How Long Will CM Punk's Title Reign Last?

I'm curious to peoples opinions on this because of the possible feud with Jericho. If they feud at WM28, then is CM Punk still the champ? Or would the match be for the belt, which would be kind of meaningless.

I personally hope that Punk retains through and after WM.

I think punk will either lose it at ec and win at wm, or just lose at mania to chris jericho. I don't see the point in all of this hype (if it is jericho) for him to only be there for one match. I think they'll feud for a few months. But idk if punk is going to walk out of mania as champ.

I agree with pretty much everyone else. Punk has way too much momentum to lose it any time before WM. I think he'll drop the belt around May to Jericho but WON'T get it back for a little while. WWE can't turn Punk into another Cena or his huge fan base will disappear quickly, especially among the IWC

Ok, I'm no fortune-teller, so I can't tell you how long this reign will last, but I will tell you how long it SHOULD last. It should last long enough to prove Punk to be a mainstay in the main event picture with or without the belt (like HHH, Cena, Orton...) permanently.

That may sound easy enough, but this kind of thing doesn't always work out like so. Swagger once had the title, but he's no longer in the main event picture. He'd feuding in the mid-card. For Punk's title reign to be a success, it must establish Punk as a top-dog. If they keep up with how they're booking him right now, it shouldn't take to long to establish that. But we all know how Creative can screw things up. Once Punk loses the title, it needs to be to somebody who is a monster heel, and Punk must be the face (because heels make better champions).

Should Jericho return to feud with Punk, Jericho must be the heel, with Punk holding the title until or through 'Mania. I don't like the idea of Jericho quickly returning and winning the title just like that. So I'd rather him lose to Punk at 'Mania, if that is indeed what happens.

To answer the question, I think Punk's reign as champ should and will last through 'Mania. A big win at 'Mania should definitely solidify him as a star. I'm not saying he isn't a star right now, but a big, championship match, WrestleMania win would just absolutely launch him into a state of success that which he shouldn't fall from.

I wanna see punk hold onto that belt till atleast Survior series 2012, Now hear me out. They were keeping the strap on Punk cause Dec 26th Raw is in Chicago and they were gonna make sure he went home with the title just like he left the WWE with the title in Chicago. Remember back at WM4 when Macho Man Randy Savage won the title and kept it all the way till WM5. Macho Man kept things going and CM Punk can do the same thing, with the right heels trying for his title, hell even afew faces. Cena, love him or hate him doesn't need a title shot against Punk but you know he's gonna get one 'lets go Cena, Cena sucks!' It gets the crowd into it, Punk will use it to push even more into the next title defense.

This current reign will probably end if he's facing Jericho at Mania.
I've been thinking that he'll lose to Jericho maybe at the Royal Rumble, of course it would be a dirty loss, and then he'll win an Elimination Chamber match to be named the #1 Contender and then beat Jericho at WrestleMania.

I get the feeling that WWE wants Punk to be the challenger at the big show.

However, if Punk goes into WrestleMania as the champion, then I predict him to win and carry this reign for a long time. It doesn't make sense to end it.

I think WWE should let Punk keep the title for a good length till Summerslam. BUT since I'm from Chicago & WWE is returning here for Extreme Rules which is the following PPV after WM28. I have an eerie feeling WWE might make Punk lose the title at Extreme Rules to build up a Heel. It will be a great way to build up some heat for this individual.

Yeah it has to last a while! Like the longest title run since JBL! Im talking 10 months or longer! WWE NEEDS to keep building Punk as a LEGIT main eventer and a long title run is exactly how to do it! Have him win clean against the likes of Cena, HHH, Miz, Delrio, Jericho, kane, ETC. Build him up like a complete badass! Make the man the legit "best in the world"

Till at least WM. Where all of the McMahon family screw him and make either Chris Jericho or Triple-H the new champion. This would really bring the fire back in him which = ratings. Right now he is losing steam even though his promos are great, he needs that heated rivalry.

I have to agree, although I am a big Punk fan, I do believe he is losing a little steam. He is not nearly as interesting or fun to watch as he was back in the summer. Hopefully they have someone good in store for him in the near future, like a Jericho feud.

But just to stay on topic ... I think he will remain champ for atleast a few more months minimally.

CM Punk said so himself that he will be WWE Champion for a very long time. Longer reigns filled with title retentions are the best way to establish someone as a top guy. I think the title reign will last through Wrestlemania and he might lose it at some point in late spring or the summer, but surely by Summerslam at the latest. Cena, Orton, Triple H, and The Miz have all enjoyed lengthy WWE Championship reigns in recent years. As one of the future top guys it is important that CM Punk join that list. If CM Punk holds the WWE Championship up until next year's Summerslam then that will be a 250+ day long reign. Not bad. It would be the longest since Cena's year long reign in 2006-2007. I would support that because Punk's popularity can only grow during such a reign, especially given the way fans are reacting to his promos lately.

I'm pretty damn sure that Punk's reign is going to last through to Mania, if not longer. But that all depends on who he faces at Rumble. And with how over he is, I'm pretty sure he'll retain through the Elimination Chamber. I expect him to face The Miz at Royal Rumble, a medley of Superstars in the Elimination Chamber and then Jericho at Mania.(If he shows up on the second.)

I agree with the other guy. Punk should win until extreme rules and lose it in his home town to a mega heel. It makes the most sense as it gives punk a long reign, the crowd would be on his side, then loses to a heel which will have tons of heat that night and will turn that heel into a mega heel.

Hell, let that mega heel be dolph ziggler. It would be a hell of a push and you know damn well they would have a great match. Let dolph prove himself then and give him a 4 month reign to lose it at summerslam.

Just for the love of god dont let cena hold the title after his massive heel turn at mania. He doesnt need it.

Well, if Stone Cold decides to return for a match with Punk, then his reign should probably end late January/February.But if he doesn't then Extreme Rules/Over The Limit is the best choice IMO.

Hopefully his reign will last til Survivor Series or longer that way some value can be restored to the WWE title. I also hope to see lengthy feuds between Punk and Dolph, and also Punk and Barrett(IF he was sent to Raw).
