Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

Who has, against unbelievably overwhelming odds, has kept the X-Men safe and free for over a decade, maybe two. He might be an egotist, but the greatest leaders usually are.

He's also a man then went against everything he was taught by a man that took him in & raised him like a son, & instead opted to use brute force to accomplish what he believed in. He gave up on Xaviers dream of cohabitation & moved the X-men to, as Havoks puts it, Magneto Island, & decided to use the Pheonix force, a force he watched erode & kill the woman he loved, a force than has destroyed several worlds in path on it's way back to Earth, a force that he nearly used to eradicate the human race. Cyclops is no more a great leader than Magneto was. He grew up gave up on Xaviers dream because it wasn't getting the results he wanted then he killed the man. Cyclops is a piece a shit.

I just got back from Cloud Atlas, and it was one of the best movies I've ever seen. It has action, comedy, drama, romance, and all of it is done amazingly well. I recommend seeing it ASAP.

Going to go across town to see that and Seven Psychopaths today. It has to be worth the extra trip.

My journey yesterday was a terrible one. Silent Hill was crap. Atmosphere good, but still nowhere near the level of creepy that we get from the game. Not really enough scares, either. Bland story, bland actors. Only high point was Malcolm McDowell, that was a nice surprise but he was only on screen for about 5 minutes.

Cable for me, with Cyclops and Gambit right behind him.

Ah, another one that appreciated the greatness that is Cable. Good man, sir. My top 5 are:

Magneto
Cable
Iceman
Wolverine
Jean Grey

That team would fuck some shit up in the universe.

I thought both WHC & WWE title matches were in the Cell. What the fuck is the point of calling the PPV Hell In A Cell if only one match on the damn card takes place in the Cell?

Its been a problem with themed PPV's for a while. The cards would be much more exciting if all matches took place under the gimmick rules rather than one or two. I have just heard them reference Show\Sheamus at HIAC and not in HIAC.

Either way he could use the steps, but will likely hit him while he is on one knee. I dont even think it will take just one shot either. Show will take 2 kicks & in dramatic WWE fashion- Sheamus wins and Show goes home crying\throwing furniture\punching announcers & jobbers on the way out.

Because things were going so well under Xavier. There's a reason he was kicked out by the X-Men, and that's because he wasn't the man they thought he was and his dream was just that, a dream. Cyclops isn't popular because what he does is cold, calculated, but it's always what's right. That's what makes him an amazing character: he shoulders the burden of being a bad guy everyday, and he does it without hesitation.

That's going to be a long trip to the movies.

Magneto

Iceman
Wolverine
Jean Grey

He's just so ridiculously badass. Half his body is metal and he has a giant gun. Oh, and he's traveled here from the end of time... if that counts for anything.

And I can't bring myself to consider Magneto as a member of the X-Men, otherwise he'd be close to the top of my list too. He's easily in my top 5 favorite comic book characters period. That list would probably look like...

Cable
Magneto
The Thing
The Punisher
Cyclops

No particular order there.

Could you not consider that maybe Xavier's dream of peace between mutants and humans just flat out impossible? Time and time again Cyclops puts his fellow mutants out on the wire to just have the humans step all over them and then try to kill them afterword. Cyclops might have been a tyrant but he was a tyrant that went above and beyond to ensure that mutants will always have a place in the world. He might have gone off the deep end mentally a few times, but nobody else would have been able to make the choices Scott had to make.

Oh my top 5 in no order.

Iceman
Daredevil
Human Torch
Wolverine
Spiderman

And just for the sake of pushing DC out there here's my top 5.

Flash
Green Lantern
Green Arrow
Blue Bettle
Superman

So it's ok Cyclops nearly extinguished all human life on Earth, yeah gotcha, yeah clearly the right decision:rolleyes:. Gotta love the Cyclops apologists.

That why Cyclops is one of the true leaders. Even when the decision seems to go against the grain and piss alot of folks off- he still stands by it.

That's going to be a long trip to the movies.

I dont mind a double feature day as long as the flicks are worth it. They are 2 different movies, so its not like i would get bored. I tried to watch all 3 LOTR movies b2b once and I couldnt sit there that long. The cinematography and scenery was great, but take away that and the battle scenes and you still have essentially 2hrs + of just guys walking around or setting up camp.

I have sat through all of the Star Wars trilogy though without a issue as well as a "Brosnan as Bond" marathon in Austin. Those were good days.

Comic characters of all time? I always wanted to see a team of these guys:

Batman
Spiderman
Wolverine
Iron Man
Spawn
Hulk
Jean Grey

Wayne, Parker and Logan teaming up would be awesome. Thats a team I would send in on a stealth mission right there. The other 4 would dismantle a freaking army in seconds.

Favorite X-Man? I'd probably say Gambit or Psylocke.

As far as my top 5 comic book characters:

Deadpool (I know, I know, shut up. I've been a fan of Deadpool for at least 8-9 years.)
Psylocke
Fantomex
Daken
The Punisher (when they don't have some fucked up story for him)

Loki is up there as well.

Edit: Fuck, I forgot about Domino as well.

This is why I respect Cyclops. I wouldn't put him in my top 10 comic characters, but I really respect him because he sticks to his convictions. Except in AvX, I thought they went over the top with turning him into an asshole. Then again I felt like they tried way too hard to push the villain angle on the X-Men the whole series.

I love Deadpool man. I would honestly say has been my favorite comic character for about six years.

I do have a question, not just for Ty, but anyone. What is it that makes Gambit so popular? Like to me, and I'm sure I will get shit for this but I still love you guys, he would a decent mutant if he just had his powers. I think they try way too hard to give him that roguish attitude and dark past that makes Wolverine so popular and it doesn't work that well for me. His accent is fun for about 5 minutes before I feel like I'm going to lose brain cells.

I would say all time comic character list would be, in no order.

Spider-Man
Deadpool
Colossus
The Thing
The Punisher
Thor
Black Mask(The Original)
The Hulk
Hawkeye
Beast/The Hood(The two are tied because I have really been getting into The Hood lately, but I've been a fan of Beast for much longer)

The vs. The Marvel Universe one in the link you posted sounds interesting. Maybe I'll pick that up when I have some extra cash sometime soon.

Definitely check that out, I've always enjoyed Deadpool but seeing him be less of a joke teller and more mentally deranged calculated killer who hides his insecurities with occasional one liners was a breath of fresh air from the way Daniel Way writes him. It's really violent and enjoyable as well.

This is just sad. What the hell....

I really don't like Halloween. I appreciate seeing all the ****ty costumes, but it just makes people sad, and it makes me realize how little I want a hook up and how much I want someone that I can actually engage with intellectually as well as sexually.

I'm an awful college student, aren't I?

Literally none of them have anything in common with the hero they're matched up with, unless that's Jack Swagger matched up with Captain America, but even so Hulk Hogan would be a better representative.

CM Punk as Iron Man? Really? Iron Man is an alcoholic tech head, and CM Punk is a straight edge professional wrestler. There are literally zero similarities.

I had a similar outlook at university and I still do today.

I say that as well, but having the intellectual capacity of a marshmallow really opens the field up for me

I am up at 9:30 AM to watch Everton kick Liverpool's asses. Oh it's true. It's damn true.

Edit: Apparently it wasn't true, let alone damn true.
