Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

Hey Jglass i was wondering, how do you feel about Christmas songs? Do you have any favourites?

Also what are your thoughts on Kassius Ohno & Leo Kruger?

I never expected Big E to be so good. For the longest time I only knew him as the most symmetrical man in FCW.

So did I. I used to want him to be managed by the Bella's so they could do that rope flip thing together in their entrance and it would all look the same.

Hey Jglass i was wondering, how do you feel about Christmas songs? Do you have any favourites?

Prior to 2007 I had no strong opinion on Christmas music. Then I worked at a grocery store during the holiday season, and 8 hour of Christmas music a day can wear thin on one's patience very quickly.

That said, I do enjoy Bruce Springsteen's cover of Santa Clause is Coming to Town.

Also what are your thoughts on Kassius Ohno & Leo Kruger?

I really like Kassius Ohno, but I need to see more of him to really formulate an opinion about the character he's playing. I blow hot and cold on Leo Kruger. I'm not huge on him in the ring, and the thing he does with his hair is kind of unsettling, but that might be a good thing. If you mean how do I feel about them working together... I'd prefer to see Kassius Ohno go in his own direction.

NXT and Main Event are regularly the best shows WWE puts out.

I haven't watched any Main Event, but I kind of figured it was pretty much just Superstars. Maybe I'll watch it tonight. What time is it on?

What was the most irritating one? Pogues and Kirsty McCall?

I like Kruger's current gimmick and it's miles ahead of his king of Africa shit, I like KO but his promo's and some of his matches have a tendency to be inconsistent. Both men are pretty old though(33 & 32 respectively) so going off as single guys is probably a better idea.

Have any picks for the oscars this year? I would love to see the Woman in Black and Dredd 3D get some love but i doubt they will.

When I first saw clips of him I figured he'd be a serviceable big man, but not much beyond that. I don't know who he hooked up with in NXT that taught him how to be this good, but he should hold onto that person and never let go. Every step he takes is in perfect rhythm, every look on his face tells the perfect story... he's going to be big.

I'd guess Hunter's involved somewhere. He's the most notable person involved with NXT who wasn't in FCW.

I'm not a huge fan of him to begin with, but he put on a very good match with Jinder Mahal this episode and he can work the crowd.

Jinder might be dull as shit, but he knows how to wrestle a WWE match and has the seniority to be in charge. It's when Rollins doesn't have someone telling him what to do that he falls apart in depressing fashion.

My opinions on Ohno are decidedly more negative. Kruger on the other hand can be fantastic in the ring and on the mic when he's off the leash. Seriously, I cannot advocate watching him vs Bo enough. It's no Justin Gabriel vs Kaval, but still a damn good match. Also, my favourite FCW play by play guy's there. Remix <3 Matt Martlaro.

I'm meh on it. It's certainly the most interesting gimmick he's worked since coming to FCW, however his promos and matches aren't at the same level as they were during his "walking, talking, living, breathing Main Event" days.

But has he had the chance to work the long matches he worked in FCW? It's been mostly squashes which only work for so long. I like it and his voice is creepy as hell. I like his pairing with KO though solely because i loved the mix of finishers on Tyson Kidd.

Bo? No. No. NO!

Say whatever you want about Bo being a shit, worthless wrestler with no charisma who only got his spot due to nepotism(Because it's all true) but that's a fine match and that DDT spot at 3:35(ish) is ROH levels of brutality.

Bo? No. No. NO!

Yes Bo. Trust me Coco, Kruger makes Bo look 75-100 times better than he has in NXT. If you like I'll embed a match where Kruger has the same effect on someone trained by Lance Storm. Would that appeal to you more?

Except that Kruger rose up to get long matches by putting on very good short ones after his return from neck surgery. He got the ME spot (and would have had a spot in Ricardo's Ascension without Bo's injury) because of them, after all.

I'm not sure that's enough.

Probably. Not because I expect a lot of a Storm trainee. But because the guy won't be Bo.

I'm not sure that's enough.

Would it make you feel more comfortable if I said that Bo spends most of his time selling, which is the exact opposite of what they're trying to make Bo wrestle in NXT?

Probably. Not because I expect a lot of a Storm trainee. But because the guy won't be Bo.

OK. Behold, the only reason anybody thinks Mike Dalton is anything more than mediocre.

Dalton really was over like rover in FCW wasn't he? Kruger and Sandow made the guy a star in one night when all he did before was job.

It's on Wednesdays at 6 in Utah. It's actually a really nice little show. The matches almost always kick ass.

Probably means it's on at 8 here. I'll check it ou.

Did anybody else see the 3MB vs Gabriel/Kidd match on Main Event last night? It was really solid.

Not surprised, International Airstrike is awesome.

