Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

Genghis Khan might have made a solid Revolutionary War general, being that he was great with hit and run tactics. Unfortunately, he was also use to having plenty of disposable soldiers as he had the majority of Mongolia in his charge.

Actually, a numerical advantage isn't always something he had. Especially in the earlier days. Case in point, half the population of Mongolia live in one city built when the Soviets ran the show. The rest are nomads in the most sparsely populated country on earth.

The first place he invaded was China.

That's unfair. They obviously know a little about 1940-1945 too.

If Hitler was more interesting I wouldn't have minded studying him so regularly. However, he just isn't.

Sounds more like an English paper than a History paper.

Well the Professor I'm taking is pretty cool in the sense he doesn't want to overload us with the vast amount of mindless paperwork most History classes insist on giving us. We still have to our research and studies into Washington, like what tactics he used, his prior history, and how he handled what happened after the war. I'd rather write this paper than the papers I had to actually write for English.

So my history teacher asked the class to write a 2,000 word paper on who could have replaced Washington in the American Revolution as the General. It can be anyone as long as they aren't crazy weird like comic book hero's.

So right now I'm currently torn between Hulk Hogan and John Rambo. Can anyone help me out with making the choice here?

Chris Evans, he is Capt. America, can you think of anyone more fitting to command the troops as they fight for the independence of America than Capt. fucking America.

You would be even more surprised about how little the Second World War is studied.

That's very true. I got a minor in history and I intentionally avoided anything about WWII besides a class specifically on Nazi Germany.

Found out today one of our drivers suffers from severe motion sickness, & has thrown up in one of our vans, so they gave her one of the brand new vans...

A- Why would you hire a driver is they get motion sickness?

B- Why would a person who gets motion sickness apply for a delivery route driver position?

C- Why would you give someone who gets sick & has a history of puking in her van a brand new fucking van?!

14 hours until my 5 day weekend starts. I'm really looking forward to this too much, but fuck it, it's been a looooong month of classes without much relief.

About 336 hrs. till my 6 day birthday weekend, it can't come soon enough.

And yes I used 4 days of vacation time for my birthday, I do this every year.

Jesus would have made a good George Washington...

All healing people and shit. Fuckin A.

Barbossa, why isnt Alfred the Great more publiscized? He is like a fucking real King Arthur, without all the magic and shit. That story is WILDLY improbable, but he pulled it off. Bad motherfucker.

There's a Bernard Cornwell book about Vikings in England and Alfred plays a huge role in it, eventually winds up joining forces with the main character (if I remember correctly). You'd love it. The first book in the series is The Last Kingdom. Read it.

THAT DOESNT SOUND HISTORICALLY ACCURATE AT ALL

Alfred was a dude the repelled the Vikings from England, right? And in the book he fights up Vikings.

You'd like it. Trust me. It's got awesome battles and historical fiction.

Oh I just meant if anyone is joining anyone, the main character should have been joining Al, not the other way round.

You do make it sound good times though.

Yea your right, albeit thats putting it very mildly. it was like if Red Dawn happened, and the king of uh...Wisconsin....rallied all the other outposts to retake most of the country back. The Kingdom of Wessex was stronger than Wisconsin, but I mean on the scale of "there is no fucking way this could ever happen" its about the same.

Fair enough, though if my memory serves me correctly the main character is the King, or at the very least a noble of East Anglia, and he has a pretty sizable army as well as some pull with the Danes. It's been a looooong time since I've read it, so you should read it and set my memory straight.

Depends on the setting. Alfred did come to the aide of Anglia after the initial repelling of viking expansion.

As a military leader, Alfred did do a truly masterful job in playing all the different factions off against one another, not fighting when it was to his own detriment and then finally dealing with the Great Heathen Army at Edington.

I think one of the problems his reputation has is that the job of conquering all of England was not quite complete by the time he died.

Seriously if ESPN has another report about Jay Cutler and his offensive coach, Tice arguing I'm going to be upset. Cutler had one of the best games of his career as a Bear and ESPN is hung up about what he said to Tice during the game. It's awful.

So simply because Cutler had one good game we're supposed to ignore the fact that he's a total diva?
