The only thing I think the PS4 really has on the XBone is that they give away a pretty solid Indy game once a month on PS+. You saw Stormy and I jabber about Bro For e, and I loooooove me some Binding of Isaac: both free with PS+ membership.

The other major plus is that you can play with me, JGlass.

I've been tempted by the PS4, but there aren't enough exclusives to make me gravitate towards it. Only current gen console I own, besides my gaming PC, is the 3DS.

If you're just going to get one out of the PS4 and the Xbone, the PS4 definitely seems the one to get.

I picked up my Overwatch copy at 10AM today but 7 rolled around and I've been too busy to play and now I have to head to bed for work.

So far I like Widowmaker, Mercy, Bastion, and Reinhardt. I've noticed lots of people using Roadhog, D.Va, and Junkrat, but I haven't gotten around to those guys yet.

I want to find an offensive character that I can get good with, but so far I've had no luck, I die super quickly with any of them. Soldier: 76 might be a good option for me.

76 is a good all rounder. He has a solid heal and can shoot up another side quickly. Tracer is and will always be my girl, though. I love zipping around and getting the drop on people.

D.Va is a BLAST. She's tricky to get used to but once you do it is wild fun shooting people from afar and launching your mech into the crowd. I tried almost everyone except Roadhog and Junkrat in the beta, so I think when I finally get to play I'm gonna give them a shot. Lucio too.

I think my top characters in approximate order are Tracer, Pharah, and Mercy. I'm a surprisingly effective supporter.

I've been having some success with 76. It's nice to be able to sprint with him. The only real drawbacks I see him having is that he has trouble dealing with crowds and his damage output is wanting.

Tried D.Va. Did not go well. Apparently you really need to be up close and personal for her to be effective, but nope.

I should give Tracer a try. I've been hesitant to try her because she seems like you need a good knowledge of the maps in order to figure out how to use her effectively, but she does seem to have some of the best killing ability in the game.

I got a cool skin for Bastion and a victory pose for Reinhardt, so two will continue to be in my rotation. I actually had a pretty sweet play as Bastion when I went into tank mode and savagely blew up three different people. Thought for SURE I had the play of the game, but someone playing as Trobjorn got three kills with his turret and the game chose that, I'm guessing because it was in the objective zone. You couldn't even see the kills on the replay. At least mine would have shown explosions and bodies flying and had the cute, "Dooo do do do do dooooooo," noise that Bastion plays.

Mercy is fun to play with, but it sucks when your team doesn't protect you. I had to take on a tracer all alone with Mercy and surprisingly nearly killed her, but as soon as it was 2 on 1, I was toast within seconds. I'm sure people will get better about that as the game has been out longer, though.

I think my objectives for today are to get better with Genji, Junkrat, and maybe Winston, whom I also have a sweet skin for.

Junkrat is my man. In a good match, I can get 30+ eliminations with him. It's surprising how many people keep walking into the bear traps, which give you an easy kill

I'm also pretty strong with Pharah, Torbjorn, Winston and Lucio, so I have a nice spread amongst the class types.

Sorry Mercy, but if I'm going support, I'm going Zenyatta! Not only is he possibly the coolest character conceptually, but he's got a surprising amount of kill power for a support class character. He's not the strongest healer, but the harmony orb seems to extend your allies' lives by several hits and allows weakened allies to make full recoveries after winning a skirmish. Plus, his special is hugely helpful.

Not only that, but I finally got play of the game while playing with him! I got three quick kills with him, and that was enough to get me the nod.

I also now see the appeal of Roadhog. I think they're going to have to nerf him eventually, because he can kill so easily and heal himself to nearly 100% in a very short amount of time.

Still haven't fucked around with Genji or Junkrat yet.

Seriously though, he's been putting in good work for me with teams that were pretty good, so I'm gonna keep using him. Though at one point in a match he did just stop succeeding immediately, so he might be a more situational character.

Lucio seems cool to me and I like that he can boost speed as well as restore health, because speed seems like an important stat that very little can be done to change. When I was messing around with him I had trouble using his weapon in any successful way, but maybe I'll find more luck when I'm helped by allies.

I played as Symmetra for like, 2 minutes because I wanted to put down in our spawn and close to the objective, but I didn't realize that that's her special. So I played with her for about two minutes, got one kill on a nearly-dead 76 and died twice extremely quickly, so I decided to go with the tried and true method of Reinhardt.

Junkrat is fantastic. Been trying him and Lucio out and setting off a successful trap with Junkrat is so, so satisfying.

I have a friend who absolutely wrecks with Zenyatta. He is made of glass and hard to learn, but in the right hands he's an absolute machine. Same deal with Symmetra.

I enjoy Lucio a lot conceptually, but I'm having some trouble since his abilities are passive so it's hard to tell when they're working. Still, I did a lot of healing in a few games and had a good time.

This is one of the few games where doing healing or tactical stuff (like blocking damage with Reinhardt) feels almost as rewarding as getting kills for the team. I like the system at the end of the game with all the different categories and voting for the match MVP.

Usually, people are pretty supportive too if you've been playing a tank or support, so they'll give you a commend for your troubles. Don't know what commends go towards, but it's a nice gesture at the very least.

I managed to get a Legendary as Junkrat earlier on (10 commends) when I went 33-8.

I do have a PS4 but the only reason I bought the Xbone is forza. Been playing that since the first. gamertag is bryanskrantz... Gonna have to change that soon....

Just had a pretty gnarly game with Roadhog. Think I went something like 24-4 with him.

Question for you folks: Are there any characters that you respect more or less than other characters? I ask because someone said something about being ashamed that they had to use Bastion, which I get because he's a pretty easy character to use, but I also feel like the game is so situational that there's really no good reason NOT to use Bastion if the situation calls for it. I mean, if the enemy wants to keep walking into chokepoints or spam 3 Reinhardts, then why not punish them for it?
