Third party gaming accessory manufacturer Hyperkin has just announced the upcoming SupaBoy, a handheld console that plays original SNES cartidges.

Due for a release this summer, the SupaBoy will currently only play US cartridges, with a UK PAL release yet to be confirmed. The handheld device is currently only a prototype, but we do know that it will come in at 318g, have a 3.5 inch LCD screen, and a claimed battery life of around five and a half hours.

As you can see from the prototype images, the SupaBoy has an A/V stereo output to plug into your TV, and capacity to plug two original SNES controllers to play on the bigger screen with.

Pretty cool.

I know the Mega Drive (or Genesis... whatever) has something fairly similar to that but it only plays about 30 games built in to the system. I wish Sega would release something like that SupaBoy, that lets you insert different cartridges. I still have my copy of Ayrton Senna's Super Monaco GP II that I wanna play so badly but no longer have a Mega Drive.

Milenko, Dante's Inferno is like God Of War but the absolve/Punish choices are filled with fun choices like Pontius Pilate. Buy it anyhow, it's tones of fun.

I played the demo for it when it first dropped on 360. I wouldn't waste my time with it ever again. It's not even that good of a brawling game.
