Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

I think entrance music is a criminally underlooked aspect of wrestling. People don't give it nearly enough thought. A quick glance around the WZCW wrestlers' themes should tell you that. I could go for days on picking entrance music to fit characters.

...Might make that a thread in WZCW. Fantasy booking and theme-changing. Hm.

Heh, I like that. I heard tales of Ryback getting over with them. Wonder how they would have reacted to RAW's ending.

I really love Ryback's current theme, actually.

The newest edit is finally done right. The one inbtween the first one and the current one was fucking ugly as all get out.

I object to that.

Do it.

Um, Sentry fought Galactus? Funny, I thought that was supposed to be a fake...

One of my buddies ha a proper hard on for Sentry. He was unbelievably pissed off when Sentry couldn't beat Hulk, I figured je'd've told me if it was fake but I asked him after checking Wikipedia (as is the style) and he said it happened so I ran with it. Double Confirmation!

I object to that.
You would.

I might, just not sure what angle to use for the thread. Tempted to just make it a thread where I suggest better themes for people and question their theme choices (Grand Mystique immediately comes to mind and someone who REALLY needs a theme change) but feelings might get hurt.

As for fantasy booking, JGlass and I booked a pretty fantastic WZCW feud last night. I'll wait for him to make that thread if he wants, but I have to say it was a pretty cool idea.

Sentry has the power of one thousand exploding suns.

Z tanks universe destroying attacks while smiling.

As for Ryback, I like him but I find him too rough around the edges to be feuding with the top talent yet. I don't want him pulling a Jack Swagger. I'd rather him work a good program with the Miz.

You would.

Only because I'm one of the guys who puts thought into the themes of the character, despite my limited repertoire. Anyone who can think of a more perfect theme for Reese, MOM, Stark or Wunderbar gets eternal rep from me.

You can't make a feedback omlette without breaking a few egos.

Please post it...

I loved that song from Daisy x Daisy. The piano intro was gorgeous.

I used that for 5 months straight, and really it was a toss up between that and this...

Although 10's suits Celeste better as a heel, but this song will probably be my next.

Jack Swagger had a few moments of brilliance during his title run, like when he brought his trophy collection to the ring.

What is this? Cheerleading? For school?

Cheerleading. Stunt cheerleading to be specific.

Yes, it's the manliest sport in existence. Ended up with my head between a girl's legs in a room full of people watching, and the session wasn't even half over. Oh, and the risk of injuries is considerably higher than pussy sports like American Football. Like I say, it's a sport for manly men and badass women.

University, so yes I suppose so.

Did you tweet me today?

Not that I'm aware of. Why, did you get a tweet from @PatonDrugs?

A common opinion among many foreigners is that American football or "hand egg" isn't a tough sport due to the amount of padding they wear. I can never tell if Remix is serious or being a trolly dick.

It isn't hurling or Aussie rules football but there are many dangers there.

It's unbelievable how well they write comedy in Mass Effect. They manage to make some very funny jokes without making it ever detracting from the graveness of the mission.

And yes, Javiik's terribly depressing existence of being the only Prothean in the entire galaxy is offset nicely by the fact that he's hilarious.

It truly is. It's quite sad to find out what he wants to do after defeating the Reapers though, if you encourage him to touch the Memory Shard.

By the way guys, if you haven't found out by now, this conversation is spoiler infested. So yeah, don't read if you plan on playing the game for the first time later or are in the middle of doing so.

Definitely! I was certain that when I chose to save the Queen that the entire Krogan squad would die, and it seemed like Shepard did too... but then Grunt comes stumbling out (as you said, drenched in blood) and Shepard's eyes light up. Of course, he wouldn't be a Krogan if he didn't drop a badass line... "I'm hungry!"

It truly painted out elite Grunt was and how he was indeed the perfect Krogan.

Yes. It did, Grunt's ultimate test. For the first time you see him whoop ass on his own without your assistance. Grunt surviving was BioWare proving people don't have to die to incur emotions in a war game of this scale. Even if people do die...

