Filibuster in the Senate

Seems to be. They are against anything he says, and he's even trying to get a compromise between the two parties over taxes.

On a sidenote, did anybody see Bill Clinton take over the White House podium today? Slick Willy's still got it.

Not the first time though. Their entire goal is to take over the presidency and THEN focus on the long-term changes in our country.

I'm not a Democrat, but I'm anti-Republican. Because Republicans are generally about looking out only for themselves, and not caring about the generations after them.

Obviously, that's a large generalization, but a fairly accurate one. I've have no patience for someone who cares only for themselves, and not for the country which gave them what they currently have.

I'm registered Democrat but there's stuff the party goes for that I don't side with at all. Chris Rock put it best: "I got some shit I'm conservative about, I got some shit I'm liberal about. Anyone that makes their decision because of what a party says before hearing the details of the issue is a fucking fool."

Republicans and Democrats blur the line that keeps them different, a lot of the time. Extremely hypocritical on both parts.

What amazes me is that we're supposed to believe that a party of people that represent citizens from all over the country in all kinds of different socio-economic backgrounds and all different kinds of cultures are going to vote exactly the same for every piece of legislation, such as the GOP voting as a block int he Senate on almost every single thing. I have a REAL hard time believing that the will of the people in their states are the same across the board.

Like I've said before, it's just a scam. They disagree just enough to keep each other in power and making money, but not enough to alienate enough of the voting base for a third party to make any noise.

George Washington, the father of our country, warned us about all of these things in his farewell address. He told us to be moral and religious people, warned us to not make permanent foreign alliances, and he warned us against the dangers of the party system. One of the greatest men in our country's history, and we didn't listen to a word he said.

It's incredible that the same political policies that worked 220 years ago still work today.

Imagine that: smart people set up the government and it worked. But since it worked we had to change it.

Actually, these two statements are completely false. We've needed many changes to the way our government has been set up and run, unless you see women and minorities as less than human.
