You mean the Champions League that Man City are still in this year and have got a good draw, along with three other competitions?

Doesn't exactly send out the right message to the players - "We don't think you can win."

Poor timing.

uhhh, pretty much the same thing happened before Pep went to his current club, Bayern Munich. They went on to win the treble that year under Jupp Heynckes.

So you are saying that it was quite literally unnecessary for Bayern to hire Pep?

And that he is once again piggy-backing on the success of others?

Not really, but if that's how you choose to see it, then more power to you.

Ntm, I don't really get how he could be "piggy-backing" on the success of others, given he changed Bayern's philosophy big time in his time there, ntm, what he did at Barcelona...

You say that like Guardiola invented tiki-taka. He most certainly did not. He was just the last in a line of development stretching back through Rijkard, Van Gaal and Cruyf.

As for Bayern, you could argue that he took the best team in Europe and made them just the best team in Germany.

He is undoubtedly a good coach with a great record who can inspire loyalty in many of his players, but as of right now there is still that cloud hanging over him that he wins with teams that were already the best.

Sometimes, all it takes is a coach who can mold the already good players into the best and Pep is that guy.

I'd certainly accept that he made Barcelona better with his choices of Messi, Xavi and Iniesta as the core of the team.

But he has arguably made Bayern worse. And now he is cutting and running.

City will be his first real test.

The Premier League will hit him like a ton of bricks, even after he spends a quarter billion on new players. I can't wait.

Meanwhile, uh, Leicester are going to win the Premier League, you guys.

They'll get giddy with excitement and somehow manage to drop their last 3-4 games. At least that's what I hope they do if Tottenham continue being sneakily good at not being noticed sitting a game off second and with a winnable fixture heh heh heh...

At this stage is there anybody who doesnt want leicester to win? The romance of them winning would be pure ecstacy but its a cruel world and as M said its just so easy to picture them blowing it

I would be more skeptical of Leicester if they hadn't given City that 3-1 loss in Manchester today. If they get past Arsenal next week, their schedule lightens up. So long as they don't play down to their opponents, they should be able to take it.

N'aww, look at the American trying to talk about football...

But City won.

The way the media are going on with Neville is a disgrace. No wonder few are making the jump to manager.

So Adam Johnson sacked by Adidas and Sunderland? Guessing Adidas didn't want an advertising disaster.

Some interesting results today for sure.

I jokingly said Spurs would win the title after we beat them, it's looking more and more that way.
