Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

Black vs Bryan from ROH's television program. The action was as dull and flat as Dagger Dias' wits are dim. An hour of Aries vs Black at 2009's Final Battle just about did me in. And these are matches against guys I like. Sure, Black was involved in one of my favourite tag matches of all time (AotF vs MCMG). But his push also coincided with my declining interest in ROH. I can't forgive him of that.

That said, I really feel that WWE's developmental system has worked wonders on him. One of the view indy darlings I think has benefited tremendously from being trapped in purgatory.

I went out with a few friends this afternoon for a drink for one of their birthdays, and my black friend ordered a White Russian, and this old guy at the end of the bar looked at him and asked "Why would a man of your color be drinking that?"

We didn't know how to respond. My black friend finally looked over and said "I'm trying to blend in with these honky mutha fuckas and ordering a Colt 45 would blow my cover"

I liked Mr. Black's energy the few times I watched him on NXT. I think his finisher is kind of goofy, but cool at the same time. I'll reserve final judgement until he's been given some real TV time to work with.

Good to see racism is still alive and well here...

My first impression of Seth Rollins was seeing him in a dark match at a Smackdown taping a few years ago and him absolutely killing the previously hot crowd. It was baaaaad.

It's nice to hear he's gotten better, but it'll be hard to shake that stigma in my eyes.

Bitch Spasms might be annoying, but his FCW/NXT work is a godsend for those of us who had to sit through the lengthy ROH outings of Tyler Bland. The WWE style and agents are the best thing that's ever happened to him.

Oh, I sat through most of his ROH run. Can't say I enjoyed it.

I can't really speak to his ROH work, because outside of a few matches here and there on Youtube I don't watch ROH. We don't get it on TV here, and I'm lazy and don't feel like going through a lot of work to find it online. I don't know much about his development work either. I know that he was one of the first handful of guests on AoW, and he came off as this nice guy who is a real student of his trade, but his answers and stories were fairly vanilla.

If he is as you guys speak of him, hopefully he goes down the road Daniel Bryan did. I remember a time roughly a year ago that crowds were dead to Bryan because he was so bland and boring, but he worked at it and now he is one of the most charismatic guys on the roster.

I had a big day today, went to the store picked up the dinner rolls for Thanksgiving, & got a brand spankin' new cabinet for my bathroom wall.

Has anyone here played any of the Dead Space games? I get get Dead Space 1 & 2 for $15 each, wondering if it's a series worth jumping into or not.

I'm picking up Madden '13 off of Amazon (brand new) for $25. There's some deals this week, but you have to but it at a specific time (like, Thursday at 1 PM) or some shit.

Were they out of Purple Drink?...

JGlass, I know your love for indy films go deep. Silver Linings Playbook... it lives up to the hype, my friend. Daniel-Day Lewis will win the Oscar for Lincoln, but it should go to Bradley Cooper for his performance in this. Jennifer Lawrence will win, as will Robert De Niro most likely. They were all simply spectacular. And while the storyline has a sitcom level premise, the performances and quirkiness of it all just make this a very, very special film. I'm positive you're going to love it. If you plan on seeing any movies this Thanksgiving weekend, I highly suggest it's this baby here.

Saw the trailer for this when I saw The Master and immediately fell in love, though that could be a result of seeing Jennifer Lawrence in spandex... Seriously though, I'm really hoping I can find a theater nearby in NJ that's playing this, but if not I plan on seeing it when I return to Boston, this movie looks delightful.

Have you ever seen HappyThankYouMorePlease? I think it kind of matches the way you're describing Silver Lining Playbook.

Today is the day, I feel good.

Happy birthday Mr. Phatso. Happy 21st birthday even! Don't get too fucked up, you have to be semi-alert for Thanksgiving tomorrow.

I have the Texans on Dvr, and my mom is cooking the dinner. Lol so semi alert can happen around 3pm

I don't know if I'll even be able to stay up late enough to watch the entire Jets game after a long day of food lulz. I'll be able to catch the first half I'm sure, but after 10 PM rolls around I might have to mosey up to bed.

We're having my mom's co-workers over for dinner, and they're Muslim. This excites me greatly for two reasons.

One: I think it will be very culturally interesting to see how they approach Thanksgiving, though it would probably be better if they were hosting. The good/bad news is that my grandma isn't going to be here for the meal. This is bad news because I love my grandma and she's the bomb. It's good news because I'm pretty sure she hates Muslims and would probably say something offensive.

Two: Apparently my mom's co-worker and his brother are enormous, so if we put together a Thanksgiving football game I can play QB and just lob the ball up in the air and hope the tall guy catches it.

I watched some Seth Rollins matches. His entrance makes me want to kick him in the dick. It's like he asked "What makes Jeff Hardy so irritating?" and multiplied it by ten.

Seth Rollins makes me want to punch my TV. Bray Wyatt on the other hand, that dude is fucking interesting, & needs to be brought up to the main roster ASAP.

Bryan had shown oodles of charisma before he was signed. Black hasn't. They're hardly comparable.

Hopefully he gets the call soon. After his run with Nexus he went through two or three shitty gimmicks in development, but he works it as Wyatt.

You said Muslim and bomb in the same paragraph.

Invite me to Thanksgiving and I'll look at you like you have testicles for eyes. American Muslims will celebrate it almost identically to how you do, I'd imagine.
