History Of The IC Title DVD, Vote On WWE.com

WWE releases so many DVDs that this one would be really intresting if they just came up with the matches. Most wouldn't be classics. But at least we wouldn't get an influx of current wrestlers, and matches that are on every single WWE release.

yeah that DVD needs at least one Pat Patterson match on it. A Honky Tonk Match the Bret Hart/Piper one. Wasn't Muraco/Snuka in a Cage for the IC as well?

Not sure. But that's been on plenty of sets. I'd prefer a match a little more obscure. It's not like any set WWE does is definative, no need to start now.

These are 11 matches I came up with that should be considered for the DVD. I would love to see what everyone thinks about it.

Patterson vs DiBiase (1979) Birth of the Title
Morales vs Muraco (1983) This was the last of there title exchanges between the two.
Savage vs Steamboat (WM III 1987)
Honky Tonk Man vs Steamboat (1987) Start of Honky's 400+ day reign
Rude vs Warrior Feud or Mr. Perfect vs Santana (Mr. P 1st reign) or Both (1989-90)
Bret Hart vs Mr. Perfect (Summerslam 1991) Bret's first singles WWE title
Bret Hart vs Hot Rod (WM VIII) Bret's 2nd Reign
Bret Hart vs Davey Boy (Summerslam 1992) Wembley Stadium
HBK vs Davey Boy (SNME 1992) HBK's first singles title
Razor vs HBK (WM X or SummerSlam ladder matches)
Owen vs Austin (1997) either Summerslam or Survivor Series matches

Michaels/Jannetty (Rumble 93)
Michaels/Ramon

Also throw in

Muraco/Snuka
Warrior/HTM
Warrior/Rude
Hart/DiBiase (from MSG, a very rare, but great match)
Rock/HHH

and maybe

Orton/Edge
Hardy/Umaga

Not sure how many matches will be included but that would be a very solid DVD.

Knowing WWE, it'll probably include a lot of stuff from the last 10 years or so. Which will suck because since 94/95, the IC Title hasn't been anywhere near as meaningful as it used to be, and the matches haven't been anywhere near as good.

I only voted for matches I already didn't have on DVD. I mean, seriously... is it really necessary to have HBK vs. Razor on this DVD when it's already on 15 others? I know it's probably the biggest IC Title match ever, but I guarantee there isn't one person who would dish out the money for this who already hasn't dished out the money for another DVD that already has that match on it. Same case for a few other of those matches listed. They need to focus on giving us shit they already haven't put out.

What I was thinking was that the matches on the list are just to fill it out. What I'd think is that there are already a lot of matches that WWE knows are going to be on there already, and these are just the final matches to bring it up to however many hours they want to put it at.

Bret Hart Vs Mr.Perfect had better fucking be on there. My favorite match of all time, and one I could argue is the BEST match of all time.

If that match isnt on there, I may burst a blood vessel.

The matches that they have down on that thing are fine until it gets to voting for this decade. They don't have the Hardy Vs. Nitro ladder match in there.

Sorry Jake, but Edge vs. Orton at Vengeance 2004 was the best non gimmick IC title match in a long time and gets absolutely zero love.

I voted for ones that aren't on any other sets. WWE have never done a definative DVD in their life. People might say the ladder match. I say not. If it's definative it would have HBK/Razor at Mania, and the Hardy, Dudley, Edge & Christian match they left off.

No need to vote for Savage vs. Steamboat. That match gets more than enough love. I'd prefer a set that's different. So expect that match. The Warrior defeating Honky Tonk in 30 seconds, and lots of Jeff Hardy matches.

For no reason other than I didn't want the same matches I'd seen a million times before.

I like the Ramon vs Martel match, they should add the battle royal that lead up to that match as well.

I realized after looking over that list that all the best 90's matches for the title came from Bret Hart.
