Favorite WWE DVD of all time?

Hello, This is my first ever thread so If I did something wrong like put it in the wrong section or this thread has been done before then I apologize and you can do with it what you will.

My question is simple- What is your favorite ever DVD released by the WWE?


My favorite is by far "The Rise and fall of ECW"

Of course it isn't about the WWE, but they did produce it and pay for it as far as I know.

It was just a really great Documentary that really went in-depth into the history of the Original ECW, my only complaint about the DVD is the lack of matches, there are quite a few on there but I was expecting more. Still, the Documentary more then makes up for it.

What about you? what's your favorite?

I haven't seen any of these DVD's but I know I will but them as soon as I can.
They are Chris Jericho's upcoming DVD and Satan's Prison.
I've always wanted to see Jericho in his best matches and now I finally can, unless WWE screws him over and puts all his matches against guys that are currently in the WWE.
I have always loved the Elimination Chamber ever since I saw my first one, and the DVD is a blessing for me. It's gonna be legendary.
As for the one I have now, it's The History of the WWE Championship 1963-2006.
It has some of the best matches I've ever seen, such as Bret vs Owen at Summerslam, Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels in the 60 minute Iron Man match at Wrestlemania XIV and The Rock vs Brock Lesner, it's also great to see a Benoit match, even though it was before his death, it's hard to find a Benoit match on a WWE DVD now.
It also has Andre vs Hulk, I know it's a crap match, but important none the less.

Yep I'll have to agree there, 'The Rise and Fall of ECW' is by far the best WWE DVD ever released. Having key interviews with all those people who were part of ECW and the incredibly well researched and produced documentary was just fantastic. Again the matches were alright, but the documentary is easily the greatest WWE has ever produced. And it gave birth to the original One Night Stand as well which was awesome.

Mine probably still is the Self Destruction of The Ultimate Warrior. For a PPV without the involvement of the key subject it was very well detailed. Ok so it was 50% bashing but really put a lot of perspective of Wrestling in that era, the popularity of The Warrior, and it almost has this strange tragic vibe.

Off topic would be the worst. Mine would be a tie between the Tombstone Undertaker DVD which was idiotic because it was all kayfabe in a time when people wanted the juicy backstage stuff and The McMahon DVD which left out 80% of what happened to him and the WWE.

My favorite is "Cause Stone Cold Said so!"

It was the first WWF DVD id ever gotten and it just signify the WWF at that time, Raw, edgy, controversial, and just plain Badass. Had Austin vs Hart WM 13 and his battles with the Hart foundation and it was just Stone Cold at its best.

For me any Shawn Michaels DVD, he is the best athlete all around in the ring. He is better than Ric Flair, Stone Cold, The Undertaker, The Rock, etc. and I know people are gonna argue with me on this, but this is my opinion on who the better wrestler was. Another DVD I found very interesting is Jeff Hardy's DVD and thats because the matches that were on his DVD were really good like his match from the Royal Rumble in 08 and the tag team cage match from Unforgiven 2000.

It's gotta be the Flair DVD. After everything he went through growing up to his superstardom. Being a black market baby, being in a plane crash, to winning 16 titles. There is no question he has the greatest legacy of anyone. (you could argue that Hogans was better) He faced the tougher opponents in a time where the promoters picked the champ. He beat himself up every match unlike the guys today. Nobody really cuts themselves anymore. Flair is all around the greatest wrestler that has ever lived. Yeah maybe he wasn't the most athletic but who says you have to be athletic to be great. Flair DVD was the best..100% hands down greatest

By far, the WrestleMania 20 dvd. Not for the event itself, but rather for the extras. Specifically, the documentary "The Mania of WrestleMania" which took a non-kayfabe and behind the scenes look at WrestleMania 19, specifically the Rock/Austin and Lesnar/Angle matches and the drama that took place before and after said matches. It is a very intriguing look into the insights of the men and women getting ready to compete on the grand stage. It also lets you into Austin's initial thoughts on his retirement and his relationship with The Rock as well as Angle's thoughts on his decision to compete at the event despite his severely injured neck, the aftermath of the match when he went into shock, and Brock's initial backstage reaction after the botched shooting star press.

