Gamers unite -HQ

You know I really loved the 360 and felt that it was the strongest console of the most recent generation, but I swear to god the Xbox one is just a few weeks out of the blocks and months from release and it's been disaster after disaster for the damn thing.

After the underwhelming PS4 reveal and the disappointing Wii U the Xbox One was pretty much the last great hope of the console and so far it's failing. That being said E3 is only a week away and everything could change.

Remember Me is getting pretty bad reviews.

I'm disappointed, I had a lot of hope for the game, maybe it's not as bad as the reviews are saying, but I'm real hesitant to drop $50 for it on Steam now from what I'm reading. With The Last of Us coming out soon and my PS3 needing a fresh title for me to actually use it, I may just pass on Remember Me until it goes on sale on Steam or something.

Edge gave it 8/10 - those motherfuckers are harsh as balls. Where have you seen the bad reviews?

But for £30 pre-order on steam I'll give it a go.

Luigi's Mansion 2 and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D are, to use a technical term, the bomb diggitty. I'm actually playing my 3DS!

Batman Arkham City GOTY Edition is only $7.50 on Steam right now. Considering I have yet to play it that's a steal.

I have Arkham City sitting next to my XBox waiting to be played right now. I'm about halfway through Rage right now, and I'm really not that enamored with it anymore, but I'm a bit of a completionist so I don't want to give up either.

Last of Us seems to be getting 10s left right and centre.

That is good news. I've been contemplating buying a PS3 just for this and the Uncharted series. Hopefully it'll be worth it.

I've seen the same. This is a ridiculous two week stretch for games:

Remember Me (I'm enjoying it so far)
Animal Crossing New Leaf (Don't judge me)
The Last of Us
State of Decay (Looks great for an XBLA game and getting great reviews)

I need to either clone myself or take a week off from work so I can put in some serious gaming time.

Funny, I've yet to see one thing to make me want to play The Last of Us.

The commercial doesn't do it for me, and nothing I've seen of the game itself does either. Just read the review and I can say the same thing.

I'm not saying it's bad, just that it's not my cup of tea.

It'd be worth it to get the PS3. Uncharted 2 is amazing. Then you can also play a baseball game that doesn't absolutely suck, too. And a litany of other exclusives that are excellent.

I've been waiting for Last of Us since I first saw video of it at E3 last year (I think), probably the only game this year I plan on buying the day of release. Everything about the game just looks flat out amazing.

Last of Us is this years GOTY or at least it looks that. The AI is simply amazing along with the crafting system and the multilpayer. Cannot be more hyped.

This just in about State of Decay after a good 3-4 hours of playing it.

It is freaking awesome.

I just read a bit about it, and that game sounds like it's right up my alley. I'll probably buy it tonight.

Maybe we can play together sometime? <3

Games go through cycles on which genre is over used. Platformers > fighters > JPRPGs > FPS' > Zombies.

Zombie style games are quickly overtaking first person shooters as the most over-used genre.

I wouldn't say zombies are a genre as much as a theme, but the zombie genre certainly fits into the action/adventure genre, which I reckon is the most popular genre these days.

GTA, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect, Batman Arkham games, Saints Row, Bioshock, Far Cry, Tomb Raider, Dead Rising, Assassin's Creed, Red Dead Redemption... all of them wildly popular, all of them action/adventure with a sandboxing element.

In fact, the only really popular zombie game I can think of that doesn't fit into the action/adventure genre is Left 4 Dead, and that fits into the FPS genre.

Edge gave it a 10/10 - I freaking love that magazine and in it's 20 year history it's only given out 16 perfect scores.

I think only two (maybe three) of the previous fifteen were questionable.

Mario 64, Gran Turismo, Ocarina of Time, Halo, Half-Life 2, Halo 3, Orange Box, Mario Galaxy, GTA IV, LittleBigPlanet, Bayonetta (?), Mario Galaxy 2, Rock Band 3 and Skyward Sword.

I reckon Bayonetta is the only dubious one.

Last of Us is going to be GOTY, unless GTAV brings it's own actual hookers, and blackjack.
