Championship Contender
I heard the news of his death on PTI a little before 6 p.m. est. He was one the first performers (that I saw) who combined great mat work with high flying moves form the top turnbuckle. The first match I ever saw was Randy Savage vs. Tito Santana for his newly won IC title. He was my first favourite performer. I'd love to see him come down the ramp with the cape, sunglasses and bandana to the sound of his theme music. His promos weren't always easy to understand but they were intense and filled with emotion.
My favourite moments of his:
His match vs Ricky Steamboat at WM III
His winning his first WWF championship at WM IV
His batlles with Ted Dibiase and forming the Mega Powers
His reuniting with Miss Elizabeth at WM VII after losing to Ultimate Warrior
I was sad when he left for WCW, but I was glad he could still do work at the main event level instead of being in WWF and doing color commentary.
I was happy when they decided to do a dvd detailing his career but I was beyond pissed off when I found out he would not be involved with the production of it. It had been a long time since he stopped wrestling but I always hoped he would have lived to see himself take his rightful place in the WWE HoF. RIP Randy you left us far far too soon.
