Gamers unite -HQ

I've Halo 5 installing.

An interesting high street experience:

Sainsbury's £39.99
Argos £42
HMV £44.99
GAME £49.99

GAME, you sell literally one thing - games. What the fuck?

So for those of you who actually give a shit, my computer arrived. Cyberpower PC Prebuild with a Thermaltake full case, liquid cooling, MSI Intel Z710 pro series motherboard, 16GB of ram Intel Core i7 6600k 4.ghz processor.... In otherwords a VERY future proof machine cos 95% of games nowadays don't even use 4 gigs of VRAM.

1,400 bucks and yes it passed the recommended setting for Arkham Knight as well as fallout 4. It was a birthday present as my birthday was sunday.
Damn.

I've been watching a lot of gaming setups on Youtube. Those are always cool videos to watch. Feel free to share how your setup looks like :)

It's part of the battle between the distributors and GAME. The distributors charge GAME more to force down their market share, so they can go digital without GAME burying them in the high street.
GAME forced a contract with the distributors that means digital content has to be priced higher than the price they're selling at, which accounts for the ridiculous digital prices at the moment.

So yeah, the pricing nonsense isn't going to end any time soon.

So it's coming around to the end of the year which means we can kind of start chatting about game of the year discussions. "But M! Game X hasn't come out yet!" You're thinking? Well, since game of the freaking decade is already out I'd say it's an ample time to discuss the greatness that is Undertale. 10 bucks on steam. 120Mb. Brilliant.

Wii U transition, anyone here psyched for Xenoblade Chronicles X?

I'm pretty much a Nintendo loyalist and loved the original Xenoblade but X has taken so long to come out in English I've lost interest. No doubt I will get it but probably not on release day as I originally intended.

All I've been playing WiiU-wise is Smash. IMO the greatest game of all time! The 3DS version was amazing, and the Wii U version even better! So much content! Without it I'd never have bought a Wii U.

Another game I hope to get is Super Mario Maker which looks fantastic, will probably buy around Christmas.

And the other game I've been playing is Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition. I've never played a RE game before. Hated the "Can't move and shoot at the same time) controls at first but now I really love the game. Nearing the end of it I think!

Anyone else playing Ori and the Blind Forest? Downloaded it yesterday and it entirely lives up to the hype. It's basically Metroid meets Child of Light meets The Lion King. The artwork is freakin' gorgeous, and the controls are absolutely buttery.

I mulled over buying it on release, largely because of the aesthetics, but forgot it existed until you mentioned it just now.

I've been burned far too often buying games on release day, so I usually end up waiting a few months for the bug patches.

Last game I bought on release was Child of Light so I could play it with my cousin while visiting (and parents- Child of Light is an awesome game that's simultaneously kid-and-adult friendly), and while relatively bug-free, it did contain a glitch where the main character's skirt would disappear when she lifted her arms. For most of the story, the lead character in the game is an 8 year-old girl.

:suspic:

Who's King games?

I disagree with Lee to an extent. The first half was pretty decent. The second half has been dire though save for MGSV for me.

They have Candy Crush etc.

Yeah I was thinking (as a none PS4/XBone owner) that my favourite three games of the year are Mario Maker, Splatoon and Captain Toad. That's not a good thing.

The first half had some good games, but none for consoles I own.
