Joining in on the fantasy front. Don't have a ton of soccer knowledge though so this should be interesting.

Found my predictions from last year. Arsenal, Spurs, Fulham and Stoke all in the correct position. I also predicted that Samir Nasri would be player of the season

5. Spurs
6. Liverpool
7. Newcastle
8. Everton
9. Sunderland
10. Aston Villa
11. Fulham
12. West Ham
13. Stoke
14. QPR
15. Swansea
16. West Brom
17. Wigan
18. Reading
19. Southampton
20. Norwich

I went to watch Dulwich Hamlet with about 25 people for my mate's birthday. It was a good day. Absolutely hammered now though, as I've been drinking since 1 in the afternoon. We didn't sing the whole time we were there, but at about 10 we got on a bus and made enough of a scene with songs we'd made up (personal fave - "we're blue, we're pink, we only came to drink, Hamelet Hamelet") to make most the people get off.

So how does this work? Never done a EPL fantasy league. Seems to be more like WWE's old fantasy game than USA fantasy football. NFL fantasy we draft teams for the entire seasons. Here we pick a new team every week? SO I need to pick my team first, and then somehow join your game?

You pick a team, and you can change one player a week, unless you didn't make any transfers the previous week in which case you can make two changes. You pick your team, within the budget, and then click on the leagues, private league and then enter the code.

You think it's better to have 3-4 great players, and everyone else is shit, or a more balanced team where everyone is good, but not great? My team bascially has 2 great forwards, 2 great mids, and a goalie. Everyone else is 4.0-4.5 range.

The 4.0 players will basically never play, apart from a few notable exceptions, so I'd avoid them unless you know which ones will play. For your second choice keeper, definitely pick a 4.0 mil player because its a waste of a spot - keepers are almost never dropped.

The best thing in my experience is to have a few marquee players - one for each line of formation maybe, and the rest be quietly competent 5.0 - 6.0 million players. Try and pick the best players for average teams rather than average players for the best teams - someone like Matt Jarvis will play and score a lot more points than someone like Victor Moses, and they are the same price.

That's a very good way to lose, very quickly.
Those four very good players aren't going to play every week, and unless they're RVP (14M for a reason) they're still going to come out of close to half their games with a measly two points.

Unless you're very good with your picks, most guys around the 4-4.5M range won't play regularly, and when they do play they won't score. A Crystal Palace centerback is pretty similar to not having a centerback at all in terms of how many point he'll bring in.

You really need 15 players who are going to be on the field for 2000 minutes or more a season. You don't need a backup goalkeeper if you're first choice is someone like Joe Heart (he's going to play every game and you'll never want to rotate him out) but the rest of the substitutes are important. The way the fixtures work, most teams will have weeks where they don't play (particularly the top teams) and you'll need to be able to rotate in cover who can be relied upon. Similarly there will be weeks when your Hull City centerback is defending against Chelsea, at which point having him off the pitch becomes something of a necessity.

I try to make sure that I have three solid players in each outfield position, and two cheap defenders and midfielders from lesser teams who I can rely on to play and who can be rotated in and out of the team as the fixture list demands.

Partly, but its mostly because he's a defender that gets a lot of assists and takes free kicks. He also plays for a decent side that don't concede too many.

Well, I'm ready to get my ass kicked. I moved a lot of guys around though and now I feel a bit better and less ignorant.

The only 4.0 I have is the sub goaltender. I went with Cech over Hart. Maybe a mistake, I just think Chelsea has a good shot this year. It's doubtful, but if they manage to pick up Rooney they could be killer.

I splurged on RVP as my captain; figured he might be worth it. I'm not taking Suarez because he's going to miss at least a few games. I think I took Rickie Lambert as my other go-to forward. Santi was my big spender in the midfield, with Lampard and Snodgrass, I'm hoping, bringing in some good points. And then I've got Baines on defense, with four other guys in the 5.0-5.5 range; Mertesacker being the secondary.

Much better. Maybe.

I usually take 4 defenders in the 4.5-5.5 range and 1 reserve 4.0 def that will never play to save a few extra money for midfield players who has potential to score more points.

I prefer 3-4-3 or 3-5-2.

You want someone who's like your Lambert for Southampton last season.

I'm betting the farm on Hooper this time around. Him and Schurrle are my two big risks who'll get transferred away when I yield to inevitability and bring RVP back into my squad.

Nathan Baker played most of Villa's games last season, and they haven't bought any defenders. At 4.0 mil he's a steal, considering that they were shit last year but were mostly alright defensively.

Matthew Lowton is another absolute bargain from Villa.

He still only managed to score 42 points in fantasy. Compared to somebody like O'Shea who is only 5.0 and drew over 100pts last year.
