Domestic football - spam version

Pretty poor game at the Bridge today. Chelsea midfield dominated for the first 3/4 of the game but could do very little with it in the final third. Oscar and Hazard were unimpressive, while Mata did not hit the heights he did last month. Felt they were lacking natural width too. There was plenty of opportunity to double up on Wisdom in their left but they didn't exploit it enough.

As for Liverpool, while being solid enough at the back, the first hour was about as poor as we have been all season in possession. Suarez and Sterling had about 5 touches in the first half. Joe Allen and Nuri Sahin were both poor throughout -neither of them can deal with being closed down and neither is any good in the tackle.

It took BR's change of formation (not entirely sure what it was supposed to be) and Gerrard finding some of his old swashbuckling form to rewaken us and in the last quarter we certainly could have nicked all three points, although it would not have been justified.

I was infuriated with the BBC today. One of their comments were "How Newcastle wish they had Andy Carroll up front for this". The same Andy C who has yet to score this season? Cisse's scored three and he's supposidly having a mare.

Just another example of the media building up English players so they can knock them off that perch at a later date.

Wouldn't be surprised to read some comments about how ineffective Sterling was today.

Chelsea should be docked points now Clattenburg's been found innocent.

I've heard so many rumours recently. Chelsea are making serious moves for Falcao. Atletico only want cash (not sure I'd believe that, i'm sure they'd love to have Courtois permanently). Torres has apparently asked to leave and wants to stay over here.

Liverpool are in for Butland and Reina may well be shipped out to make space for him. The Alonso return (which I mentioned a couple of months back) is still being talked about and even a bid for Torres as well (though I'd imagine Demba Ba for 7.5mil would be just as likely if that clause actually exists.)

Can't wait for January.

Please. Explain on how that's fair. Because it fucking isn't.

You're welcome to Torres. Fed up of the guy, he gets more attention than anybody else in the team because of his lack of goals even though Chelsea played well whilst topping the league until recently.

Chelsea should be deducted points for being Chelsea

That's what it sounds like.

No one said it's fair...but then again it isn't fair to single out someone you feel has done you wrong and try and ruin his career by calling him a racist when it's found he isn't.

From what I've heard, it was a misunderstanding in language. And he should get the sack. He's not the only match official who should get it.

Exactly, ref sends two players out. Club calls him racist as that's the in thing and he's found innocent. Chelsea should be docked points for that.

As I said earlier, 'twas a misunderstanding. And he should get the sack, not for being racist, but for being incompetent.

There's a difference between a misunderstanding and a false accusation to the police.

Chelsea have essentially cried rape. It could ruin Clattenberg's career and that is not on.

As for his incompetence, I have seen far, far worse than the "poor" decisions he gave against Chelsea. Neither of the reds were overly poor. Torres' was definitely debatable but explainable by "not all contact is a foul" while Ivanovic's was a blatant straight red by the rules of the game.

Oh, and technically Suarez's racism was a misunderstanding. That did not get him away with it.

Didn't the police investigation end sooner because Chelsea didn't send the same documentation to the police that they did to the FA? That's what I heard this morning at least, so there is a chance that the FA may still take action depending on the reports.

When's the last time someone scored a hat-trick against England? Any ideas?

Marco Van Basten 1988. This is only the eleventh they have conceded ever.

EDIT: He's the first to score 4 past England. Ever.

Cheers. I couldn't even think of the last time they'd conceded 3 in a game.

Never going to get sick of seeing the replay of that goal.

I got 4, i thought i would have known more although it's shitty in that it doesn't tell you which ones you got wrong.

If you're going to sack Clattenburg you may as well sack all of the English refs. He's not the first and he certainly won't be the last to make a mistake in a game. Don't think i would go as far as to dock points from Chelsea though, if the players genuinely believe they heard something racist they should be allowed report it, even if it was a misunderstanding.

Hodgeson seems to be handing out caps like confetti, Sterlings had a handful of games for Liverpool at least wait and see if he's consistent over the season before you go blowing his ego up with an England call up.

Appartently the following players will have 6 months left on the contracts in Janruary
Huntelaar
Sturridge
Walcott
Arshavin
Malouda
Franco Di Santo
Lewis Holtby
Ibrahim Afellay
Cacau
Fernando Llorente
Cristian Tello
Javier Saviola
Moussa Sissoko
Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa
Miralem Sulejmani
Keisuke Honda
Ricardo Quaresma

It's going to be a busy window.
