He is also playing for the wrong team. Serg is British

For the purpose of this, I think he's "Italian".

I love how Seedorf is playing. He still plays for Milan, and now he's being marked by John Bishop.

Since purchasing Torres from Liverpool, I haven't really cared about how much Chelsea spend. As for Hazard; I don't think £34M and £170K a week is that bad, especially when you look at City's transfer activity.

If you compare it to every other club in the world it is "that bad".

He'll be off to Barcelona/Madrid in a few years for his 'dream move' anyway. £170,000 a week is a massive amount for a young player who hasn't proved himself in top league, and is probably indicative of a man who has begun to believe the hype surrounding him.

It's a stupid amount of money. I think he's worth it though, could be as good as Silva for City, the difference between 4th place and League challengers.

Interesting that Brendan Rodgers is in pole position to get the Liverpool job. I like how this has been done. Dave Whelan deserves to lose his manager because he has handled the whole affair terribly.

Quite happy about Eden Hazard joining Chelsea, he's a future star if he isn't one already.

The thing about being a star in the Belgian league is that it's the Belgian league. That's like being a star in Scotland. The guy is a mark for himself and he's about to be found out.

French league.

Yeah, because all the players from the French League suck. That Drogba never did anything. And Evra hasn't won a thing. PLus Cabaye and Ben Arfa made Newcastle worse this year.

I know its only two examples (and you are probably right with his wage demands etc but I doubt you have even seen the guy play), it's a ridiculous statement to make.

He played in the french league, same team as Gervinho I think, only Hazard was better. He'll probably be better than Mata for Chelsea, certainly better than Kalou and Sturridge. Although not as good as Ramires.

edit - too late, numbers got there first.

I prefer the other Hazard. Still, pleasing development. I'm not sure I can picture the Chelsea front line in Hulk ends up coming in as well though. Mata, Hazard and Hulk all seem to slip into very similar roles.

It could work. I see Hazard as a like for like for David Silva, better than Nasri. Hulk is like a stronger version of Aguero or Balotelli, he could fill a number of roles in the front line if they get him.

Whelan has absolutely no tact whatsoever; although you could argue that he is being very shrewd in attempting to keep his manager.

As for Brendan Rodgers, I do not want him at Liverpool for the same reasons as I do not want Martinez. Let him prove himself at a bigger club than Swansea before trying to turn around the fortunes of Liverpool.

No Fernando then?

I think for the most part he'll end up as a rotation option. You can't justifiably bench Hazard, Hulk or Mata, which leaves only a few options.

I wouldn't want Hazard and Mata in the same midfield if you're playing Hulk and Torres as out and out strikers. That's too aggressive. You could play Torres as the lone striker with three trequartista backing him up (all three guys have experience playing as wingers) but if you're doing that then you need the guy in the box to be creating problems and scoring goals. Not being Fernando Torres. I'd play Sturrage as an out and out striker in that formation over Torres.

Personally I'm still hoping for Lukaku to come good. Whole world of potential there.

Jordan fucking Henderson.

As pish as Frank Lampard is in a England shirt, particularly at the finals of major competitions, him half hobbled is better than Henderson.

What makes it even worse is that basically the only time that Henderson has looked anything other than total dogshit this season has been when Stevie G was not playing.

Oh, look who the England captain is...

Henderson will still be behind Gerrard, Parker, Milner, Phil Jones or Jagielkla (makeshift CM) for the central midfield spot if called up. There is still hope he won't make it on the pitch even if Lampard is ruled out.
