The thing that I cannot wrap my mind around regarding a return by Goldberg for one last match is the logistics of how it would play out.
He allegedly wants to come back to show his son what he can do in the ring. OK, that's noble, but think it through. I cannot imagine he would come back as a heel in these circumstances, although it would be possible. In general, though, when guys return from lengthy absences, the fans cheer them and so it would be hard for him to be a heel, unless he did something drastic and sudden and "heelish" to draw immediate heat, but this just doesn't seem to be in keeping with impressing his son.
So he returns as a face. So who is his opponent. It would likely be a heel. Could be Edge, Jericho, Punk, or select few others but let's face it, with an ego as big as Goldberg's, he's not going to come back and face just anyone. For example, I don't think he'd come back to go against a relative newcomer such as Swagger or McIntyre. Again, I could be wrong but I just don't see it.
If he fights a big name, whether it be heel or face, I cannot see him losing. Why return from retirement only to lose a match, especially at Wrestlemania or something like that? Again, his ego will preclude it. So he would have to come back and be victorious in his swan song.
How does this benefit WWE? Having Goldberg return to defeat Cena, or HHH, or Orton, or any other guy who will be sticking around. I just don't think the upside would be enough to warrant this happening.
Forget him ending the streak. That's not happening in a million years, having the infamous streak ended by a guy who spent such a short time in WWE and was so critical of it since his departure.
I could see him coming back as a guest referee or something like this, and get involved in the action, especially if he's going into the Hall of Fame at the supposed WCW-themed WM27. Or having some action against another guy who's not sticking around (such as the Rock or SCSA). These scenarios are not that likely either.
So while on the surface it seems to be a good idea, I just don't see how logistically it could all play out to benefit all involved parties.
