I'm assuming such action was held off over the last few months, with the exception of three brief matches, to make people want to see them at SummerSlam. It worked, as that was the only match I really wanted to see.

As much as I enjoy good wrestling for free, part of a great build is keeping guys away from the fight. TBH, I'd never book Cena or Taker to wrestle for free.

Tarver didn't really get a chance. He was only there for about five minutes before he was eliminated by Morrison.

I still don't understand Slater getting two pinfalls during the match. Surely Barrett pinning Jericho would have made more sense.

Well, let's be honest: Barrett and (to a lesser degree) Gabriel would have to be the most recognizable guys in Nexus going into SummerSlam, so it's not as though they needed the wins. As a result, they gave eliminations to Skip and Heath instead. Why they see anything in Heath is beyond me, but Wade and Gabriel not picking up decisions doesn't shock me.
