Hotline Miami is the hardest game I've played in a long time. Somehow it will keep you playing through a thousand retries. Probably the fact that it has a great soundtrack and on the three hundredth retry you got just one room further - so close!
Oh, and the idea that anybody was invested in the Uncharted story makes me chuckle.
It's so bad. Nathan Drake has to be one of the most obnoxious protagonists ever.
Phil Fish continues to be a cunt.
I just find it a step backwards because Adventure mode in Melee and Subspace Emissary in Brawl were both ace.
Again, it's a fighting game. the cutscenes are not at all important.Agree with you that gameplay is more important than graphics. But cut-scenes are a necessary thing for games these days, it's become a story-telling medium. Which has been the best part of games in the last few generations. The death of Aerith or the unmasking of Revan (SPOILERS) could only be done in games and they're two incredible moments, even though I'm not a Final Fantasy fan. Don't use MK as an example, those guys couldn't write their way out of a paper back.
Y'know, there are games out there that tell great stories via cutscenes while still having great gameplay. It's not an either/or situation.
As for Nintendo, that's a dumb move. If they're worried about the story being ruined, people only see those clips when they specifically look for them. If they're worried about money, Smash Bros. doesn't sell for it's story mode. I may consider just getting the game second hand, cause I was really looking forward to the story mode, and I don't want to pay full price without it.
Exactly. Terrible enemies, story was nothing to write home about, and gameplay itself was terrible. People act like the single player mode was great, yet when the game came out that was not at all the sentiment of the majority. Smash Bros style gameplay is not suitable for adventure/platforming games.I loved SSE and how they created a storyline connecting all of the characters together, great cutscenes without a single line of dialogue too. Unfortunately I wasn't very keen on the gameplay, felt like a watered down Kirby game (same guy made both) and horrible enemy design. I'd have much rather had them fighting enemies from Nintendo games like goombas and metroids over shitty generic purple subspace things.
Gonna be downloading some Action Arcade Wrestling 2 later. Looks pretty sweet.