Mine would have to be the Wrestlemania 22 3 disc set, also for the extras, but most of all because I loved that WM. Not only my favourite WWE DVD, but one of the top DVD's in my collection, period. Containing a full-length Saturday Night's Main Event, along with the vignettes and post-game show you'd expect from other WM DVD's, it was great value for money because of the sheer quantity, and quality, of the extras.

I haven't seen WM 20 on DVD, but it sounds sick, it's just that WM 22 was the first WM I bought on DVD (I usually taped WM off the TV before that), and the subsequent WM DVD's just didn't measure up.

My second favourite would have to be the Jake Roberts DVD released a few years ago. I don't own it, but it's the second best WWE DVD I've seen, mainly because his life story, and the man himself, and the interviews in it are some of the most compelling material I've seen from them.

It's a tie for me between The Rise and Fall of ECW and The Ultimate Ric Flair Collection. The Rise and Fall of ECW has probably the greatest documentary ever released by WWE and some great ECW matches and The Ultimate Ric Flair Collection has by far the best compilation of matches ever released by WWE on DVD and a story between each match and promos, it really doesn't get much better, especially disc 2 which has three five star matches, two with Steamboat and one with Funk. For PPV's I'd have to say Wrestlemania X7, which in my opinion is the greatest WWE show ever, Summerslam 2002 which is just amazing, and Wrestlemania XXIV, not only is it a fantastic show, but you get to see Ric Flair's last match which is a great moment and match, and the 2008 Hall of Fame ceremony.

I'm so glad that the general consensus thus far is that the ECW dvd is the best one. I could not agree more. Never before or since has the WWE gone into such detail with there documentary. After viewing it I thought for sure the rise and fall of WCW dvd was gonna be great. I guess because there was more history to cover they had to skim over alot of detail. Four stars for the ECW dvd!

one of my favorites is the Ric Flair and the Four Horsemen dvd. I thought they did a great job of having the story first, then having the matches separate. I hate the dvds that have the wrestlers talking then a match, then them talking. i rather them talk about their matches, show clips and keep on with the story. the Chris Beniot dvd is another good one too. The Mick Foley Hits and Misses and the Bret Hart dvds are good because i liked that they hand picked the matches they wanted on their dvd.

I have a few. #1 is The Self Destruction of The Ultimate Warrior. I was a HUGE Warrior fan when he was the IC & World Champion & felt that while everyone took liberites on him during the DVD, it was really interesting & entertaining.

My 2nd one is The Rise & Fall of ECW. I just recently watched that again and it always is a good watch. Loved the way they really tried to set ECW apart as if it were an actual ECW DVD instead of a WWE production.

My 3rd is The Rise & Fall of WCW. I know that some people complain about how they glossed over several key periods of WCW's history, but overall it was a tremendous & tragic DVD nonetheless.

And finally, The Road Warriors' DVD. I KINDA liked it because they were my favorite team when I was a child, but I just always hated the way the WWF treated them when they were there, especially in the late 90s.

What I most wanna see is the HITC DVD & the Best of Raw DVD, although I do have the old tape series of Raw from the Attitude Era. Oh, & the Steamboat DVD as well.

My Favorite movie will be the best of the WWE Championship it's something you could watch turn off and watch again later without having to go backwards to re catch up with it plus I got the movie for free and it was the best freebie I've ever gotten.

I gotta go with "The Monday Night Wars", that is the one DVD I can watch over and over. I know there is a lot that is missing from it, and biased towards WWF/E, but its one that re-lives a great era.

Second favorite is "Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior", that DVD is classic...the bashing just keeps you laughing...lol

Thirdly, WMania 20, like a previous poster said, the extras, especially the Behind the scenes of WMania 19 was great.

