Is it just me or did i see a major cock up on raw?

This whole thing was Mickie's fault, Gail Kim is not at fault in this situation. I dont know what James is billed at, but shes packing on the pounds, hence why shes wrestling in those pants now instead of the skirt she used to wear. She botched the finish, and Gail Kim had all the right in the world not to sell Stratusfaction. If Mickie was smart, she would of used a school boy roll up to win the match, that way it was a surprise and out of no where, rather than the Piss Poor ending we saw

Mickie was responsible for the whole thing? So Mickie was responsible for Gail botching her own cross body? If Gail couldn't take the DDT, she should not have put her hands on Mickies hips, telling her that she could take it. Mickie did not botch the finisher, Gail did, but even then she was injured. Mickie made the best out of a sticky situation, she thought quickly, and went for the Mick Kick (which Mickie signalled for Gail to take to the chin, and sell, which Gail did not) - do you honestly expect Mickie to kick Gail in the head when she has a concussion? Think sunshine.

A little note, her finisher isn't called the Stratusfaction, she hasn't done that finisher since 2006. A roll up would have been a bad idea, because Gail would have been too stiff to work with that. I don't understand how anybody can expect Mickie to be proud of that match, it was a shitty situation to be in, the pissed off look wasn't surprising, if anything, i'd be surprised at Mickie actually cheering and celebrating after the match. Now that would look silly.

It really is a shame that Gail Kim is receiving all of this heat for a misstep in a match, when others have really screwed up a match. I can give a couple of prominent examples. The  """""Immortal""""" Hulk Hogan botched "BIG EVIL" Undertaker's Chokeslam at Judgment Day SO terribly, there was no way to play it off. Two major differences present were neither superstar was concussed and The Undertaker didn't give Hogan a death glare at the end of the match.

The second botch was when Brock Lesnar thought he would run in circles with A-Train on his back, flailing him off for the F5, which resulted in A Train folding like an accordion. Along with his famous Shooting Star Press attempt at Wrestlemania :banghead:

It's understandable to be frustrated especially when you are a high profile performer like Mickie James, and I see why Gail Kim would unfairly be thrown in to the deep fryer by some of the IWC because of her accolades. (although I strongly disagree with it) Let's take a quick look at Gail Kim: She showed up in the WWF at the time and became Women's Champion in her debut match. QUITE IMPRESSIVE!! Even though her stint was shortlived, she moved on to TNA and stepped up her credibility, performance, character, and really got fan's attention towards her in ring prowess. Heck she was defeating the likes of Awesome Kong!

With that said, people are unfortunately going to scrutinize and jump to judgement when she makes a mistake. The same would go for Mickey, which seems to be the case now. Oh well, no one was killed in the match or serioiusly injured for that matter, so let's move on from this and anticipate a great fued with a exhibition of OUTSTANDING talent from two outstanding Divas.

Sorry, but i'm not even sure if I even believe this report. I was reading an article, and Mickie did exactly what she should have done regarding the match. Her pissed off look was unprofessional, but at the end of the day, wrestlers are human. Several wrestlers including Shawn Michaels, The Rock, ect, have all gotton annoyed at their opponents at some point in matches, and i'm not even going to deny that Mickie was wrong to do what she did, but she missed the kick on purpose (hence why she signalled to Gail that she was going to hit her chin), and Gail didn't return the favor, instead, she no sold. As for the forearm, shouting at her over that would have been fucking stupid. Mickie did one finish, failed, then she did another, failed, shall we try a third and have that one fail too? When you're on live TV, it's hard to think when you're on time, and you've got two seconds to spare. Infact, I applaud Mickie for being quick on her feet.

Anyway, if I was in Mickies situation, i'm sure i'd be annoyed too at how the match went as well, why wouldn't you be? Mickie isn't to blame in the match itself, only afterwards did she make herself look silly, when she rolled her eyes and made a bit of a scene. At the end of the day, the whole match was scripted, or so it seemed, mistakes happen, unlike the photos on WWE.com, you cannot airbrush the imperfections. The report is probably exagerrated, and Mickie most likely just exchanged a few words with whoever, explained the situation, ect. She's never done anything like this in the ring before, she's had a clean slate for almost 5 years, get over it. When something bad like that happens, its extremely hard to act all happy and smiley about it.
You are so correct about other wrestlers expressing their dissatisfaction with a match. When you mentioned The Rock, I can clearly remember WMXX when Mick Foley didn't kick out in time and Randy Orton won the match. (I still blame the ref for hitting the mat 4 times, but that can be another thread) Rock was clearly pissed off.

We are all human and I don't care who you are because when the lights are on bright and thousands upon thousands of eyes are on you, if something that can't be ignored happens during the performance it's only natural to show frustration. Mickie James did show class by helping Kim back up and raising her hand.

Wrestling is just like a sport, stuff happens. I don't bash Mikie entirely for the way she acted, in fact it shows me that she has a real passion for the buisness. Its also not Gails fault that she got knocked out. Shit happens in life and this is just one of those things. I don't think they should be blamed. There has been plenty of instance in the WWE's history that things have went wrong, things just went on as normal. I hope this is one of those instances.

