hmv are strange with their prices at times. As you say, their website is usually cheaper than their stores, sometimes considerably so. However, there are occasions when in store can be even cheaper still, particularly their sales. That is why I would always have a look in store as you are liable to find what I would consider a " dvd or game collection filler" for a silly price.

I actually asked the manager about this once, and he said they have 3 or 4 different suppliers who have different pricing schemes. Which is apparently why one DVD can be one price, and the same one on the floor above is another price.

Yeah, I have noticed that in hmv.

I've actually seen it in Tesco too. However, Tesco have a policy that not only do you pay the lower price but they refund you double the difference if you have paid the higher price. I remember getting a copy of Mission Impossible III(?) for £1 because of it.

Another problem I have with GAME is that, while they might say that they keep their prices higher than most other places because they have a larger warehouse and selection than others, the last five times I have gone to find something specific on their website, they have been out of stock...

Bought Smackdown vs Raw 2011 and Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions for £35 for both. I feel pleased

I just bought a game called Blast works build trade and destroy.

Never even heard of it but it was £3

The downloadable WiiWare version of Super Meat Boy has been cancelled, developer Team Meat confirmed over Twitter yesterday.

The team did say, however, they are looking to bring the game to Wii through a retail release, but that initiative is currently "looking grim."

The WiiWare version was scrapped after the team concluded it could fit the game under Nintendo's 40MB cap limit, which would require cutting many of the Super Meat Boy's features.

"There is no way to avoid the fact that if we released a 40MB version of Super Meat Boy it would be a shit version of the game," designer Edmund McMillen told Joystiq. "It's a lose lose situation, but the fact of the matter is if we release a shitty game, we will have to live with that for the rest of our careers and have to cop to the fact that it is a shitty game."

Super Meat Boy was first released through Xbox Live on Oct. 20, 2010 and later on PC in December. A Mac version is slated for release "in a few months." There are currently no plans to bring the game to PlayStation Network due to contractual obligations.

Fuckers

First they can't release it on PSN due to some contract problem. Now they scrap the WiiWare version?

RAGE

I have. I played it an found it to be utterly terrible and uninteresting.

However, one of my friends thought that it was one of the best games he had played. Really, I guess it just comes down to what you enjoy. The gore and storyline are good but the gameplay seemed to be really lacking for me. Hope you enjoy it though.

I gave up on it when you-- well, it's a spoiler. But there'll be a bit you get to and you'll know why I gave up. Worth $3 though.

I've enjoyed it so far and if it turns out it sucks it was only $3 that someone else spent to buy me the gift card I used.

How many other games can you play a Mafia hitman with Paranormal powers?

Is that the one where you're a moderately successful glamrock band and fade into obscurity when your lead singer gets addicted to Coke?

Lacey (the wife) got me Lego Batman for the Playstation, and we got a Wii as a gift. I'm currently accepting recommendations.

Sam: Wal-Mart has Brotherhood for (I think $40.) I picked up Black-Ops for that price, but haven't decided if I'm going to keep it or not. I got enough games in my queue to last a long time.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit looks awesome so I'm considering that.

I'll be adding the GOTY thread likely Friday