I fucking hated Kai Leng.

So much to cover in here, haha.

Zaeed is okay, his loyalty mission is pretty bad ass, but he's kind of an asshole. Definitely the biggest jerk on your crew.

Kassumi drives me nuts because it always seems like she's simply around just to be a typical "quirky Asian girl" character. However, her loyalty mission is unbelievably good, and probably the best non-combat centric mission in the trilogy (not that there are many to begin with, I can only think of Kasumi, Thane, and Samara's loyalty missions). That brings me to another point altogether...

The Loyalty missions were awesome. In most games where you have to earn a character's trust or something they make you find them something or kill someone from their past. In Mass Effect 2 they make you track down an abandoned father that has turned into an island overlord and used the local flora to make his crew into his mindless slaves. Or you have to help a mother kill her daughter because it's part of her code. Or you have to help someone learn to control themselves by taking place in some sort of manhood ritual. Just another example of why the ME series is so great.

And finally: yeah, the ability to build the story up from big to bigger to huge was phenomenal, as was the continuity they put through every game. Sometimes it's small things like Garrus's continued journeys, or sometimes it's something awesome like EDI being the rogue Luna VI.

Zaeed's total disregard for the lives at the oil refinery in his loyalty mission certainly surprised me, even if he was a mercenary. In my first ME2 playthrough I ended up choosing saving those lives over his loyalty and to be honest I don't regret it at all after finding out how little he's involved in ME3.

Samara's loyalty mission is in my top three with Mordin's and Jacob's. I kind of felt sorry for Morinth when finding out about her condition and that she had to die for not wanting to spend her life in a monastery. That was until I find out what she did to Nef. Jacob's loyalty mission totally surprised me, and is a reminder of just how twisted people can be, at any point in their lives, no matter how normal they may seem. His father's cowardice demanded retribution. I loved Kasumi, she's a lot like Garrus. And her adventures make her sound just like a female Robin Hood. Again I was disappointed by how she was used in ME3, thought they could have EASILY just thrown her in your party as a permenant party member. That would have been great.

Character-driven stories are awesome. Or at least when BioWare does them.

I don't think we need to speak in Spoilers for this part anymore, lulz. I'd put Ashley below Jacob for sure, maybe not James. Jacob is interesting because of his journey as a character and his relationship with his father. James is a little more difficult, but if you get to learn about him you'll see he's not as shallow as it seems. He has a very sad back story where he made a tough decision, and it turned out to be the wrong one. He also has the tough outer shell but he comes to Shepard for advice time and time again. His relationship with Cortez is also pretty interesting.

I know, I think our entire conversation was spoiler infested except for the part we actually spoiler tagged. Derp. Even though James has little (at least when you compare him to everybody else) depth, he still wasn't a bad character. Just one that wasn't necessary I felt, I'd replace him with Zaeed or Grunt as a party member without hesitation if it was an option. I always wondered about his relationship with Cortez, and just how that came about, but you don't find out. The thing is with Jacob that when you compare him to all of your other party members in ME2, you can't help but see him as little bit boring, but he's still a good character. I'd have replaced James with him in ME3 too. My bottom three party members in the ME trilogy is probably; Ashley, Jacob then James right at the bottom in that order although I'm probably forgetting somebody. I must remind you this isn't a bad thing, every character in Mass Effect has a good level of intrigue about them.

The only part of Skyrim's final mission that I really liked was the location. It was beautiful and the battle's setting felt epic, but the battle itself was just another typical fight, except you had 3 very powerful allies helping you.

Yes, fighting in Sovngarde certainly was a neat idea. The fight itself was just too easy, I like difficulty in games. For example: Retaking Earth in ME3 was difficult, and I loved it, because it SHOULD have been difficult. All that build up shouldn't give you a walk in the park, then Skyrim's main storyline (which I delayed for ages in an attempt build anticipation) ending did just that. For me, the Dark Brotherhood, College of Winterhold and Thieves Guild questlines were far better.
