Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

Fucking hated the Madden '13 demo. The game hasn't been good since Madden '05, I swear. I mean, to each his own (I'm one of the poor souls that endured Madden '08 - '10, THOSE were shit), but EA's getting complacent with the lack of competition.

I played the Madden 13 demo. I liked it. I liked it a lot. I'll probably buy it now.

I'm tired so I wasn't at my best. I played solid defense, I think, but had trouble passing. Rushing was good though. I'll figure out passing eventually, I guess.

I just picked up Madden 13 myself, I've had it for about a week now and I'm almost done with the regular season in Coach Mode.

The gameplay itself is pretty good, but a little choppy. They tried to make collisions a lot more important (like if your guy runs into his own linemen he's going to bounce off of them hard, not just tap them), but it wound up making a lot of the tackles look pretty goofy. I can't tell you how many times I ran into a defensive lineman and both the guys go flailing backwards. Still, I think the running mechanics were pretty strongly improved.

Passing is... hard. Maybe it's hard for me because I've been using Mark Sanchez as my QB, but my offense is ranked the lowest in the entire league and I throw INTs with startling regularity. Luckily, my defense is number one, so there's that. Oddly enough, I find that the routes I used to never be able to hit in Madden 11 are now some of my best options in Madden 13, where routes like the slant or the deep fly routes are now some of the scariest passing moments for me when they were my favorites in Madden 11.

Also, the player ratings are kind of ridiculous. Stephen Jackson is rated a 97, higher than Adrian Peterson, Arian Foster, or Ray Rice. Da fuck Madden?

As for the franchise mode itself... I'm not a huge fan of it at this point. If you play coach mode they assign you weekly tasks that are generally annoying, like scouting individual draft picks each week, dealing with contract negotiations (I don't want to resign Matt Slaughson, but here he is every week trying to get a new contract. Take the hint dude!), and practice (which you can fortunately simulate).

I haven't done the post-season stuff yet, nor have I tried player mode, so I can't comment to those yet. Overall I'm a little disappointed by the changes (especially the fact that you can't fantasy draft a team for franchise), but the gameplay makes up for the changes they made to franchise mode.

I might be overrating Madden a bit, but the sheer polish is just wonderful. I mean, the commentary sounds like a real football game, even if it occasionally repeats itself. It's beautiful. I guess it's probably since I just got off playing Backbreaker, which is good football, but looks pretty bad.

It's somewhat unsettling that passing appears difficult in general, but hey, I'll probably be playing as the Browns, so...Trent Richardson's gonna be getting that ball a lot.

Oh & the CM Punk DVD is fucking awesome, well worth the money. Seeing Punk dance on the side of the stage at a Rancid show made me chuckle a little.

Did you know the exclusive liscense is up, ummm this year or the next?

The greatest football game of all time may just make its retuuuurrrnnn

Yesssiiiiirrr

You can find pretty large cummunities of people who still laud the last one they came out with.

I am right there with them. Things got done in that game that STILL haven't been caught up to.

As am I, those games were far superior, & cost less. The last year before EA made their deal with the NFL, beleive the NFL2K game was $20 brand new, while Madden was trying to sell their game form $50, 2K gave you everything the Madden game had that you wanted & more. I miss that series. 2K also had the first person play, which was unique, & something I've never seen done since.

Doubtful, he was getting pushed in the back punched in the ribs & kidneys, fans were threatening to shove him down the stairs & then he got "tagged" in the back of the head, & security was nowhere to be found, it was a clear case of self defense, he just happen to smack the wrong guy. He & WWE already issued apologies, & called it an isolated incident. People are really blowing this out of proportion.

I giggled at this a little bit.

CM Punk made the front page of Yahoo, but probably not in the way he would have liked to.

I'm worried about how much momentum this story is picking up. This could be bad news for Punk.

Let's try to remember that Chris Jericho punched a woman in the midst of a main event program with Rey Mysterio.

Also a very clear reason to hate Kickstarter(Although the host swears a bit too much):

I thought the Jericho incident happen during his program with HBK, ironically the same program where he punched HBK's wife in the face in the ring.

I'm nearly done with season 4 of Breaking Bad. Such an amazing season, but an even more amazing show. I don't want it to end.

Lulz, what does that even mean? Of course the show as a whole is better than any one season.

Yeah, Breaking Bad kicks ass. It was a huge fucking bummer at the end of this half season knowing we have to wait another year for the finale. Shit.

I need to get into this Breaking Bad craze. I've seen one episode and it drew me in though I had no idea what was really going down. Hell I don't even remember the episode.

Watched the Punk documentary this morning, rather enjoyable. Watching again cause my best friend wants to indulge into it. More so browsing the web instead of paying attention haha.

It's mindblowingly good. Like, fucking great.

Shit's gonna hit the fan with the final half season, man. I heard grumblings of what goes down in the first half of season five and I can't even imagine where they'll go from there.

Actually, you get a pretty solid idea of where they're going at the very beginning of season 5. It's how they get there and why that is of interest right now.

Yes you do, it's the most addictive show on television (Yeah, you all see what I did there ;))

I watch the doc & some of the special features last night, now I'm watching the matches, just finished the ECW title match he had with JoMo.
