If the Authority loses at Survivor Series

If the Authority loses at Survivor Series who would you like to see "take over" the WWE? Personally I'm hoping it is "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. A while ago there were reports of Austin having some kind of role with the company in early 2015. It would be a nice change having the Texas Rattlesnake being in charge and I enjoyed his time when he was co in charge with Bischoff in 2003. I think Austin could bring some freshness to storylines, help elevate newer superstars, give some great promos, and who doesn't like seeing Austin drink some beers here and there? Who would you like to see take over if the Authority loses and why?

Who knows.. but we can only hope it ends. They've run this thing into the ground. I can't see "Stone Cold" Steve Austin coming back for that though, he's recently said some kind of disparaging stuff about the current WWE product lately and I'm pretty sure he's happy just living life off screen, enjoying his money and doing his podcast/TV shows... and as much as I love the rattlesnake, it's time for something fresh - not for something from a decade ago.

The first thought I had was Austin. It was reported that the WWE and Austin may be working together and there has been cross-publicity for his podcast and the Network.

I think he is currently doing his reality show but once he is done with that, who knows. It could happen even for a short run. A couple months of Austin could give the show a fresh feel and at the very least get a few more eyes on the product. Moreover, it will be entertaining given Austin and his character. There is also the thing that Hogan has been appearing a lot lately. Maybe Austin would feel a little jealous of the attention they give Hogan....

I doubt, if they lose, it will be Austin but it is an option. Other than him, I can't think of many logical and entertaining choices. Flair? Hogan? Booker T? Daniel Bryan!?! I'd pass on Flair and Hogan. Absolutely yes on Booker T.

Bryan would be a phenomenal choice but he probably has to focus on his rehab. It would be a nice full circle and they could put all their attention into making a top show each week. Have guys like Ziggler and Ambrose win and bring up guys from NXT. Really make it seem that Bryan has taken over and doing it the "right" way. Of course, this doesn't necessarily equal ratings but it is worth trying something different.

My guess would have to be Heyman. He's taken quite a bit time off lately and WWE has to see what they have in him. Vicki and Lauranitis are other options. I can't see SCSA doing weekly television for an extended period. It would be too expensive to pay him to show up every week. Maybe Regal as well.

I expect The Authority to lose. HHH and Steph are probably tired of their roles and would like to spend more time with the kids for the holidays. Plus Rollins, Kane, Mercury, and Noble isn't exactly a lot of effort put in to a faction that is supposed to lead the organization.

Then again, Orton may need a strong group to feud with upon his return.

Heyman would be great... anytime he is on screen things are more interesting. And I like the Bryan idea too.... great way to get him an his yes movement back on our screens.
How about a few others...
Cena gets him out of main event without taking him out of main event.
Sting of course.... but doubtful
JBL... tired of him on commentary
Regal still around and was a great heel gm
Just hope it isn't Hogan or Flair

I would love to see Shane come back and take over, even if it ends up being awful, at least we would try something "new" and fresh :3
but that wont happen since he has his own company..
but I would welcome GMs or two big factions which would fight against each other..

I have an idea. A revolutionary idea. Actually, no, it's rather rudimentary, but it's so simple, yet never done. How about, no on air authority figure? No principal owners, no COO, commissioner, anonymous GM, nothing.

It's a tired trope in wrestling, and the last vestige of the Attitude Era. There's ALWAYS been an authority figure since McMahon began feuding with Austin. On top of that, this authority figure is far too often central to the main event storylines. I'm tired of it. It's time to let the stories unfold by the talent, not the constant on air bureaucracy.

Liven up Creative, while they're at it. Too long Creative has had the safety net of authority figures to move the stories along. It's time for them to think outside the box. Let the Authority lose and not be replaced.

To say this Authority angle has played itself out is an understatement. It's time for it to end, something different needs to come about and it doesn't need to be another authority figure. I'm tired of the GMs and the authority people making the calls and being the main event scene.

WWE needs something new and fresh.

I would really love if they did away with the opening 25 minute promo from Triple H and Stephanie (or any "authority figure" for a while as @DearWrestler mentioned) for a while... it always starts the show off at a crawl and we've seen it a million times... put in more backstage segments, story development for multiple characters, and more wrestling. Kane needs to wrestle less or something, he is old and boring and I feel like he has been in over half the main event matches this year. Hopefully with these Network numbers, there is going to be a shake up.

Rumor has it that Stephanie is pregnant. The authority will probably lose and then come back when she is done with maternity leave. With it being just a few months that her and HHH will be out, I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Macmahon himself took over for a little while, plus that would be awesome too.

