I get the feeling you've not been watching Newcastle play football. I use play in the loosest sense. We're awful, last year we lost 6 in a row which has never happened in the PL and today we equalled that. It's the worst ambition I've seen at the club and the players are going through the motion.
The club is getting money but not investing it, that's obvious by the fact that our centre-back pairing is the same as it was when we were in the championship.

As for Bayern, they put a decidedly average team to the sword and yet Porto were still not out of it at 5-1.
Question: if, by some minor miracle Jurgen Klopp ends up at Newcastle (similar fan base with huge passion and a project with room to grow and expand like Dortmund), and demonstrates a want and desire to rise beyond the relegation survival desperation but says that it'll take time (because it did at Dortmund too), you in?
Also, not to be a dick but good to see Celtic failing to win everything simply so we don't have yet a further example of monopolization of the Scottish game.
Klopp is one of, if not the only high profile manager i could see taking a club lower down the table despite offers from some of the top teams in europe.
Barca, Real, Bayern, Juve.
Pretty good final 4 this season.
Any combination in the semis would be brilliant, but personally, the story of the return of the Great Pep Guardiola against Barca in the Camp Nou is great story, no?
Ugh, "The Great Guardiola".
You mean the guy who waltzed into what were essentially two of the easiest jobs in football and bored a good deal of us to tears with his death by 1,000 cuts style?
The guy has a plan a (good plan a mind you) and that's it. Last year he goes on and on about how he has 'plan's b-z' for Real Madrid: they get demolished after playing exactly the same style of football for the two legs. Genius.

He has yet to have to build anything.
Indeed.
Think maybe, Everton might have a shot? I'd love that, as I've always had soft spot for them during the Moyes days.![]()
Not his fault that most teams play 10 men behind the ball against his teams. If it is so easy to waltz into the easiest jobs in football, then why didn't it happen to another guy? His track record speaks for itself. He is getting slammed for not winning the title every season. Ugh.Ugh, "The Great Guardiola".

Pelligrini did what you said but he is still seen as a joke because he didn't win at Real against Guardiola or City this season by some. Are you saying you regard Claude Puel, Deschamps as better managers than Guardiola because of this logic that they took a smaller team to their highest peak? Basically the luck of the draw determine your perception of the manger's abilities? Di Matteo won a champion's league by parking the bus. Is he better than Guardiola because his team wasn't favoured to win? The leap from good to great isn't always smaller than from mediocre to good.Exactly - let's see him go to Celta-Vigo or Mallorca or someone like that in Spain or even do what Jose did and take a team from a smaller domestic league to the highest peak in Europe.
Guardiola's style of play is dull, his track record is bolstered not by the size of his team's but by the best laid plans of others (seriously all he's done to Bayern is make them one dimensional and dull as fuck to watch - dominant but boring) and he will probably end up with more trophies than most (including Champions League's galore) but you know what? He'll never be considered the greatest coach ever simply because he waltzed into top jobs that were incredibly difficult to fuck up and, get this, didn't fuck up. Amazing really.
Well i don't think Everton will sack Martinez, the board were very patient with Moyes during his bad seasons. I can't see them not showing the same patience with Martinez after a good season last season.
If he were to go there he could do well, very strong attacking full backs, strong talented striker and two good centre backs. If he had some money to spend he could have them challenging for the top 4 but im not sure if they have the funds to do that. There's also a few players on the wrong side of 30 in that team.
Distin, Osman, Barry, Jagielka, Howard, Pienaar and Alcaraz only have a few years left. That team is going to need a lot of money just to stand still let alone move forward.