What was the most irritating one? Pogues and Kirsty McCall?

I don't know what this refers to, are those Christmas musicians?

Definitely, though I'm not sure Kruger is ever going to make in the WWE. Sure he has the size and a decent gimmick, but it'll likely get him no further than a dumb muscle role. Ohno has a shot, but he'll need to pull together all the pieces quickly.

Have any picks for the oscars this year? I would love to see the Woman in Black and Dredd 3D get some love but i doubt they will.

I'm not exactly the guy to ask about the Oscars as I'm usually not that concerned with awards shows, even for my beloved movies. That said, I think Lincoln will be getting a few nominations for acting, art, costumes, etc., and I think I can see DeNiro getting a supporting actor nomination for Silver Linings Playbook. It's also possible that Cloud Atlas could get nominated for a bunch of things, the most likely being best adapted screen play.

I'd guess Hunter's involved somewhere. He's the most notable person involved with NXT who wasn't in FCW.

What about Dusty? Speaking of, you gotta give that guy props. He looks like shit and he moves like shit, but he seems genuinely happy to be out there doing his thing on NXT. Helps that the crowd sends him a lot of love.

Jinder might be dull as shit, but he knows how to wrestle a WWE match and has the seniority to be in charge. It's when Rollins doesn't have someone telling him what to do that he falls apart in depressing fashion.

That's a problem with a lot of wrestlers. Hell, that's among Ziggler's biggest problems, and that was a problem for CM Punk for a while at the beginning of his career.

Bo? No. No. NO!

Now this is a sentiment I can get behind. Of all the guys I've seen on NXT, Bo Rotundo might be my least favorite. I see him as a shittier version of Richie Steamboat. Steamboat is bland, but charismatic because of his looks and his ability in ring. Bo Rutundo is bland, ugly, and not that great in the ring.

I like Ohno a lot. It might just be the ROH mark inside of me, but I think he's got a chance to be a really solid hand on the main roster. His biggest issues are his age, his complacency (seriously, dude phones some of his matches in, not too many though), and his lack of a "WWE body" -- but I don't think any of those will be an issue if he gets a chance to shine. I'd love to see he and Cesaro together on the main roster, but it's likely a pipe dream. Maybe if an eventual Cesaro main event push putters out, but I doubt it.

Kruger: More charismatic than you're giving him credit for being.

Dusty's great at everything except commentary. However, he's also been at FCW forever and Big E's improvement appeared from the middle of fucking nowhere.

Part of the problem you're having with Bo is that he's been used terribly. Bo is good at precisely two things, selling and building to his comeback. If he's booked to spend the match on offence it will suck. That's just how it works with him. Kruger and Sandow both clocked that and played to it, having good matches with him as a result. Others, not so much.

I'm also partial to Bo because of how well booked his ascent to the top of FCW was.

Awesome.

Hell, a Cesaro main event push seems like a ridiculous notion with the type of reactions he gets now, or the lack of reaction he gets now more accurately. I don't understand what is preventing him from getting major heat, but the audience just doesn't seem to hate him as much as they should.

Maybe it's just that we're too desensitized. What he needs to do is

Kruger: More charismatic than you're giving him credit for being.

Actually, I think that's exactly how much credit I give to his charisma.

Yeah, that's what I was asking. Fair enough.

I can't see that dude being at the top of anything. He seems like a slightly more talented Lucky Cannon to me.

Yeah, bet you wish you never heard that name again, huh?

Did Alex Riley manage to botch a dropkick?

Apparently. He's so bad in the ring, but that dude gets solid face pop every time he comes out. If I were him, I'd pick up my shit and go to TNA where I might have a dream of being used. Hell, if Matt Morgan can make it, why can't Alex Riley?

I like Richie Steamboat. He is sexy, and that appeals to me.

Riley, I have no idea how he gets a face pop. I guess it is because the last time he did anything relevant it was when he was feuding with the whiny heel Miz, and people hate that Miz. I'm not sure why there are a decent portion of guys in the non spam who thinks he deserves a push.

Actually, I think that's exactly how much credit I give to his charisma.

He's a better promo guy than Alberto, so it shouldn't limit him to a dumb muscle role.

Lucky is awful, was largely carried by Sandow and Maxine during his run at the top. However, I will give him credit where it's due for his run as top heel of FCW (yeah, it happened. It was a step up from the last two: Mason Ryan and Byron Saxton). The fact that he was a worthless pretty boy was made bearable by the fact that he was playing a worthless pretty boy and being a cowardly piece of shit. It was effective, and when Bo finally won the title it was a pretty awesome sight as they'd been building him up as the guy for months which a hell of an investment in FCW terms.

It helped that his first challengers were Sandow and Kruger who each hid his weaknesses well.

Maybe he likes WWE .
