Yeah but they already have like eight podcasts and had just hired some team that was a huge deal for them.

Meltzer spoke about all this on this mornings WO radio cast.
http://forums.wrestlezone.com/showthread.php?p=5234981#post5234981
Main points are:
- This invasion angle is TNA's idea
- Wrestle-1 was originally slated to do it but things didn't work out between them
- AAA didn't want to do it most likely because Konnan still has bad blood with TNA
- CMLL didn't want to do it but TNA were on the fence about that because nobody would know any of the CMLL guys
- ROH didn't want to do it as they saw no benefit and believe they're now above TNA
- GFW was the last option and Jarrett was open to doing it because its a way for him to promote GFW considering he has no TV deal and as of now no TV deal is imminent, it was also a way on TNA's side to reconcile with Jarrett and do some other business with him
I would have thought the next option would have been WWN personally, although if the rumors of them now secretly working with WWE are true I guess not. If they were really hell bent on it CHIKARA also has a roster of guys who mostly only work for CHIKARA, granted there is nothing threatening of a bunch of guys in costumes so then again, I guess not. I would say PWG but half their roster is contracted elsewhere. Dragon Gate in Japan would have been another option but they would have to explain who everyone is.
CHIKARA deserves more income and exposure.

I don't know how tight the bond is these days, but Dragon Gate is connected with WWN.
Roode is hands down the best homegrown talent they've ever had
I don't think it is. Didn't Gabe not tear into Dragon Gate for always pulling all their Japanese talent from the DGUSA shows?
Naw I still say Aries was the best all around performer in the company that year.
Unlike Storm, he could've waited and it would have not damaged him one bit. He couldve easily feuded with main eventers besides Bully Ray, win the TV title and actually do something with, etc.
Storm was doing music videos, appearances and such. It was so obvious he'd been a big face for TNA.
That they used correctly. They could have done so much more with James Storm and Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley (if they count)

As a huge Sabin mark, I have to say he hit his pinnacle with the MCMG. He had a good run as the top heel in the X Division, and won a bunch of belts, but he was never going to be a main eventer.
Alex Shelley is the same story. He started at nothing, and worked his way up to MCMG. Another guy that did great, but was never going to be a main eventer.
Shelley had more upside than Sabin IMO. Better look. Better charisma. But they both seemed a little stuck. Would have taken years and years to get them to break out.
I mean, if Eric Young did it, Shelley could have.
If we're talking faces only:
Galloway, both Hardys, Kurt Angle (expected to miss three weeks), Melendez (ugh), Lashley, Anderson, Eli Drake and Micah.
There's still enough there to make it work.
