If Sting appears in WWE then Sting, and if he doesn't then Edge. It shouldn't be fair, even for a guy like Steve Borden, to enter the hall of fame for a company he was never in. But his legacy far surpasses Edge's and almost every guys for that matter.
I would have agreed with this if Abdullah the Butcher wasn't getting inducted this year to the hall of fame. He NEVER worked for Vince. he himself was a hardcore ICON and a HUGE superstar in his own right. For him to get into the hall of fame, before others that worked for Vince (Savage, Warrior, Bruno, the Rock, Backlaund, etc) proves that it makes no difference if you work for him or not.
To me when I look at the career.. its not about titles.. I mean if it was PURELY based on titles then Roddy Piper, Curt Henning, Jesse Ventura, Rick Rude, etc etc etc etc Should never be in the hall of fame.. which in and of itself is BS.
Sting's career in NWA/WCW was stuff of legend.. he faced off against icons and the BIGGEST names the sport has ever had to offer, he did what was told of him and got over in any way he could. He was the FACE of the company for years before the NWO and became the TOP FACE against the NWO during the highest rated days of WCW. Sting made his legendary status because he went up against LEGENDS in there primes!!!!
Edge suffers from the fact that there are no real challenges.. lets do this... reverse Edge and Sting in there time in history... Sting would be HUGE today .. and would stand out.. Edge would have been burried BEFORE the NWO ever came to fruitation.
Edge during most of his title reigns were because there was no one else to go to... were Sting had to carry a company himself.. Edge has never been put in this position. I would say in this case maybe John Cena does.. but not edge.
I am not knocking edge.. is he worthy of hall of Fame based on titles? yes.. but not over Sting.. . never ever.. not in a million years!! and not even for a fraction of a second during a 5 second pose.
