Is Raw Really The Better Brand?

No. The best brand is Superstars. They garner a 4.5 rating every week. You must not be watching it much. It's on Thursdays on .... network at .... PM. Also if you mean soley Raw and Smackdown I'd go with Raw. Its the flagship show, its live and its the only one Vince goes to. Smackdown is like a cheaper version, and if it wasn't owned by the WWE it would be a good competition.

Smackdown from 1999-2006 was great. I know I'm getting shit for saying TNA has a better product (which I'm sorry for saying because TNA is absolute shit). I don't watch Smackdown anymore because I read the spoilers and who wants to waste their friday nights watching wrestling? Not me.

I believe Raw is the superior brand. Honestly, I can't even watch Smackdown half of the time. I have more important things to do on a Friday night. But I guess I'll actaully give some reasons.

Storylines

I find the stories told on Smackdown to be quite ridiculous most of the time. With the exception of the Kane Search going on right now, I have no interest in anything else. Even said storyline kind of bores me, the only saving grace would be that Kane isn't the culprit in the end. If he is, however, then it will be a total letdown.

On the other hand, the NXT angle going on right now has had me thoroughly enthralled the past few weeks, along with Randy and Edge's program, and seeing the different guest hosts making asses out of themselves. Maybe I just like watching the established stars do what they do best as opposed to watching rookies stumble along the way, but that's my thought.

Psychology

Smackdown does have some entertaining matches from time to time, but I find them to usually be quite spotty. I prefer the use of Psychology in a match, and Raw is way more dominate when it comes to "Ring General" type performers. I love watching the likes of Edge, Jericho, and Orton wrestle well, just about anybody.

Production

The fact that Raw is live every week just adds to the atmosphere of the show. There are no retakes if someone fucks up an ending or an intro. Just watching Smackdown feels kind of bush league, it definitely lacks the the flare that Raw has.

I think Raw is more popular then Smackdown because Raw is being looked after more since it’s the Main brand. I think Smackdown, is there, just need’s a few touch up’s. They need better commentators.

For me, RAW is the better brand, and the only real reason why is because the show is live. Live shows always give you the air of unpredictability. Even if I didn't read the spoilers for Smackdown, it is hard to get into because I know the show is taped, and as such the show is edited to eliminate any mistakes or wrongdoings. For me that ruins the show, so I am not as entertained by it.

I have a similar feeling when RAW is taped, although that show still is more entertaining, because, I feel much more invested in the storylines and characters, since I watch it every week.