How can the self destruction of the Ultimate Warrior be one? Not to rain on your parade buddy, but I just re-watched it about three weeks ago (because I was extremely bored) and the music is so loud that you can barely hear the commentary or interviews. With R&FOECW, it's soft in the backround when trying to make a point. I have to join the consensus and say R&F is good...with the R&FOWCW coming in a close second. It's the footage that makes most of these.....because the HHH one was a severe disappointment---having matches right in the middle of his interviews....I'm talking COMPLETE matches. Hey Hunter, why don't you just give me the option to watch the matches later on a separate DVD if I want to be entertained (yes, I'm fullly aware that DVD'S have chapters...it's the principle layout that sucked). The Brett Hart one, for me, was too long winded to get to the good part, but yes, I know that's his career. The Shawn Michaels one was good --- the one before his retirement one (unless they're the same thing with different packaging...I dunno...I didn't buy that one).

Theres to many good ones.....but the one that stands out to me is "Oh Hell Yeah"(i think thats the name of the dvd) Where it shows Stone Cold Steve Austin at his prime just after wining the Gold at Wrestlemania 14.....Great DvD!

I'm going to go with the bandwagon here, and say that I am in total awe of the "Rise and Fall of ECW" dvd. I never in a million years would EVER have expected to see and hear some of the opinions of people on there. I was quite surprised to see the loyalty of Paul E to the vast ECW alum, even after they went on to bigger and better. Then you see Bischoff with his usual smarmy self. I was quite surprised to see Vince make an attempt to give them exposure early on in WWE's early years. I loved seeing the behind the scenes drama of the early days of ECW.

Another good DVD I love, is Jeff Hardy:My Life My Rules. What a unique way to give more insight to a complex and offbeat person. Granted, we know he lives life to a different beat. But he is quite open and honest about his struggles with personal demons. But that is what humanizes him. He makes no apologies for his mistakes, it is what makes him human. He isn't ashamed to admit his failures, and admits that he is no role model. It is quite interesting to see him leading up to a match that basically ends his time in WWE.

I am a HUGE mark for the Best of Smackdown 3 disc set. The 100 greatest moments collection. Not only do you see some classic moments that we all have come to know and love, but I am a huge fan of the opinions of the WWE superstars that are giving their takes on those moments in history. I am especially fond of Striker's dead on impersonations of 'Stone Cold', 'NWO' classic tag lines, and many other moments. You cannot resist seeing Kurt Angle dressed up as HBK singing "Sexy Kurt" with Sensational Sherri.

I'm just going to say it, even though I know it'll sound incredibly biased since I'm a massive Jerichoholic, I will say that the new Chris Jericho DVD is my faveourite.

The documentary is great. Detailing his journey from childhood all the way to WrestleMania 26 against Edge. Some great key players in Jericho's history popped up in little short interviews and I was suprised when they played an Eric Bischoff interview part. I thought Goldberg sounded like such a little child when he was talking about his WCW feud with Jericho. By watching the DVD you can really tell how much passion Jericho has for wrestling and the WWE.

The extras on the DVD are classic Chris Jericho too. Man of 1004 holds, consipiracy victim, the clip when Jericho and Rock steal each others catchphrases and use them against each other and the two post RAW and SmackDown segments are great too. I love it when the old man tells Jericho to "Go fuck your mumma". Although Jericho said that the post RAW bit with Austin was never before seen, I could have sworn I saw it on youtube once ages ago.

There is a decent selection of matches aswell. Some great WCW matches with Eddie and Juvie, obviously it has to have the WM19 match against HBK. I had never seen his match against Rey from Extreme Rules and I thought it was an insane match, very good and the ending was great with him ripping the mask off mid-619.

I highly recommend the DVD to everyone.

I'm going with the Best Of Raw 15th Anniversary DVD collection. This collection had the greatest moments in Raw history including the original ECW invasion, the DX takeover of WCW, the Edge and Lita live sex celebration and the confrontations between Stone Cold and Mr. McMahon. This is one of the greatest DVD collections ever released in my opinion.

