Horrible Opening Promo

Wow.... I feel bad for the people watching it in U.K. I can not believe the U.K. had to sit through that entire thing. I can't believe i had to watch that entire thing. R-Truth is horrible on the mic, and John Morrison is only better by a tad bit.

I see now what some of you have been saying about their mic skills.

and... Yes it was that bad that it was worth mentioning.

first who wrote the script for the opening? Second, omg those two cant talk shit. I mean the content may suck but couldnt they have done a little better with the given material?

I thought truth was ok but he sound so cornly. How can people defend morrison of his mic skill when he clearly cant hold the mic. He was saying words with no emphasis. He had no control of the crowd. No flow.

Morrison was like having a conversation of an average joe with Truth.

how is morrisson better than truth?? That segment was just awful and ryan and mikael on tough enough had more emotion but truth was definitely better than jomo (not by much but still). Truth especially started to come alive after his heel turn when he was askin for a cigarette and talking to the crowd. Jomo is just garbage on the mic and somewhat cool in the ring, though his spots look way too planned compared to guys like hardy who make it look more seamless.

So far raw has kind of sucked and what is with dolph's hair, i really hope it was changed bc he found out that bleaching it or whatever he's been doing is damaging his hair, because it just killed what he had going for him to help him stand out as a new age mr perfect, no he just looks like a poor man's randy orton haha rather than a poor man's mr perfect

No matter what Rtruth does people will still try to find a way to hate on him. UH HE WAS BECOMING HEEL DUH. It was his job to sound corny in the opening promo. He was trying to be irritating. Stop Hating on a black man. Jeezus

Morrison was not that bad. His character is laid back. He's not supposed to be screaming at R-Truth for a rematch. I for one am happy that there giving Morrison a chance at opening Raw. He cant improve if the opportunity isnt given. Btw, I have gained some respect for the R-Truth character tonight.

the aftermath was the saving grace of the whole thing... as long as truth doesn't go to that smooth talking crap he did a while back he can be a good heel... just needs an i don't give a fuck attitude and some "ruthless aggression" and he'll be in the upper mid card scene soon enough (not the title bc let's face it all signs point to Cena being in the picture up to mania and beyond)

That was not one of the best heel turns ever but I should take anything you have to say with a grain a salt because I know you love you some Truth. It was a good heel turn and the smoking bit was cool considering where Raw is being held. We'll see how he does in the next month before I judge more.

he looked sad because Jomo was his boy, he felt forced to do it because his boy turned on him (in his mind), the whole thing played out perfectly in my opinion. It was more of a look what you made me do type thing rather than a FTW thing.

I agree, the opening promo was terrible. Both guys tried so so hard to get over with the crowd whether it was being a heel or face and they just couldn't do it. The crowd was boo'ing both guys. Morrison and his terribad mic skills and jokes and Truth with his extremely annoying voice and mic skills.

Now for the heel turn, I have to say it was good and creative. It was random as hell but I actually enjoyed it. Truth was taunting the crowd, beating down Morrison even though not many fans seemed to care but still, it was cool. The smoking thing was the thing that made it interesting. Definitely caught me by surprise lol.

I liked the heel turn, but Raw on a whole was boring until Sin Cara broke up Miz and Riley's moment of chilling in the ring where Miz was trying to do his best Jericho impression. Excellent match and even Riley was better than usual. But Ziggler vs Bourne was a waste and another case Bourne jobbing.

This was great. The problem is...the IWC demands change. WWE offers by NOT having a ME guy open the show. EVERYONE BITCHES! These are 2 guys who dont cut promos so cut them some slack for trying.

I thought it was a great promo by both guys. It was a refreshing change of pace not to see Cena/Miz in the opening segment, give 2 guys some time to actually build something relevant. Most people in this forum post threads about this being "Morrisons time" and all that, yet once he gets on the mic, you dub it as an awful promo?

There was nothing wrong with what these 2 guys delivered, it told a story, Truths heel turn was very emotional given his tag team/friendly history with Morrison. So the way Morrison bashed him about getting lucky and heeled him into putting his spot on the line was really well done

At least with Rtruth I blame WWE. Hes the same character of K-kwik they fired years ago, so thats on them.

I think that the opening with Morrison and Truth left a little to be desired, but you have toi break a few eggs to make an omelet. I am excited about the new R-Truth, the aggressive side that we never see. I just hope that he can pull it off. Do you guys think that the beatdown is a way of semi-burying Morrison to push R-Truth especially considering he has that backstage heat that never really went away? Maybe I am looking too much into this. I guess we will see how this progresses up to Extreme Rules.

I'm not complaining about them getting the shot. I'm not complaining that they opened the show. But I'll level that my biggest complaint was with the writing. But as a lot of people have brought up, the promo itself didn't have much to it. They need work to get better, but I didn't even get the vibe that they were in it.

And I thought that the way Morrison dropped his lines was lame. He lacked what I would describe as belief in his own words. I didn't feel like he actually believed the words coming out of his mouth. And that's speaking for a character perspective.

I'm a little mixed on it. JoMo & Truth's timing was way off but I dug Truth's energy. I know Morrison's character is supposed to be sort of laid back and while I thought he was passable, he left a lot to be desired.

I thought the heel turn in and of itself, however, was pretty well done. I think it lasted longer than it should have but it was creative. You could hear lots of people chanting that it was illegal when Truth lit up his smoke since there's a smoking ban in public areas in London. You could hear a few of them yelling at Truth to think of the example he was setting for the children and I just got a little chuckle out of that. It's true that, especially in recent years, people have done everything possible to not promote smoking for the sake of kids and I just thought it was a cool little moment. Few things as disrespectful as someone blowing smoke in your face after they beat you down.

Watching this promo, it was awful.

And people seriously want John Morrison to be WWE Champion? After tonight I can't see how he still has a job. He just makes everything socially akward.

R-Truth did his best, but he's not a future World Champion. Morrison has got a more of a chance to be World Champion, but he is awful, so damn awful.
