Impact Support Club House

TNA Senior Producer of Creative & Talent Development conducted a LIVE ‘PPV Prep’ Periscope moments ago and talked about the rumoured talents that are “leaving”.

Heres an overview of what he has to say;

He says while he does not make those decisions as he does not deal with talent relations but simply creative but he has confirmed that the rumoured names to be leaving (Magnus/Storm/Aries) are not being written out of storylines and are already booked/planned to come back at the next set of tapings. He did note that there are a lot of ongoing changes in the company with a lot of the high profile stars not being locked down to exclusive/annual contracts going forward. In a perfect world he wishes they could all have long term contracts and have all the talent they want its just not how the business is at the moment. He says that they are taking steps backward to take steps forward. He affirms that there is nothing to worry about.

.

The Death of TNA could be airing on the WWE Network two years after it's released on DVD and there would still be messages coming out saying "there's nothing to worry about."

When did AJ ever say he wouldn't work with / for TNA? The barrier he stated was his current contracts with ROH / NJPW and the conflicts this created. If Dixie & Double J can clear these, I'm pretty sure AJ would still love to return as he is actually far more synonymous with TNA.

Cornette is too much of an old dog to worry about old scars, especially as his nemesis (Russo) is long gone and the company has returned to the simpler older school storylines that he advocates.

It was in reply to IDR's comment about "If they don't like it, quit".

Oh, so true. Sad, very sad. But true, mostly.

Dixie would be in her room, playing with her TNA action figures, writing up shitty storylines, pretending everything is A-OK.

So Bram has renewed his contract with TNA.

Actually, according to this Twitter page, Bram has signed multiple multi-year contracts already today and is set to stay with TNA until the end of existence.

While I was typing this John Gaburick announced that Bram has re-signed with TNA.

And hes done it again, Bram has signed a multi-year deal with TNA. These are a lot of contracts.

On the front page it is saying that the recently released talent are being transferred to GFW for a future invasion story line.

As stated earlier in the thread, I have already been getting the feeling that this is in the works. But seeing Magnus and Jarrett smiling and shaking hands celebrating Magnus's apparent signing with GFW while backstage at Slammiversary, with Impact Wrestling logos flashing prominently on monitors in the background, just went further to drive home my suspicions.

I won't assert that this has for sure been in the works all along, and it could perhaps be a result of some type of buyout as some have speculated, but at this point the whole TNA/GFW dynamic just feels like something that will ultimately come across as an elaborate version of a giant restructuring/re-branding for the TNA product.

Quoting myself here from the "Rebranding" thread in the TNA section:
If TNA were to commit to a rebranding, they'd be committing to continued operations of the company (the investments IDR explained in detail have to have time to pay themselves off), which is something that they can't guarantee since they're at the mercy of a TV deal. Yikes. That's the kind of 'shit or get off' decision that'll have some TNA executive pushing rocks, because it's unquestionably a last resort strategy.

If I were in charge, I would have sold the company two years ago when they weren't in great shape but had brand equity. But we're talking about today. If my end goal is maximizing the amount of chips I have in my possession before I cash out, I ride TNA from TV deal to internet streaming to closure, spending as little as possible on production. If my end goal is to make this company succeed and damn the risk of loss, I rebrand starting first thing in the morning.

I am completely unsure as to what a TNA executive would do.
TNA is, very, very obviously, rebranding themselves, and doing it in a fashion that- unlike most of what TNA's done recently- people are talking and excited about. The only other reason to mention or feature GFW in any fashion would be sheer panicked desperation in the hopes of stealing whatever buzz GFW has. I believe a lot of negative things about the people that have operated TNA, but brazen crazed stupidity is not one of them.

Given the option between slowly cashing out on TNA as it dwindles into irrelevance, or recommitting to the development of the brand, TNA is resolutely choosing the second option.

You did watch BFG '14, didn't you? ;)

Except, if a company that has had 4 poorly received shows is your saving grace...Your ship is sinking. This is not a "Go back to your cabin for tea and a cigar, it's just a leak". This is "We have hit an iceberg, and are going down fast. Everyone out!"

Even when it was pretty much inevitable that the Titantic would hit the iceberg, they still tried to steer out of the way*. If you're committed to saving the ship at all costs, you have to do something.

......fair point.

*In the movie. In real life they hit the iceberg inadvertently and went, 'oh, shit'. Then handled the resulting evacuation extremely poorly, which does somewhat resemble TNA since the Hulk and Eric era.

Man, you go away for a weekend so your wife can have her baby shower with her family and all hell breaks loose?

Anyone wanna give me the cliff notes of what the fuck is going on?

More people leaving TNA and "signing" with GFW but the two companies are still working together on a possible Invasion angle mostly because Jarrett's stadium tour failed and TNA will most likely be dead by the end of the year.
