IMPACT Wrestling LD - All Dates

I'd pay good money to get some fresh blood in the main event. How long are those three going to fight over the title?

And can we please just forget Aron Rex exists? Like, for good?

I wouldn't want to see this gimmick in a prominent spot on the card, because as we all have to know now, Rex just can't wrestle- but I actually think this can be a great vehicle for Rex and Spud to be entertaining. At least they now have defined characters to be fleshed out.

The Eli Drake segment came off well. Robbie sounded good with the mic. That DCC promo was well done. Seriously the character work being done in this company right now is as good across the board as its been in forever. And so far the 2017/Anthem TNA product is hitting a low key homerun considering what they have to work with. If the in-ring work continues to be a step-up, as it has been so far, I'm more optimistic about the state of the on air product than I've been in some time.

That Maria and Allie segment showed off one of TNA's major problems: they don't know how to blow off a story. THose two should have had their big match MONTHS ago but for some reason Allie still works for Maria despite yelling and breaking up with her like five times. Just do the blowoff and move on already because any interest I had is long gone due to just time.

Dang the DCC is rapidly losing steam. They were a cool concept but now they're just another brawling team.

But hey, at least they got to do a comedy appearance in Tag Team Apocalypto right?

So apparently the Fight Network aired the wrong episode of Impact tonight. This company is cursed man.

Time to bring back Dixie?

This is a good example of what I don't like about TNA's booking. There's no real reason for this match to be happening other than it's a dream match. The Wolves haven't been together in forever, there's no animosity here and now they're just getting a title shot. I'm sure there's a reason for the match happening if you go back in time but since Josh's job is to plug sitcoms, we're not going to hear about it. That drives me nuts and TNA does it constantly.

I thought they did a good job of setting up the why tonight(well not commentary, but commentary is useless for this company now)...

We know the Broken Hardy's will accept any credible challenge now as part of their ongoing quest to prove that they are the greatest tag team in all of space and time. While the Wolves got the match because Eddie pushed for it as a gift to Davey to get "their" titles back that they only haven't held because of injury. And it was done as way to help Davey from feeling "naked"(title-less while Eddie holds the big gold), as well as to ease his creeping crisis of feeling like a second fiddle or sidekick. This was all set-up and explained well and quite clearly in backstage promo segments.

And the match also has purpose in the story developments, as beating the Wolves is the last great tag team obstacle in TNA that the Hardy's hadn't conquered since becoming broken. It frees them up for the storyline that will see them going to other companies(like the Bucks match that will happen in ROH) to cement their quest to appease the seven dieties. While the ending, and Davey's post match blow-up, adds heat to the predictable Wolves split.

Oh and I forgot how horrible Brooke's theme is. That really feels out of place with how women's wrestling has changed anymore.

Rangers/Leafs took precedent tonight. I'm watching some of it now, but I'll probably need to finish this episode tomorrow night.

James Storm is put in a cool gimmick that gets people's attention.

TNA: "LET'S HAVE HIM GO AFTER THE TAG TEAM TITLES!"

Storm: "......I left NXT for this."

Jade is another great example of potential that TNA hasn't done anything with. She's talented and entertaining in the ring but I don't know anything about her and therefore I have no connection to her. TNA has always had a major problem with that area.

Egads STOP TALKING ABOUT FIGHTING WWE TEAMS. You're not going to WWE because WWE has absolutely nothing to gain from it. THis is such a cheap/stupid ploy and it gets really tiresome to sit through.
