Uruguay plays such a boring style. Sit back and try to take advantage of any mistake the other team makes. I want to see some attacking!

Uruguay had the right defensive set up and were right to play on the counter-attack but they should have had actual wingers on the pitch. Forlan was having to come so deep to get the ball that they were lacking real numbers up front. I fancied Uruguay to score if it hadn't been for the red card.

The French were just so bad. Plenty of possession up to the final third but absolutely no cutting edge or urgency. You could tell that there have been major problems behind the scenes.

That own goal was awful, I wanted to punch the guy when he seemingly couldn't stop smiling.

I wasn't even surprised Denmark lost, I was more surprised the fact that we were 0-0 by half time.

The Danes actually finished the first half well and should have gone to the break leading, if it wasn't for Bendtner's lack of heading ability but the own goal so early in the second half knocked the stuffing out of them. The Dutch didn't look anything special, aside from the young left winger that came on in the second half

He had a nighmare from what I remember. Happens occasionally for Stoke.

He's still awful for the most of it, never interested me ever since 2004, Denmark hasn't been good ever since the Laudrup brothers and Schmeichel.

The Danes did above expectations during the first half, but that was it, they had some great chances of scoring, some good offense and great defense, Rommedahl actually did something USEFUL for once!

Then we change Grønkjær in, the guy hasn't scored for the national team since 2004 according to the announcers, so he's useless as well.

Nicklas Bendtner was supposedly hurt during the game, so he wasn't accomplishing his full potential.

And then Simon Poulsen heads the ball into the back of Daniel Agger where it bounces back into our own goal...

Then it went down hill.

Yes You Can. Holland looked good overall. The Danes weren't too bad themselves. Holland are still my pick.

Great Funny, I'll look forward to it, I could possibly be a little late, not counting on it, but chances are there.

But I will be there for most of the game, I'm not missing Italy playing.

I'm picking Spain for potential winners this year, or Brazil, Brazil vs Spain in the finals could be awesome.

I talked with a classmate who said he considered Spain to have the best overall team, it's filled with Real Madrid players and world talent.

David Villa, Iker Casillas, Fernando Torres, Xabi Alonso, Xavi Hernandez, Carles Puyol, Sergio Ramos, that team is just pumped with guys I recognize and great talent, I wonder why the hell José Manuel Reina isn't in the team although, he and Casillas broke the record for longest time on goal without the opponent scoring.

Spain definitely have the best side in the competition but whether they can translate that to a winning side in the World Cup is the big question. They have a spectacularly awful record in World Cup finals.

I'm most likely supporting Spain and England through this.

I wasn't in 2006 Lee, I was leaning to Italy or France to be honest from the very start, I should have placed money on those guys.

Spain have a history of choking, just like the Dutch. They always choke at some point. They’re a ticking time-bomb waiting to happen.

Sad thing is that Spain has only once been in the final four, it's disturbing really considering the great squad they've posed in the last 10 years time.

Yet they won the European cup twice, and one runner up.

Not sure. Ghana could pose a threat against England in the last 16. That is IF they qualify top.

Not necessarily Lee.

They could meet the France in the quarter finals, if they win group A, and then beat the runner up from group B, which could be anybody but Argentina.

Then we have France vs England or USA most likely, and while France had a bad start with Uruguay, they still have the squad to rip apart either of England or USA.
