Kowalski. This guy's abilities are largely forgotten but at 6'7 and 275lbs, Hernandez's power means nothing here. Kowalski did something no one had ever done before him: he pinned Andre the Giant in North America. Kowalski was also a vegetarian. While that doesn't sound like much, imagine a man that size and in his profession not eating meat. It just doesn't sound right. He trained HHH, so he knew what he was doing if nothign else. Kowalski over an unproven Supermex with ease.

Kowalski died in the last year or two, and when he did, they printed an obituary in the Times. He was that important in wrestling that a serious newspaper in a country that he had nothing to do with felt it necessary to mark his passing.

As much as Hernandez will go on to acheive in TNA, it pales into insignificance against one of the most dominating wrestlers of the last century. He may not be as familiar with weapons as Hernandez, but he was a tough guy, and I don't think it'd be much of a disadvantage. Kowalski wins.

Well now, I don't know if I'd call Hernandez unproven exactly. While the NWA is no longer nearly what it once was, Hernandez does have several reigns with the NWA Texas Heavyweight Championship, he's been NWA National Heavyweight Champion and had a few reigns as NWA World Tag Team Champion with Homicide. However, Kowalski had truly and unquestionably proven himself. By the time he was Hernandez's age, Kowalski had had major feuds with the likes of Orville Brown, Buddy Rogers, Fritz Von Erich and Pat O'Connor.

As mentioned, being Kowalski was the first man in North America to pin Andre the Giant and that's nothing to sneeze at. He beat Andre in his prime. Titles can come and go but there'll always be a "first" time that someone does something and pinning, arguably, the most physically dominant big man in wrestling history outshines anything Hernandez has accomplished thus far.

I voted Hernandez, because I want Sam to like me. No, really, I think he'd win in ECW.

He's a decent flier for his size, and is a lot closer to doing anything hardcore than Kowalski was. Kowalski is great, and I know I'm going to get ripped for voting Hernandez, but I really feel he would win in an ECW ring.

Kowalski wins this one slightly. Super Mex is going to hold down the fort and not give in here. With the added addition of weapons, I'm prone to vote Big H, but Kowalski will adapt and manage to get the W after a great match.

Hernandez is a beast, and his career, in terms of significance, has barely even started. As important as Kowalski was to the world of professional wrestling, I can't ignore Hernandez's brute strength, speed, and dexterity. Thus, I'm going with Super Mex.

Pick: Hernandez
