The entire front page fiasco made me sick. SO many people out there make me borderline ashamed to be a fervent wrestling fan. I hold people like Sly, KB, Killam, Cash, Paglino, and many others in such high regard, and anonymous pieces of trash who couldn't do one-eighth the job any of those folks I listed do rag on them just to make themselves laugh.
It's so frustrating, because for a long while I, too, busted my ass to help make WZ the best forum on the net. I feel like the efforts of Jonny, Jake, myself, Shocky, Sly, and KB have gone a long damn way towards accomplishing that. I brought one of my best friends onto these forums in D-Man, and he's become a G-Mod. I met two of my best friends on these forums in the person of NorCal and JGlass. NorCal would've been at my wedding if he hadn't been saving the free world, and I just spent a week in North Carolina with D-Man and JGlass. I have this fucking forum to thank for those connections and those memories, and the uneducated internet-muscled fools love to try to knock it down.
And in a bittersweet kind of a way, it reinforced why I stepped back so far. I don't have an off-switch where I say "I just don't care, it doesn't bother me." Fucking right it bothers me. I had two choices - fight a constant losing battle with under-educated kids who do what they do just to get a rise despite bringing NOTHING of value to the table, or step away and focus on just being a fan.
I support the staff here as always. Nobody gets paid. They do this because they want to volunteer. It's like being a volunteer ass-wiper for a bunch of 7-year old kids whose parents never potty trained them. Pieces of trash.

Fucking right you are. And I appreciate that, I really do, because you were still around communicating with the main page and doing occasional articles when Cash first brought me on as a bi-weekly opinionist. I vaguely remember reading an article about the Royal Rumble and thinking, how the fuck did he come up with these numbers? Do you remember the good ole' days? Like, before Crave thought it was a good idea to enable Disqus on all the articles? The Forums have come a HELL of a long way since I used to shadow them years before I signed up, and idiots that stick around for a week and decide it's too hard to post an actual fucking original thought...why is that ok? Why is ok for a person to go on the internet and tare down another person and their work, without actually bothering to know them?
It doesn't bother me when people who know what they're talking about criticize. KB has my permission to tell me I suck until the cows come home, because I respect him and he's damn good. But people who don't know us, who have read one of my articles, have listened to one of Cash's shows, and go online and talk about how terrible we are? That...is fucking stupid. Paglino has done a lot of work to get the site in good standing, and to draw more than just about any wrestling news site on the internet. Cash is one of my best "wrestling friends", so yeah...it bothers me when people shit on them for no good reason. And it's resulted in a few "freak outs"; the last of which inspired Shattered Dreams to start my official bar room thread. It's rough to do what you really enjoy doing, and to listen to your friends thrown under the bus by a few terrible people who don't know what the hell they're talking about.
I've had uneducated fools criticizing me for no valid reason for most of my life, the problem which comes from being the child of a teacher at the school you attend. All my life, it hasn't mattered that I earned straight A's in school, worked my ass off in basketball practice every day to earn being captain, did so well on my ACT my college paid me to go to school, I volunteered for years with the basketball team, etc. None of that mattered. Nope, to the uneducated fools in my town, the only reason I've ever gotten anything is because of my last name.
I learned to not worry about it by 6th grade. It's also probably why I'm so unwaveringly arrogant when it comes to mocking stupid people, because I've learned that most people who say such stupid things usually do so because they're jealous of how great I've always been. That's not really me being an asshole, nearly as much as it is a reflection of what I've dealt with in life.
So, when I get on the forums here, I don't really care what people think of me or what they say about me on the main page. I'm used to that kind of nonsense and it just kind of rolls off of me.

Seriously though when I first saw that Killam plugged the BZT on the main page & pretty psyched, then I scrolled down & saw that first comment...
...and shit just went downhill from there. A lot of people put a lot of time & effort into organizing this tournament, I spent roughly 12-13 hrs. this past week on writing up bios for this thing, & making sure they looked good, & would be helpful to whomever decides to use them. Doc, JGlass, Yaz, Funky, Crock, the Admins (which ever one of you created the sections), & now even Killam have also put in time, & work to make this happen (Thanks to all of you BTW), so that whomever wants to participate & have some fun with it can, & of course you have to have a couple of ********s shit all over it, it pisses me off, you don't want to participate, that's perfectly fine, I have no issue with that, but you don't need to crap on everyone who does good time.
Also, something I've always been curious about, WZ has a fucking forum, why on Earth do they need a comment section on the main page for every article?
I just saw the main page article in question... I don't even get it. The hatred Killam and the forum staff got was just ridiculous. What the fuck is wrong with Killam trying to promote traffic for a tournament we're having on here? Anything? I can kind of understand people hating on staff (my PM box is regularly filled with bullshit about how I'm corrupt, evil, blah blah blah), but they even blew that out of proportion. Our job is to keep this place clean and enforce the rules. Not to mention, the amount of stuff we allow to slide by without discipline. Christ, could you imagine how many people would bitch and moan if I warned all the stuff I delete or upgraded all the warnings to infractions? Fuck, man. I enjoy being a mod and really have fun on this forum, but it's still a job. I scour through so much bullshit, just trying make sure I can keep my section looking as best as possible -- so does everybody else. Yet, we're assholes for doing our jobs? Fuck that, man.

If I banned everyone, then they'd just bitch and complain about how terrible and corrupt I am... I would love, love, love to get rid of Disqus. I mean, it's a cool application that works really well for a lot of websites. I'm going to use it for mine once I get it more up and running, but for Wrestlezone there are far too many trolls and...not even trolls, just really stupid, annoying people out there.
