Euro 2012 - The Final

If Italy weren't finished already then they certainly are now. 2-0 down, down to 10 men and facing a motivated world and european champions.

Goooooooooaal!
Torres!

The notion that Spain wouldn't be motivated was always shit, and has had nothing to do with their awful string of especially sleep inducing performances. They acytually were quite entertaining in the first half of this game. By the second they restorted to their usual pass, pass, pass, pass, pass and repeat strategy, thus boring me to tears. I hate Spain and I sincerely hope their plane dissapears on the way back to Madrid.

As good as Spain have been, I hope that it is not used to gloss over the fact that the Italians and virtually everyone else have been decidedly average throughout most of the tournament

Yeah I was a little dissapointed by a lot of it. No one really seemed to get out of first gear. Italy were likely the best team throughout and yet they truly only had one outstanding performance.

Dead in the water as soon as the injury took Italy down to 10. Spain finally showed what they can do and no-one could have dealt with that.

Le sigh. I'm already contemplating whether to bother with the world cup, now that there's probably like a 50% chance that Spain will win that as well, knowing the world of football.

I don't think Spain is a 50% to win the world cup.

Brazil will be huge favorites seeing as its taking place there. There will be other big contenders by the time it rolls around. Heres hoping Germany has fixed some of its defensive issues by then.

I hold onto the hope that Brazil will develop an even greater sense of national pride and that the Germans will have matured enough, let alone the potential surprises from elswhere.

The current Brazil team are the worst squad they've had in 20 years.

In all honesty, even if I'm not a big fan of Messi, I'm kinda counting on Argentina to actually do something worth a fucking damn.

Either that, or hope Diego Forlan is still good enough to carry Uruguay, or England gets their head out of their ass and starts to play football beyond the group stages.
