Just got back from Argo. Pretty fantastic stuff. I wish I kept better track of the films I've seen in theaters this year so I could rank it, but Argo was definitely one of the more enjoyable ones.
I've still not seen any of Cloud Atlas or Argo, trailers and such. What are they about?
Just typed up a review in that review thread and after reading it, I feel like a dick. Don't worry though, I like being a dick.
Remember when people use to shit all over Affleck & call him terrible because he was in shit like Paycheck, Daredevil, Gigli, & Surviving Christmas, etc.? The he comes out & makes his directorial debut with Gone Baby Gone, hits that out of the park, that directs another home-run in The Town, & now kills it again with Argo. Turns out the Affleck fella has some talent after all. I'd have to say he's among my favorite filmmakers right now. I just hope he sticks to doing his own thing & doesn't go off & start doing remakes, sequels, or film adaptations of famous licensed products, I like what Afflecks doing right, not only cause his films are good, but they also feel fresh & different from all the reboots, unnecessary sequels, & cartoon/comic/book/ect. adaptations.
If I were to list the five movies that I've enjoyed the most this year, off the top of my head & in no particular order, I think I would have to go with the following
- Argo
- Looper
- Avengers
- TDKR
- Prometheus
Damn, I was hoping Argo was about Jason and his pals' quest for the golden fleece.
Prometheus made your top 5? That's rough. Go see Cloud Atlas to bump it.
Argo is actually short for Argo fuck yourself.
I was planning to, but had to wait for my cousin to get my uncles truck so we could get rid of all my grandmas leaves, which was stupid cause my uncle just decided to do it himself, but by the time that happened I missed the showing I was planning on going to. I was going to see Wreck it Ralph but got sucked into my game & just realized it started like 35 mins. ago, oh well, I'll just see Ralph later this week after work, probably Weds. cause there isn't shit on TV Weds. nights anyway, especially now that Baseball is done & Hockey is still in lock out mode.
I've heard nothing but great things about Wreck it Ralph, so I'll probably see that next weekend, probably in conjunction with The Man with the Iron Fists.
Just came back from Wreck it Ralph and holy fucking shit that was a fantastic film, if I had to make a top 5 of the movies I watched this year it would be
- Avengers
- Wreck it Ralph
- Seven Psychopaths
- The Expendables 2
- Ted
Mind you this is a list without seeing Argo, Cloud Atlas, and Tyler Perry's Witness Protection.
Review thread? What review thread?
Any of you **** see Louis CK host SNL tonight?
How the fuck did Prometheus and Expendibles make it on top 5 lists? Where's the Paranorman? Where's the Moonrise Kingdom? Where's Hunger Games?

I haven't seen Paranorman, Moonrise Kingdom, or Hunger Games. I can only go off movies I saw, & my list consist of movies I enjoyed, & I enjoyed Prometheus. The Master looks boring as hell to me, nothing about the movie interest me at all.
Dredd, Expendables 2, & Amazing Spider-Man would all be just outside of my top 5 as well.

I get the appeal of The Expendables, but I'm surprised to see so many people putting it in their fave 5 for the year, especially because I heard Expendables 2 was a mess.
End Of Watch is the only film worth talking about this year. If you haven't seen it, we have nothing to talk about. And even then, I doubt I'll be yammering for long.
I want to go see movies, but I have no car, so it's an awfully difficult proposition for me. There's a theater that's theoretically walkable from my dorm, but it's in a less than savory neighborhood...so.
