Get rid of the bar room

It is totaly pointless. If people want to chat about in the most part about absoloute nonsense then they should use facebook, or msn. Most of them in there complain about relaxing the spam rules yet the majority of them barely contribute anything to the wrestling sections, and seemingly only post in these sections to get there post count. Before proceeding to act like internet power craving headcases and go to the bar room and beg to be made moderators. Banning the Bar Room would be the most benefical thing to create better discussion in the wrestling sections.

There's no post count in The Bar Room. If you are mad because you don't have as much rep as you think you should have, post in The Bar Room. Or, create wrestling threads yourself that will knock everyone's socks off.

Post Count is turned off in the Bar Room, so that doesn't matter. The So and So for Mod thing is a running gag on this site for years. Since you've only been here a month, I don't figure you to know that at this point. Yes, there is a lot of pointless bickering, bitching, asskissing, and anything you can think of in that forum, but for the most part, just ignore it.

It creates traffic, which is the bottomline what crave wants. It's a relaxed part of the forum where a lot of people congregate. While I agree with you whole heartedly that the Bar Flies need to venture out of their little cubby hole more often then they do, the Bar Room is going to stay.

The Wrestling Product being good and getting better is what will drive up Wrestling Discussion.

....Or it would just prompt people to stop posting, period. Here's a thought...follow me, if you can. You could just ignore the bar room...and stay out of it! *Gasp!* Problem solved! :lmao:

Not to mention, the bar room provides a space for people like me to vent about things that are going on while at the same time making people laugh... So, again I say, if you hate it so much, stay out!

It is totaly pointless.

So is bitching about getting rid of the bar room.

If people want to chat about in the most part about absoloute nonsense then they should use facebook, or msn.

Because I want 100 strangers on my MSN.

Most of them in there complain about relaxing the spam rules yet

NSL has a way larger post count than you do.
KB has one of the highest on the forum.

the majority of them barely contribute anything to the wrestling sections,

Most of those people are seasoned veterans who no longer care to post in the other sections. There is no rule against that. This is a family of people who for the most part just hang out in here.

and seemingly only post in these sections to get there post count.

Maybe somebody should go read the rules.

Before proceeding to act like internet power craving headcases

Isn't that the point of the internet?

and go to the bar room and beg to be made moderators.

Luther has a running joke that maybe you should look up on before commenting on and getting your foot caught in your mouth

Or cause dozens of people to leave the forum, lowering the hits, lowering CraveOnline's profit? You are a genius!

The Bar Room is the heart and soul of this Forum, it allows people such as myself who no longer have much interest in Wrestling but who have made some good friends here to have a laugh and chill out with them.

Also, if they remove the Bar Room I'll start a e-terrorist organisation and start suicide bombing the Wrestling Forums.

Thats ridicolous you can't have friends over the internet, it's funny in the irony in that smarks cannot seem to seperate the real world from the internet. How can someone you have never met be a friend?

I said most posters in the bar room

Maybe some people would leave the site, is it really a huge loss? If they don't contribute to the wrestling section its pointless them been members. If discussion in the wrestling area improves so will the number of hits.

Are you seriously suggesting that non-memebers have any interest in the bar room? Why come to a wrestling website to talk about something other than wrestling?

Suspend the bar room for a few days to see if it drives up discussion/hits to the site.

Oh, maybe because you can get to know people. Learn who they are, just you don't see them.

Discussion won't improve, because they still won't post. In the meantime, there are plenty more people in the wrestling forums than post in the bar room

Because you like wrestling, but if you don't want to talk about it, there are other things you can talk about. Personally, I'm out of the house at work for 11 hours. When I get home, I occassionally have some work to do. I don't feel like an in-depth discussion about the merits of the armbar. I want to chill just and I'll post when I have the motivation

I appreciate your enthusism, but instead of changing others by bitching, post and see if you can interest them into replying, because they do read the forums.

You can have friends over the internet, way to redefine a word. no where does it say Friends have to have face to face communication or interactions. And what does being a Smark have to do with anything? And how is the internet not the real world? In the real world I use the internet, making it part of my real world.

