This is Henry's bread and butter. Morton is famous for getting beaten up the entire match and then making the hot tag to make the save. There's no Robert Gibson to save him here and all Morton is is a cruiserweight getting beaten up here. Henry's power, throwing in his ECW experience and the weapons use created a walk here.
Morton was a tag team wrestler, and never did much in singles wrestling. Mark Henry is a big fat waste of space, but he has been booked as a strong singles competitor, now and in the past. I'm hating myself for it, but I'm going Mark Henry on this one.
Henry would overpower Morton, and Tony Atlas could nullify any potential interferance from Gibson. Henry wins a squash.
Morton didn't really accomplish much in singles competition. Probably his biggest claim includes taking Ric Flair to the 60 minute time limit for the NWA World Championship a few times back in the mid 80s. It seems that everytime I remember Morton getting in the ring with a big 300 pound + guy, he got his ass handed to him. I remember during the whole feud with the Midnight Express, he often got squashed by Big Bubba Rogers, AKA the Big Boss Man. Morton probably wouldn't even be able to get Henry off his feet. Henry takes this in 5 minutes or less.
I like Ricky Morton, and, if he were facing anyone out of WCW during its territory days, I definitely think I could make an argument for him. But, he would be fodder for Henry, who is just too big to be plausibly taken out by a man of Morton's size. However, Rock 'n' Roll Express for 2009 WZ Tag Tourney champs!!!
Ricky Morton is a better all around wrestler than Mark Henry. In my mind, that's not even a question. Unfortunately for him, he goes up against Mark Henry in an ECW ring where rules do not exist. While Morton has much more talent, Henry has much more strength- and access to weapons. I just don't Morton being able to survive this one. This would not be a match, it would be a fight and Ricky Morton would not be able to muster enough offense to win. Circumstances play a big factor in this match. Mark Henry wins.
I pick henry to win here in a quick squash.Henry is way to powerful for ricky and there is no one here that can save him.I can see him getting in a couple of punches but they wont have effect on henry.Mark henry then hits his finisher for the win.Henry wins in less than a minute or two.
UPSET!!! Morton rolls up Henry for the win after he throws a chair that Henry catches and hits his signature dropkick. Henry dominates the entire match, but honestly, I can't put Henry over in this match. Morton with the upset.
Under extreme rules? Henry still wins. Why? His power owns all. He would completly dominate this match without the use of weapons, and if he did use them then the match would be even shorter. Morton just can't over-power Henry, and for that reason, it's a quick win.
