Domestic football - spam version

Neh it's the picture the sun had saying it didn't go in but that picture looks like it did.

So that Italian footballer who died:

His parents died when he was younger so he and his brother looked after his disabled sister.
His brother killed himself.
He died aged 25 playing football.

Udinese have said they will pay everything to cover the sister.

That boy's story is heart-wrenching. Jesus.

Captain Freeman said that one of his handicapped sister will be taken care off by Antoni Di Natale.

'Liverpool have not lost any of the past 10 matches that Carroll has started – winning eight and drawing two – and have not won the past eight without the centre-forward in the starting lineup – losing five and drawing three.'

Andy Hunter. The Guardian. Newcastle United 2. Liverpool nil.

It has already been changed.

What an idiot though. I assume that Hunter is a Liverpool fan or is it possible that he is just another English football journalist trying to big up an English striker regardless of how good or bad he really is?

Well it's either him or Shola. OUtside of Rooney which English striker's had a good season?

Sturridge had a good start but has been more hit than miss.

Incidentally Messi had a mare today and seemingly Blake Oakfirled was playing in defence.

I know this is domestic, but the Chelsea Barca game was brilliant.

Barca should've taken it. And Drogba is brilliant mimicking a plank. Terrific.

I know what you're getting at with them having so much possession and nothing to show for it, but let's not forget Chelsea were incredibly lucky. Not only did Barça hit the crossbar twice and the post too, Alexis and Cesc missed open goals. Things just didn't go Barça's way.

While I still expect Barca to defeat Chelsea at the Camp Nou, the big x factor in the next match is how much their respective fixtures against Madrid and Arsenal play out with regards to fatigue and injuries. Although they are 2 big games, Barca have home advantage against Madrid and Chelsea which is always a plus.

What's everyones opinion on 37 year old David Beckham being likely to be named in the Olympic Squad?

Should he be picked?

You are allowed 3 over-23yrs old players in the squad...who would you pick?

I think the leadership he offers means he definitely should be included. This is a bunch of kids and he's the ideal person to be captain.

He's done his fair share to win London the games, so yeh, why the hell not? If he gets injured, he only misses some MLS stuff that doesn't really matter.

Plus if the team tank, the press haven't laid into him for a good while, it'll be like 98 all over again ;)

Let's face it, it's the bloody Olympics. Who actually willingly sat down and watched the football for any other reason than there being nothing else on TV. At least with Beckham, there's a reason to watch, instead of watching Phil Jone flail about like a headless chicken.
