IMPACT Wrestling LD - All Dates

Ok so it's who wins the most rounds, not the most points? Then why bother scoring the rounds?

I haven't watched yet but I read about this new title a couple weeks ago, I think they score the rounds to determine who won the round. I'm already not a fan of them trying to create a belt based on MMA style rules, I don't watch wrestling for MMA, I watch UFC for MMA, I watch wrestling for wrestling.

But if it's just who won the round, why bother with points? Why not just have the judges say "Wrestler A" wins?

I turned the show on about 6 times tonight, even watched a few minutes here and there, and at no point did I see any wrestling.

I love nonsense as much as the next guy but at some point they need to have a match.

You mean you missed the 21:05 of combined wrestling in two hours? Did you see the kangaroo and spot monkeys named after the Young Bucks?

Didn't see any monkeys but I saw Hardy fighting the kangaroo and felt bad for the animal. I saw a giraffe before that. There was a belt presentation interrupted by Drew. An Aron Rex rant. A press conference. A couple commercials. A guy on the road in a truck. And the last thing I remember was a woman in a house with a baby.

The baby and kangaroo stuff turned me off quickly.

This episode sucked, They need to spend less time talking & actually have more than 3 matches in their 2 hour show. I also need Dixie to get the fuck off camera, unless their goal is to get me to fast forward through even more of the show.

Killjoy made a great point about last week.

JB to Billy Corgan: "TELL US YOUR SURPRISE!!! I HAVE TO KNOW!!!"

Corgan: "You'll find out when everyone else does."

Corgan in the ring: "It's the TNA Grand Championship! Here's a video on it, narrated by JB!"

Ha! I thought the same. Was Owen's first birthday week, so we were traveling. I ended up watching on Saturday night, but that was ridiculous.

Back on the LD — Moose is fucking huge. Him next to Lashley actually makes Lashley look small, and Lashley is a monster.

I really don't like this round thing.

1. It cuts the match off as it's starting to flow.

2. That last second flurry of offense in an effort to score more points makes me wonder why they're not doing that all round.

3. I still don't like the UFC approach to wrestling.

UFC is not wrestling, and wrestling is not UFC. They're totally different animals. This is like if the NHL decided that because of the popularity of the NFL, all games now require the puck be thrown and caught up and down the ice and skated into an end zone.

I give TNA tons of credit for trying this, but I'm really struggling to connect with it.

Here's another IWGC question — what happens once the winner is crowned? Do all matches for the title have these three-round stipulations? So every match for the title will be nine minutes or determined by a judge's vote?

Yep. It's almost like that's not going to have much of a shelf life.

So again, I'd like to ask: are we really supposed to get excited about Gail Kim (who is in fact A WRESTLER) beating Maria in what's likely going to be a squash at Bound For Glory to win yet another title?