The Best Of SmackDown 10th Anniversary is a close second. I like the top 100 moment countdown. The supermarket brawl between Stone Cold and Booker T, Kurt Angle singing "Sexy Kurt", TLC III including teams like the Hardys and Edge and Christian, the 9/11 tribute event, and the Arnold Schwarzenegger on SmackDown!

As far as pay-per-views I'd go with the WrestleMania 20 DVD. I liked the event itself but the extras were really well done. The history of WrestleMania, a documentary leading to WrestleMania XIX, and all the statistics on the DVD made it one of the best.

You know the WWE has a great selection of DVD's but 3 of my favorite that isn't mentioned here is
1) Cheating death, Stealing life the Eddie Guerrero Story- It is done like a documentary, it is great to see Eddie Rise threw the troubles of his life to become WWE Champion
2) Heartbreak and Triumph and From the Vault-Shawn Michaels, Fantastic DVDs great matches, good Story in Heartbreak and Triumph and I cannot wait to see "My Journey"
3) Bret "Hitman" Hart-The Best there is, Best there was, and the Best there ever will be, Anybody who watched this dvd knows what I am talking about and it was great to see Bret get his legacy honored, in the form of this Awesome DVD set

I didn't look through this whole thread so sorry if someone already mentioned this one.

For me, It has to be "The New and Improved DX"!

It gives you a timeline that covers the reformation of the group from the early hints at Wrestlmania 22 through the skits, promos and matches that reunited Shawn Micheals and HHH, all the way to Survivor Series in November of 2006.

It includes all skits and promos from RAW and PPVs as well as all the matches involving DX. If you missed the better part of 2006, this DVD will fill in all the blanks concerning DX.

Not only is it hilarious but you also get a glimpse of some of todays superstars before they were superstars. For example, I didn't realize, until watching this DVD that Dolph Ziggler was part of the Spirit Squad. There was another scene when McMahon or Coach sicked "Security" on DX and on of the security guards was none other than Shameus!

If you're a fan of DX, this is a must-have for you!

Damn, I sound like a commecial here! LOL!

Seriously though it is awesome.

Wrestlemania 20 is my favourite DVD that I own. Out of all 74 WWE/WWF DVD's that I own, Wrestlemania 20 has a special place in my heart.

It was an outstanding event, it was my favourite year in Wrestling, the matches were immaculate, there was something for everybody and I was excited all the way through the event; even the Divas matches.

Not to mention that you get the awesome special features with it aswell. The entire WWE documentary of 'Mania of Wrestlemania' that lasts just under an hour, showcasing the run up from Wrestlemania 19 to Wrestlemania 20 and the struggles that the superstars went through at the time; along with the Wrestlemania Trivia interactive game (which, between you and me; is actually quite hard.).

I have not enjoyed a WWE DVD as much as I loved The Rise and Fall of ECW.

I had already see the independently made "Forever Hardcore", which also tells the story of ECW, but with different opinions from guys who were not in WWE at the time, including Raven, Sandman, Sabu, Tery Funk, Shane Douglas and New Jack.

Watching the WWE DVD tied in well with this, as we got other views on the promotions life story, coupled with footage of matches which was not possible on "Forever Hardcore".

The matches chosen for the DVD was great but I think the best part of the DVD was the inclusion of Paul Heyman as noone else was as qualified to tell the story of ECW than the Mad Professor himself, the man who built it all.

If only the rise and fall of WCW DVD had been as good as this

Good question, taking out PPV's I have on DVD, and the Best of RAW's, I'd say WWE pulled some aces from up their sleeves with their Bret Hart, Mr Perfect, HBK, Jake Roberts dvd's as a whole.
That said I find WWE dvd's are very hit and miss for every good dvd there is 6 or 7 that fail, take the Rock and Austins latest DVD releases they lack greatly.
