Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

I refuse to ever ever be told I'm looking into anything too much. There's this idea that all art is scrunched up into dignified little categories. The truth is artists just make things, it's an audience who creates art. We make art by looking to see what we can see, and not stopping.

I always got so frustrated when we would discuss poetry in high school. Everyone, fucking everyone, would say, "I think you're reading into it too much." Infuriating.

This is why I turn my brain back a nodge when watching wrestling. That way I don't complain about anythin in WWE or TNA.

I just realized a great example of John Cena's pride getting in his way of succeeding: his MITB cash in. He refused to take the shortcut and cash it in the cheap way, the way that won CM Punk two of his titles. He did it the honest way and look what happened: he got screwed out of a chance to win the title. Granted, he got the shot back, but he could have (and probably would have) won that match had Big Show not interfered and cost him the match. And once again, that goes back to the business aspect of wrestling interfering with the storytelling aspect of wrestling.

For the record, Harthan, I don't think you're reading into this too much. I just think you're wrong.

I just said it. Advance upon me sir.

Seriously though I can see where you are coming from, I don't always take things at surface value and I often enjoy digging a little deeper. Maybe you are just smarter than me, but I don't see the purpose in digging so deep into this. It's wrestling, I enjoy it, I don't need to try to find out why I enjoy it, I just do.

And I see it the opposite way, of course. Cena cashing in the MITB case would compromise his integrity, therefore he insisted on doing the right and honorable thing in having a proper match. And then, therefore, it wasn't his pride that cost him the title, but Big Show.

I get that people dislike Santino. Personally I love the guy, and I find it annoying that more than a few people who dislike him because he is gimmicky call for more characters in pro wrestling today. I just can't stand when people, Dagger included, say that Santino ruined the US title.

I feel that it was the fact that he held the title for close to 5 months that cheapened the US title. He was one of the most popular guys when he won it, but should have lost the title atleast by Extreme Rules.

Took a look at the IMDb page of Oldboy US. Sharlto Copley seems to be playing the bad guy with the name Aiden Pryce, Brolin's name will be Joe Douchett.

Then it's a good thing this thread isn't called "Fat Ass: The OFFICIAL Yazloz Thread", isn't it?

Unfortunately, I've just been informed that nobody likes you and you are a smelly poo face.

I'm gonna change the topic to something most of us agree one, Dagger and his opinions on wrestling. Earlier he posted Santino is never legit threat to titles because he is a comedy jobber for life. Clearly that must be true since it's a user title

A.)Dagger is fucking stupid & almost always wrong in his opinions on wrestling

B.)The fact that Santino has had 3 lengthy & successful mid card title reigns kinda proves him wrong

I don't like Superman

I just don't like the lack of weakness in Superman, makes it really hard to get behind, I do however like what Superman stands for, & represents

For the record, I don't need a heel turn - though I'd love one. I just want to see him do something that isn't so awfully bland all the fucking time.

But he isn't bland, he's perfectly entertaining, if you find him bland that's on you.

I've just never liked Superman. I have a friend who is obsessed with Superman because he had a shit relationship with his dad and he relates to Superman and Jor-El. It just bugs me.

I don't think your friend understands Superman then, Superman had a great relationship with his adoptive parents, & his relationship with Jor-El is non-existant cause Jor-El blew up with the rest of Krypton sending Supes to Earth. I'm sure if Jor-El had somehow manged to survive, Kal-El would been like "Thanks for saving my life dad, you sure are a swell pop" *hug*, & then Jor-El woulda been like "No Problem son, hey, how about we go get a ice cream? how does that sound?, & Kal-El would be like "Gee golly poppa, that sounds great!!", & then they'd skip off to the ice cream store.

Also I get the Loyalty and Respect, but isn't Hustle a negative thing?

It really depends on what definition is being used

hus·tle/ˈhəsəl/

Verb: Force (someone) to move hurriedly or unceremoniously in a specified direction: "they hustled him into the back of a car".

Noun: Busy movement and activity.

If Cena is using it as a noun, which I assume he is, then no. I think when Cena uses it he means, constantly working & moving toward his next goal.

They're irrelevant. Minor details. It's the big picture stuff I'm concerned about.

Do you watch Ponies with this same mindset?

The only thing wrong with Santino's 5 month reign as US champ was that they never booked him to defend the title, I blame creative for that... & Miz, not Santino.

Always gotta blame Miz.

I don't like Superman for a similar reason, he lacks weaknesses. He is basically indestructible with his powers heightened by Earth's yellow sun, until he comes across some green rock, and he is about as helpless as a premature baby

I met a guy at the bar last night who claims he's in 46 FF leagues, & didn't auto-pick in any of them, & here I though me being in 4 was a lot.

And I see it the opposite way, of course. Cena cashing in the MITB case would compromise his integrity, therefore he insisted on doing the right and honorable thing in having a proper match. And then, therefore, it wasn't his pride that cost him the title, but Big Show.

And therein lies the conflict. He could have taken the easy way out and cashed it in after the champ was weakened, but because Cena refuses to compromise on his morals he waited to have a real match.

Bit like MITB last year when he refused to do a screwjob finish on Punk.

That's probably an even better example considering his refusal directly cost him the match.

That's what I like about you FunKay, you always pop in with a relevant moment in wrestling history. That and a few other things, but mostly your ability to recall relevant moments in wrestling.

Sigged. I may not have KB levels of wrestling obsession, I know my history well enough to pop up at the relevant moment.

Raw superstars fly out tomorrow to arrive in Aus. That gives the WWE 365 days to rehire Rob Van Dam and build up Drew and Micheal Mcgillicutty and have Edge Miraculously be able to compete again and have HBK return from retirement...

I could only dream... I'm kicking myself for not going a few years back when I had the chance.

There was once a time when I'd have seriously considered trying to become a WWE section mod. Now I don't even post there any more. So much stupid.

I remember when Jonny recruited me. He was like, "you're a good poster and you're not a dick, wanna be a mod?" And I was like, "Sure. What's a mod?"

I was new to forums in general back then.