My top picks would be Sting or a returning C.M. Punk but I don't see either of those being a viable option - I personally think it would be Vince because he is tired of seeing his son in law & daughter ruin the company he worked so hard to build so he decides to back his "Franchise Player" Cena or maybe even Shane if they could pull him back on TV. It's possible it could also be Danie Bryan since he & Cena have a common link called the Bella's

If they get rid of the Authority angle, say goodbye to the only hot gimmick in all of wrestling. It's the gimmick that made Daniel Bryan, it's the gimmick that made the Shield main eventers, it's the gimmick that has kept wrestling going since Summerslam 2013.

If you don't get the Authority angle, that's cool. But just because you don't understand something in wrestling, there's no reason to toss it out. The Authority is easily the hottest heels right now, and they do it effortlessly. HHH cuts clinic quality promos, the faces keep getting the right amount of wins and losses. I can't think of a time since I've been an adult that the WWE product has been better than it is right now.

Heyman should be. you kind of need to have an authority figure around. who would set up like the #1 contender matches or title matches if there was no authority

I'm sorry, but that's like saying a movie like The Wicker Man was bad because I didn't understand it.

The Authority did great things, like you said. Daniel Bryan is the best example, but the Authority got heat that was organic back then. Now they're farcical in their 9.99$ plugs. Triple H's promo with Ziggler this week was great as well, but everything else they've done since the Steph vs Brie story has been forgettable.

If you want to talk hottest heel, that honour goes to one man in the Authority, not the whole pack. Seth Rollins bares that torch. Yes, in good part thanks to Stephanie and the H's, but also due to his own work. He has the potential to remain just as hot as he is in a post-Authority environment.

I admit, I like the Authority when they are active in storyline. I'm really digging this Survivor Series build. But when the on-air authority figure is simply status quo in a heel or face alignment, there's no need for them on screen.

They did just fine before Mr. McMahon was a character. Creative thinking is a wonderous thing.

NOBODY. Face authority figures suck.

In fact, most heel authority figures suck too. The only ones I've enjoyed have been Vince, Stephanie, and HHH. One of the reasons that it works is that they REALLY are in charge, so when they're on the show abusing their power and acting like aholes, it's easy for them to draw good heat and create good stories. Not to mention the entertainment factor of wondering if any of the negative things Steph/HHH say about certain wrestlers is how they really feel in real life, or if they are just trolling the crowd. It's awesome.

If they are done, go back to no authority figure. It's pretty pointless otherwise.

I should add, I do not see them losing. They will manipulate things(Cena turn, NWO style?) so that they win.

Bring back Jack Tunney the original authority figure of the WWE, But as thats now impossible Steve Austin would be a perfect choice and think he would reignite the current dull product we now watch.

I'd love to see Heyman take over, just so the build to Brock vs the WWE's Last Hope is that much more Epic when it happens.

If not, then I can see Sting perhaps being an option...or maybe Cena himself? ;)

I don't want to see the Authority "be fired." I think they got a good thing going, and they should keep it going. Unless they put Paul Heyman in charge. I could get behind that. I find him interesting and I find him to be very good on the mic. He would keep my interested in the storyline.

I could see a face GM coming in to start poking at Lesnar to return and defend the belt. Austin is on record stating he is training for a return, if this is going to be an on-air role, being in reasonable ring shape would make sense for an on-air authority figure role. Hell they might even go for a joint Austin-Hogan partnership, that would be somkething different and would be hard to watch tbh, Austin has been in the role before and is a backward step. Hogan as GM gives him something to do, but I dont want to see him on Raw EVERY week.

If The Authority loses, they'll probably just change their names and come back as something else.

I can see it now on the next night's RAW, HHH's music will hit, he'll walk out with Stephanie and Kane and announce the Authority is gone, but now the roster will have to put up with the Head Honcho's or the Big Wheels or something equally as stupid.

They will need someone in place, because if I have to listen to that announce team run this ship I'll do my nut. Bad enough listening to them call the matches, but doing the promo's to build them up as well, oh hell no.

I wouldn't want to see anybody take over The Authority. The authority figure is played out.

I doubt they'll lose but if they do lose, it'll present a great opportunity for other wrestlers to get air time in matches and promos.

if authority loses at ss then vince appear on raw and announce new gm of raw. Hhh stay as coo and stephnie as co-chairman. So the heel group stay as it is. This will make a possibie face gm. My prediction is hogan.

Ric flair is also my choice.

If they planned more network numbers. They may bring sting as gm of raw.

Yeah, I'm in the Camp of 'The Authority Remains, but there's a Face to check their power'.

And really, my money's on Sting, but my Dark Horse Candidate, even with all the Face Injuries of late, would be John Cena. That's more of a mind-screw to the Fans than the Heel Turn would be, in my opinion.
