Tesco is exactly like Asda/walmart. Groceries, clothes, electronics, car insurance...most things.

I don't get it. If you can get the system for 25 pounds less (before any taxes, which would only make the difference greater), why wouldn't you? That's pretty serious coin. In fact, you'd probably be able to get a second game for the difference.

I understand the idea of supporting a local business, but with such a big difference in price, there's supporting a local business and there's wasting money. This seems to be more of the latter.

Anybody played Beyond Good & Evil?? I was thinking of downloading it of XBLA and just wanted to know what to expect. It seems to get love for being an underrated classic but I'd like to hear some opinions.

Because I've already preordered it and have the vouchers to cover the cost for it. Tesco have only dropped the price today. If I didn't have the vouchers and what not I probably would have gone with it.

The £25 include taxes as the price we advertise includes the tax.

Oh, ok, that makes sense then.

and I bet this Tesco dropped the price because they weren't getting enough pre-orders.

Yeah it'll probably go back up after the weekend.

I know in the UK Amazon say it's the most pre ordered console ever.

Initial line-up is weak and I've been reading reports of 3-5 hour battery life all week. Will probably wait until the first hardware revision.

I'm getting it as I think by the time the games I want come out after E3 it'll still be hard to come by.

Plus I'm a nintendo ****e.

I'm quite liking the look of Kid Icarus, which is weird because I fucking hate the other two.

So Lee, I must ask the ever so important question. You purchased a 3DS at midnight, correct?

Is there a reason we haven't heard how friggin sweet it is yet?

Because when I got in I realised how tired I was and as such didn't bother with the 3D elements.

Though I am playing it now and it#s pretty sweet. The fabled 3D spot is quite noticebale more so than it was the last time I played one but I've already got the nack of moving the 3DS and my head at the same time.

Initially nothing. Now I have Ghost recon, pilotwings and street fighter.
How are said games? Street Fighter looks badass, but it's just a port of the 360 version. I don't know much about Ghost Recon, and Pilotwings is being compared to the Wii Sports Resort flying thing from what I recall.

BRILLIANT on GAME's part. I'm not sure of the legalities, but it's a billiant strategy to basically steal the profits from the system, as well as have pre-owned stock. This GAME company is pretty damn smart (if this is of course legal).

It's legal but it's dirty as fuck. Tesco (Dave works for them) is a huge supermarket (a la wal mart but not wal mart) who quite often undercut local businesses. It's a huge problem in my city.

I hate GAME though as they have no integrity and their prices are far too expensive!

Street fighter I only bought yesterday, it's decent thus far.
Pilotwings I love, it's like the others rather than wii sports resort!
Ghost recon I think may actually be the hidden gem of the launch titles.

so this GAME place bumps prices above the suggested retail? Or do they just not offer deals and charge a ton on pre-owned (like GameStop does here in the States)?

And this Tesco place sounds exactly like Wal Mart, except not owned by the same people.

-I think the fact that it's called Pilotwings Resort makes it seem more like the Wii Sports Resort version. I really never played much Pilotwings though, so I can't tell you.
-SFIV as I said looks awesome, however, it's the same game that came out a year ago on 360/PS3 except with lesser graphics and a 3D mode.
-I read the review for Ghost Recon and they made it sound like it isn't anything like the previous Ghost Recons (not that I'd know, as I never played any of the Ghost recons).

I'm still waiting to get one though, as none of the games are must-buys yet.

Question for all y'all gamers out there.

I am an X-Box owner. I have 12 games for the X-Box 360 Gaming console (of which I play about 4 of them). However, I want to get a Blue Ray player. Should I consider trading in the X-Box and all the games, and spend about 150 bucks and get a Playstation 3, or should I just get a Blue Ray player?

There are PS3 exclusive games that I want (like MLB the Show, Metal Gear Solid 4, Little Big Planet, etc), but I don't know if I want to spend the money on a new system, especially since the current generation is old, and new systems could be coming out eventually. It might be cheaper to just get a Blue Ray Player eventually.

X box are apparently anouncing a new disk format for the console.

GAME charge more than most places usually. Say DKCountry. RRP is £39.99, GAME sell it £44.99 and most other places about £35

When the fuck this happen? And unless it means my X-Box would become a Blue Ray player, it still might not be enough. I did the math, and it would cost 150ish, and if you subtract the 60 it would cost to continue my X-Box Live subscription, it would be only 90ish.

Fuck GAME. Fuck them up their asses. They sell the games at above suggested retail, they suck ass. Don't shop there, shop at Tesco or whatever other stores are out there.

Yeah I'm not shopping at Tesco. Grainger games is my store of choice, usually a couple of pounds cheaper than RRP, a local business, and customer service is key.
