I Need To Voice My Dislike For Ziggler

Y 2 Jake

Slightly Autistic
I went Raw last night (Good atmosphere, check it out!) and I was suprised by how over Ziggler is. And I don't get it. He's talented, but he's not some super-worker or a great character.

- I dislike how his gimmick is that he's a "show-stealer". When was the last time he stole a show? I remember enjoying his matches with Bryan in 2010. They were show-stealers, I guess.

- I disliked his babyface selling when he was a hell.

- I dislike his little tight trunks with diamante studs and little zip pockets. Why would heterosexual males cheer a person in such attire. Do we take exception to guys in skinny jeans and leather vests? I know I do.

- His noodle hair.

- The fact he has no personality.

- I've seen him compared to both Jericho and, I can't believe I'm even saying this, Shawn Michaels.

- He's just crap, isn't he?

You're preaching to the choir with me. I wouldn't go as far as "crap" but he certainly feels insignificant. All those things about him feel fake and artificial. I think the guy would work better to tone down his appearance and work as a dark, brooding character. In all his years he has been interesting for two moments:

1. When he "won" Vicki Guerrero away from Jack Swagger.
2. When he cut that promo on AJ in the locker room that led to him throwing Cena through the bathroom stall.

Otherwise the guy is just a consistent flopping borefest. I defer to the UK fans on why he is so over. I still don't think he gets much of a face reaction in the US.

Ziggler is the single most overrated guy of the decade. It's not even close. He is pure, unadultered, shit.

I feel like it's not fair to judge the guy too much before he's been in a feud with talking. I've hardly heard him speak, and when he does it's not directed at anyone. With his gimmick being the Show Off, Show Stealer, whatever, he should be constantly talking himself up, but they never let him. His character could really shine if they allowed him that power. Or it could really flop, and I would be more inclined to agree with you. Example, not to take the focus away from Dolph, is Curtis Axel: I've heard him talk now, and I still can't convince myself to care about him. It's Dolph's turn!

As it stands, I like Dolph because I appreciate his t-shirt designs, he went to the same college as my roommate's parents, and for that one time, I believe in the money in the bank match that Tyson Kidd was in, when Tensei threw him headfirst not unlike a javelin into an announcer's swivel chair.

Ironically, he was pushed more when he wasn't such an outrageous whining cunt.

One can only hope he ever reaches the lofty, dizzying heights of the Spirit Squad again.

They got to wrestle D-X and Flair and Piper.

I imagine Ziggler cries himself to sleep at night, running his fingers through his noodle hair, thinking of better days.

I don't necessarily think that Dolph Ziggler is pure crap, I just think he is without a doubt the most overrated guy on the current roster, and one of the most overrated performers in quite some time. I think he is decent enough and garners enough of a reaction to be a bonafide mid carder, one who contends for the mid level titles and tag team and stuff like that. But he should be nowhere near the main belts or the main event scene. Keep him in filler matches, occasionally putting over other more significant guys by flopping all over the ring, but please God, keep him (and ADR for that matter) far removed from the WWE or WHC Championships.

And turn him heel again too, he's not well suited to being a face, as the crickets can attest to.

I think that he needs to work on each aspect. His mic work, character qnd wrestling. I actually think his wrestling is pretty good, it's just his selling. Which World Champion makes himself look like a total wuss?

Some of the pops he gets, especially in smarky towns like Philly, Chicago and New York are unreal. They always take me by surprise.

I don't think people who cheer for Ziggler, know why they really for Ziggler. He has some good matches here and there.

Now that I think about it I can't think of a really good match he's been in recently. If you're supposed to be the show stealer/show stopper surely you should have some memorable matches.

His theme song and t-shirts are the only stand out things I can think of at the moment

Saying Ziggler is a bad wrestler is dumb so cut that out. I don't mind his hair but now that you guys bring it up it's pretty funny. They should bring back JoMo though. I never really got behind in real life on WWE 13 in the past he was great though I gave him good pushes and he had great feuds and he became a perennial main eventer. In real life though I never really cheered for him except for when he cashed in but who didn't cheer for him then?

Hmm... I think he is one of the three best workers in the WWE right now. I think he is the most talented worker of them all.

like some of you mentioned, his promos always sucked, his voice is horrible, he sounds like a 16-year old geek, his gimmick always sucks....and that hairdo...oh boy

Ziggler isn't overrated on the forum, though. For every guy who loves him, two or three bash the living daylights out of him.

He's no Chris Jericho in that regard, I guess.

Jericho knows how to plan a great wrestling match. But he is short, lacks a certain charisma, ok worker....overrated by IWC marks

I'm trying to be fair. Neither Jericho nor Ziggler are real legends...I Always saw Ziggler as a guy with a tremendous talent for excecuting moves and taking bumps but his voice and look was always a problem. I don't see Jericho as a talent on that level but Jericho always had the understading of wrestling and how to put on a good match and that was what kept him afloat.

And he was a far better wrestler than Ziggler too.

Not that that's a major achievement or anything.

Did they ever have a match with each other? I remember Morrison being tied up with bully Sheamus and Drew "I had a cool intro song once" McIntyre on Smackdown, then being involved with Bryan and Miz over the US title.

The rest I can remember is only a montage of spots, flips, hair and abs.

Morrison beat Ziggler on a consistent basis in 2009. Though Ziggler beat him in Morrison's last match back at Survivor Series 2011, I actually enjoyed that one a bit.
