Imagine fans chanting this now a days.

JenksIX

Pre-Show Stalwart
It begins at around 1:55. The fans begin to chant "Shawn is GAY" and continue to do so throughout his entire promo. What makes things worse is that at 2:18, Bobby the Brain Heenan replies to the "Shawn is GAY" chants with "heh... if you only knew." Talk about being unprofessional. No wonder Mark Madden hates him.

If America Online had remained as such and the internet wasn't so heavily influenced by the english, who knows what sort of chants we'd still be hearing in the US.

Heenan made remarks like that all the time. He had literally zero filter. He made fat jokes, racist jokes, sexual jokes, he made jokes about EVERYTHING. It didn't matter though as the only person today who even rivals a Heenan reaction from the crowd is Cena. As good as Punk is he would kill for the type of heat Heenan could get on a consistent basis.

If anything Heenan was being professional, its in his character to make a remark like that.

Madden hates Heenan because even drunk, Heenan was more talented and more over than Madden could ever dream of being. Heenan had so much natural ability that he made others look bad by comparison. Quintessential Heenan one liner. He was calling a match where a jobber was wrestling a top level guy (can't recall who) and he had faced that guy numerous times recently. The other announcer made mention of that fact and Heenan blithely stated, "Yeah, if he beats him one more time, he gets to keep him." That, my friends is pure genius. That just can't be taught. You either have it or you don't. Heenan had it. Madden didn't. And he hates him for it.

The thing is Heenan worked in a time before the whole politically correct self esteem movement bullshit kicked in. Back when heels were actually allowed to be heels. Look at Abraham Washington and the shit he got just for making a reference to Kobe Bryant. Bobby Heenan would have been fired midway through just one show if he worked on RAW these days.