I can't bash Mickie myself. What do people want her to do? Celebrate her title win, be all bouncy and smiley, despite the match they put on? If she did that, then it wouldn't look like she cared about her performance (something which certain members of the IWC have been saying), well, she was pissed off, therefore, she did care about what happened. Besides, wasn't being wary of Gails concussion, avoiding the kick, checking on her, and holding her hand up after the match, professional?

If Mickie acted lively and peppy after the match, she would have gotton stick for that as well, and if Mickie where to act professional about the situation, she would have to act like nothing happened, soaking up all the cheers from the fans, don't you think that would look ridiculous? Considering the match both put on? Mickie James is human, and even if she acted professional, I guarantee that some people would be bitching that she didn't care about her performance, and she didn't show any after-thought for the match.

I was live at the event, and Gail hit her head several times. The match should have been called because you could tell that she was dazed.

Blame shouldn't be placed on anyone... shit happens in life and wrestling, and the best you can do is try you best to avoid it happening again.

I don't think anybody is to blame in this situation. The only thing i could say is that Mickie James as some powerful enemies in the back and it's been like this for quite some times. Let face it, Mickie is only the champion right now because Maryse was injured. The problem is that Mickie is popular and somebody in the back doesn't like it so everytime something happens she the one to blame even if she not at fault. That's why she got yell at last monday night. It had nothing to do with the ending of the match, it was because she isn't like backstage by somebody in creative or higher up and even if it was Gail Kim fault in wouldn'T have mattered because Mickie was in the match.

Idk, I would have to say i almost enjoyed her reaction afterwards. We all wish wrestling was real, and you could very obviously detect the realism of her emotion. wish there was more emotion in the ring

I kind of agree. WWE have always downplayed Mickies popularity, even when she won a most popular diva poll, they rigged it, despite somebody screen shotting the results. I have to disagree as to why she is champion; Maryse was going to drop that title eventually, and it was only smart to drop it to Mickie, given how over she actually is. Nobody really cared about the title, but when Mickie is holding it, it's kind of 'got something', you know?

Back to it, i've always had an feeling that somebody backstage didn't like Mickie, (I know it's a silly thing to assume), but WWE has always used Mickie as a doormat. Her first reign was great, but then her second title was won because Lita was leaving, her third was an accident, and her fourth was won because Candice injured herself again. It's sad really, but despite all that, no matter what WWE have done, whether it be push Kelly, take Mickie off TV, stick her on heat, or put her on the back burner for 7 months; Mickie has always come back and been just as over as ever. I just hope that this report was just another sensationalist dirt-sheet story.

Does anyone have a video of the match in question. I missed that one and would like to take a look.

Everything about the womens wrestling on Raw has went down hill since the whole Santino/Santina Queen of WM bullshit storyline that took Beth Phoenix out of the title picture. If that wasnt bad, it got even worse once James won the title. I put good money on it that if Maryse didnt have to have surgery on her knee cap, that she would still be the Diva's Champ and this whole mess wouldnt of happened.

OH Now Mickie James isnt fat by any means. You people really need to stop with that excuse as to why you think she is no longer good. Fact is Mickie is one of the best women in entire WWE Universe that can ACTUALLY wrestle and not just look pretty and know two moves. Another fact, she stopped wearing her little skirts because they were getting caught on divas foots in some matches and plus, how many times have the Divas outfits transformed? Any maybe the lil skirt was too riskay for their new tv rating system. Hence, why most of their story lines are luke warm anymore. I think this match was just a botch up. It happens, and if Mickie got yelled at backstage, that is very disrespectful of the WWE. They should treat the ladies with respect too.

What a ridiculous excuse for a match that was. Never in my life have I seen anthing like before. Both of them were to blame in my opinion. Mickie James less so but she was still in the ring and in the match so she must take some of the blame. Gail Kim is certainly the culprit. That DDT depends on your opponent staying strong ebough that you can hoist yourself off of them but Gail Kim sandbagged and the whole finish was fucked after that. I suppose Mickie did her best to get a decent match finish by going to the second finisher but Gail Kim didn't sell that either. After the finish though, I knew that something was up and Mickie James seemed to exaserbate the problem by looking confused. If she had celebrated like she had just kept her title, it may have taken away from the finish. Instead, she looked very confused and drew attention to it.

A horrible excuse for pro-wrestling and it proves that the Diva's shouldn't be wrestling.

Did you not see Gail Kims face after the match? I doubt she even knew who she was, let alone where she was. Have you ever got a bang too hard to the head, that caused a concussion? Probably not, but I have, as a boxer in my younger days. I can tell you from personal experience, it doesn't really hurt, but just confuses you completely. Your legs go like jello, and your basically fucked. generally hospital for 24 hours for observation because it can do serious damage.

Honestly, anything that gets my buddy MaffewofBotchamania more material I am going to be okay with. Bad moves weren't just executed at the end, but if you were to rewatch it on Youtube, you'd notice they WERE EVERYWHERE!*B Rated Horror Music*
