Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

Well good luck with your step-dad, Theo. If they're running tests on him he must be fairly stable, so hopefully everything works out.

And good luck to you too, Remix.

Hope things turn out well Theo. Like J said it sounds like he is stable considering what they are doing. My mom was 95% blocked two years ago and she was fine after they out a stent in and she got on some meds.

Remix, good luck growing up. I hope to get there one day myself.

I have six bios done. We are getting the storms from the tail end of Hurricane Ike and my internet has been shit all day so research has been kinda slow. Spider-Man is my only super left though and those have been taking more time to write than boring old humans. I could do Spidey out of memory though so even if I can't stick around on teh interwebz I'm good there.

Fair. But hey, it could be Diomedes who wounded two Olympians in a single day.

Did that then make them, Paralympians *chortle chortle*

True enough, though Hector got beaten by Diomedes on two separate occasions, so it's notsurprising that he got roflstomped by Achilles.

The original set got taken by Hector when he killed Patroclus. Odysseus ended up with his set forged by Hephaestus by beating Ajax, who then went mad and killed himself.

My schoolboy knowledge of the Iliad is being horribly exposed, but thats no different from anything else once I am challenged on it.

Just got back from the hospital. Things are looking up. He was talkative and even referred to my brother's best friend as "the cunt". Which is good cause that is what he usually calls him. He is in good spirits. So all should be good barring any complications. Thanks for the support fellas, means a lot to me. A few years ago this probably wouldn't have bothered me much as we never really talked or seen eye to eye but this past year he has opened up and we've developed a good relationship.

Today was suppose to be a good day. Football is starting but I get a phone call at 10 this morning telling me to come downstairs. I figured I was getting called into work, so I was not pleased. It turns out the call was to tell me that my stepdad was being rushed to the hospital for a potential heart attack. Now I'm not that close to him but the past year I've found out he is actually a pretty cool guy. It sucks. Right now all I've been told is that he had a heart attack and they are running some test on him, no idea how bad it is though or if there is any blockage.

Man & I thought I was having a shitty day. That sucks, I remember get teh phone from my mom when my dad die, I don't think I've ever gone from being happy to numb so fast in my life. That is truly the worst call you can ever get. Fortunately it sounds like your step dad is still kickin' & you got more time with him.

I knocked out 5 over the 3 day weekend, now that Crock has graciously taken 3 from I have two left, hopefully I can bang out Psylocke tonight & possibly at least get started on Joker (which I assume will take longer of the two). I figured Hulk would be easiest but instead his was probably the hardest to put together, Batman was a little tricky as well just because there is so much history there, & his abilities & assets list are so long

Yeah, heart attacks suck initially, but if you survive you can go back to an almost normal life. Hope he gets to go home soon man.

Now, if the USA is half as competent as the UK, he should be taking Aspirin once a day, Clobidogrel (one brand name is Plavix) once a day for 6 months or a year, depending on what they did while he was in hospital, a statin (Simvastatin, usually) at night, an ACE Inhibitor (e.g. Ramipril) once a day and a beta blocker (e.g. atenolol) once a day. Yes, it is depressing that I know that off the top of my head.

I noticed the characters I knew a lot about without doing research were the ones I had trouble with. Like with Deadpool and Spider-Man, I had so much history I had to try to hit the key points.

I know how that feels. My dad died in 2003 when I was 14. We knew it was coming as he was battling cancer but he was suppose to die during the summer and he managed to make it to December. But the toughest thing I've ever had to do (and nothing will top this) was telling my dad that is was ok for him to pass on. He refused to die and he needed to hear from my mom, sister, brother, and myself that it was ok for him to move on as there was no chance for him to beat it. I spent that final week in the hospital with him and having to tell him that it was ok to leave us was brutal. He couldn't talk or anything but he did grasp at my hand, pretty much a final goodbye.

I know he is on Plavix for sure and a blood pressure pill is sure to follow. But don't worry I know exactly what you are talking about. Working in a personal care home I learn a lot about meds, names, and their functions and side effects. Not sure what else he is on besides Plavix though. I know they said he needs to go one a fat free, salt free, no caffeine diet. He isn't exactly thrilled about that, he loves his coffee haha.

And a blood thinner, warfarin (coumadin) was another because they need to get some blood from clotting or whatever. Hence the blood thinner.

Not at all, man. I think it's awesome that we have such a collection of people with a wide variety of specific skills and knowledge that we can refer to for anything. You for the whole drug store thing, JGlass bangs the hell out of Pancake's mom, Barbosa knows a few things about ancient history, Theo's got the facial hair grooming on lock down, IC's helped me out with work, I can carry my own weight when it comes to firefighting shit. As soon as Yaz amounts to something, I'll sure he'll be a valuable asset to something.