I said most posters in the bar room
But in your complaint, those were the people you were discussing. NSL and KB are the people who hate the Spam rule.

Maybe some people would leave the site, is it really a huge loss? If they don't contribute to the wrestling section its pointless them been members. If discussion in the wrestling area improves so will the number of hits.

How is that pointless. At the end of the day the forum is here to generate hits. If people are hanging out in the bar room, they generate hits. cutting people out will not help add discussion.

Are you seriously suggesting that non-memebers have any interest in the bar room? Why come to a wrestling website to talk about something other than wrestling?

Let me wee where I said that... oh in your imaginary land. I said that current members... you know that list of people in the member list, yeah those guys, there are like 40,000 of them. Now you lok at the higher end posters, you have Jonny, Luther, Justin, those people. They don't post a lot of wrestling. But if they are here a lot, generating interest, causing heir friends to keep coming on, then that is profit. You cut them lose, and you lose that profit. What would be the point in that? Them not being here does not add anything, if anything it takes away a lot.

Suspend the bar room for a few days to see if it drives up discussion/hits to the site.

First, that isn't going to happen. How is Luther in the bar room going to help anyone out? Second, who gave you the right to demand this? Your name isn't bold by he looks of it, nope it isn't. You aren't a well known poster. You think you can come in here and try and change what people already like, people that use this site a lot more than you? That is ridiculous. What do you have against the Bar Room? Is it because for the most part, you have ticked us off, and now we don't like you? I'm sorry if that is the case, if you want that to change, get to know people. And guess what, if you get to know people, I bet they are more likely to debate with you, and add discussion. There is your solution.

Maybe some people would leave the site, is it really a huge loss?

If Crave loses profit from it, yes, it is a problem

If they don't contribute to the wrestling section its pointless them been members. If discussion in the wrestling area improves so will the number of hits.

not necessarily, WZ as of currently has more members than its ever had, pro wrestling right now is in a recession, one so bad that companies such as WWE have had to completely overhaul their product. Because of that the bar room is a major contributor to bringing in more people.

whats the point of generating more discussion in the wrestling forums when their is currently not that much to talk about?

Are you seriously suggesting that non-memebers have any interest in the bar room? Why come to a wrestling website to talk about something other than wrestling?

there have been members that have joined primarily to post in the bar room, over time they may break out of their shell and begin to post in the wrestling sections.

Suspend the bar room for a few days to see if it drives up discussion/hits to the site.

It'll just make things worse, people that don't normally post all that much in the wrestling sections aren't just magically going to start because we've taken away the bar room.

I'm not totaly against the Bar Room prehaps the rules in it need to be tightened to allow only intelligent discussions. I don't know how this could be done though as it could be subjective. I think more people would post in the forum as a whole if there are less 'stupid' threads, and the majority of these seem to prop up in the bar room. That is my main criticism of it.

To be fair, I don't think Crave gives a crap if we are posting wrestling. As long as people are visiting and posting on the site, they are happy, and they should be. It's a business, and as long as they are making money they don't care what we do on the forum. Well, for the most part anyways.

We have The Cigar Lounge for that it's the forum below the bar room

True but people should be encouraged to create good threads- even in the bar room. Some of the threads in the bar room are sometimes good, but in the most part they tend to be stupid. Improving discussion in the bar room would surely get more people visting + posting in it- not just the 15 or so who regularly post in there now.

Well make some good threads in there then.

And for the elimination game, I counted 75 regulars, just from the Bar Rooms

I'd like to point out that the vast majority of guests view the wrestling forums. Normally there are 150 or so viewing these and 10 max viewing bar room. Basically it's a place to blow of steam, hence the pointless threads

ahhh, the old underpants on the head pretending to be mad trick. Now Shadow, don't disappoint, but we both know that ended with him almost being shot

yes I do I was just pointing out the absurdity of the Barroom needs to be maintained so someone like me can do that sort of thing

It's a cunning plan... as cunning as a fox who graduated Cunning university with a first class degree in Cunning
