Things don't look so great for 'New' Rangers:

Reports this evening that players at Rangers have refused to take a 15% pay cut as the club continues to lose money, with speculation that the club may be forced to sell players to avoid entering administration or even insolvency.

Feel bad for Ally McCoist though, he seems like a good egg.

The Scottish league hasn't been much help. They were to Hearts, it's fucking hypocrisy.

Kidds lost their top scorer and manager in the last month. But, two new signings todays and were through to the third round of the FA cup so... What!

Rangers were kicked out the top division when they were liquidated and a new company was formed. The clubs in the other leagues then voted for them to join the bottom tier. Hearts only went into administration are are currently trying to exit. If they don't; the same punishment is likely.

Rangers have a business model that banked on them bullshitting their way back to the top flight in two seasons, which they aren't going to do now. This essentially means that they are playing international footballers whilst occupying the third tier of Scottish football alongside teams made of plumbers and plasterers etc. It is not surprising that they are up shit creek.

I really dont understand why some United fans think that where we are right now is okay. I get it, it's a transitional period I didn't expect us to go out and win the league this season with the squad that we have... but to take a team that won the league (at a canter I might add) spend £30m on it and then not qualify for the Champions League is completely out of the question.

If Mourinho or Pellegrini were in this situation they would lose their jobs at the end of the season, if Man Utd don't qualify for the Champions League this season Moyes should go.

Everybody else was shit last year, though. Made that squad look better.

City had anymore legit goals against them dissallowed? Bit of a farce now.

Everyone had the blinkers on last season because they were winning but individually, the squad is fully of very average players or formerly good players who are now old or past caring.
They've been a timebomb for 2 or 3 seasons and Ferguson was holding them together. Now he's gone and Rio has given up, Evra is past caring, Scholes is gone, Nani/Anderson/Cleverly/Jones have all returned to being worthless.
This is all Ferguson's fault, he failed to improve them and then walked out when he realised they were finished.

United were a bad team who got lucky last season and lazy once Ferguson retired. Every team around them have improved and they didnt act quickly enough in the summer.

You cannot ask for much from a midfield that has no real quality any more aside from maybe an 18 year old kid and a defence that is either old and passed it or has not been given the experience needed in their best positions, specifically Smalling and Jones.

The only thing that Moyes should get proper stick for is once he got the Glazer's to invest some more money, he spent it all on Fellaini. Not a bad player by any means but not worth half the £27 million spent on him and even more importantly, not a player that fits into the Man Utd way of playing.

Your right.

It's still Moyes fault if he can't get those types of performances out of the players, he was given money in the summer but he sat on his hands making stupid offers for second rate Everton players and then eventually paying over the odds for a player we didn't even need.

I would hazard a guess that we wouldn't be in this situation now had we got Mourinho in. Chelsea were in a similar position a few years ago, yet they still qualified for the Champions League.

How exactly would it be Ferguson's fault for not improving the squad? It's not like the team has been under performing for the last few years... if your winning the league generally you shouldn't have to go out and overhaul the squad.

It's not really Ferguson's fault that he was able to make average players look good and make players who dont care, actually care.

But then it is really Moyes' fault for not being able to do the same? Sure, it is a major part of his job to motivate his players, but if it took one of the best managers of all time to get commitment and performance out of a thoroughly average/ageing squad, then a mere mortal manager like Moyes is bound to have trouble.

He needs to shut the fuck up with this "we're still in the title race" bullshit he's spouting.

This pretty much sums him up

That was ludicrous 6 weeks ago, now it's just a joke.

Looking at this objectively, I blame Ferguson because this is still very much Ferguson's team and the squad he left behind and it's those players that are failing. How long has everyone been saying "Man U really need a better midfield"? 2-3 years? But did Ferguson do anything about it? Nope, he got Paul Scholes to unretire for just long enough until Ferguson could leave.

Moyes has brought in 1 player, who has been injured and was a desperation move anyway because all the Man U fans were complaining about the lack of signings. In addition, he's had no RVP and Rooney has been missing quite a lot too.
I don't blame Moyes because it isn't his Man U yet, but if they miss out on the Champions League this season, they're fucked. If it was difficult to sign quality players last summer, it's not going to be any easier in 2014. You can basically forget about the title for at least 5 years if they don't finish top 4.
