I saw a few WCW questions, so I thought of this...

Had Sting gone to the WWE, could he have succeeded? Would Vince have allowed that or would he have buried him?

That's what I've thought. the top guy WWE got was Booker T, an upper midcarder, hence why Austin turned Alliance. WCW was treated like 2nd class citizens because they WERE second class citizens.

Could anyone in their right mind expect that match to succeed?
1. Buff Bagwell was in the match (his lone WWE appearance). Did Buff Bagwell ever main event a WCW show even? And I can't tell you who his opponent was.
2. The main event match was a match with (kayfabe) was 2 midcard guys from another show that who knows if you ever see them again.
3. How long did it take to set up the match (bring in ref, ring announcer, commentary team, change the ring apron)? Would you stick around 5 minutes to wait for a midcard 1-off with guys that have no impact on storylines?

If they gave WCW a full hour, and let people know that there will be more where it came from, it might have succeeded (at least been as successful as WWECW).

Well to be fair it was for the WCW Title and it was Booker T. Also Bagwell was around a bit longer. Austin and Angle beat him up a few weeks later on Smackdown. But yeah, it was a bad idea.

Your undisputed favorite match ever?

Hell, let's have a top 5. Any wrestler, any promotion, any era, etc.

Oh boy. WIth limited thought put into it and in a relatively interchangeable order:

1. Shawn Michaels vs. Shelton Benjamin - May 2, 2005 Raw. That kick to end it was absolutely amazing.

2. Sting vs. Cactus Jack - Beach Blast 92. Absolutely awesome brawl with my two favorite wrestlers ever.

3. Cactus Jack vs. HHH - Royal Rumble 2000. The most brutal match I have ever seen, period. Awesome stuff.

4. Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit - Royal Rumble 2003. Watch that match and count the holy shit moments. If you don't hit double digits you weren't paying attention.

5. WarGames 92. THAT is how you blow off a feud.

I probably left out a ton.

Another PG-era question. Do you think WWE can actually go back on it's PG rating? What I mean by that is can they actually go back to an adult audience, after working so hard to be more (and totally) family friendly? It seems to me like Vince and Linda have really made a point of having a family-oriented product, due to a number of issues (Benoit situation, steroids, wrestlers frequently dying, etc.). Going back to more adult programming could take that reputation they've attempted to build, and flush it right down the shitter. Thoughts?

Easily. Wrestling is based on one massive lie: what you see is real. Vince and Austin didn't hate each other, but they made you believe they did. If you can make people believe that, you can make them believe anything. Fans want to be sucked into a story. You put something together properly and you'll get them. Just make it a bit edgier and it'll work as well as anything does.

How would have Benoit done if he was world champion on Smackdown instead of Raw?

Better. Smackdown was/is the wrestling show. Raw is the soap opera. Benoit was a wrestler and belonged on Smackdown.

Hard to say again. Sting's popularity was so insane at times that I still believe he rivaled Hogan for biggest star in the world. Vince however almost never will allow his creations to be trumped by anything, so I'd probably lean towards no but with very little assurance of it.

Right, I get that. Fans will embrace a new, more adult-oriented program. I agree with that 100%. Maybe I should have worded this differently.

What I really meant is will Linda and Vince consider changing? It seems as though, as I said earlier, they are very concerned with WWE's image. They have worked pretty hard to change that image, and I'm not sure they would go back on that. Thoughts?

With what you said about Sting, don't you think he would have gone the "Booker T route"? Mid Carder for a while then FINALLY win a World Championship?

Yeah I think so. You can have the guys be healthy and still produce an adult oriented show. At the end of the day, adults have money, not the kids. You cater to the cash. Just don't go nuts with insane stuff.

That's more or less what he did. He held the TV Title for a long time because no one knew what to do with him. he didn't win the world title until about two years after his national breakthrough vs. Flair.

Kane? Did you like him more with the mask, or do you think it's overrated?

Overrated. He's more or less the same in ring worker with or without it. I'm glad to see him get a nice run with the title as if nothing else he's earned it for loyalty, which is really the only reason Taker gets his anymore. It's not like he's the best worker or best choice for the title long term.

I agree with that. In my opinion, unless it's a special case, masks should be used for a short amount of time... Unless you're a Mexican luchador.

Hence why I think he'll never put it on again. I love reading all those asinine threads about him putting the mask on again, though.

Favorite entrance of all time? Not song, but just one entrance that you flash back to anytime you think of the quintessential moment.

For a match, Austin at Mania 17. For an appearance, HHH's return in 02. That pop is absolutely ridiculous.
