does the Hall of Fam REALLY MEAN anything?

TNA FIRE ORLANDO JORDAN HE SUCKS
please, before all of you jump on me,just hear me out

a Hall of fame should be a special place for the wrestlers that made a big impact in wrestling, they left a huge legacy that can never be replaced,is that what the WWE hall of fame is?NO

every year, the company choses handiful of people to get inducted into the WWE hall of fame but most of those people,i have never even heard off and I know for sure they didn't leave an impact in wrestling and i know most of you might feel the same way

the hall of fame should be for people who have EARNED IT and DESERVE IT but now-a-days,everyone from the past gets in because it's the "RESPECTIFUL" thing to do.That IMO,totally makes the hall of fame not that great

so pretty much, every star TODAY WILL GET IN THE HALL OF FAME ONE DAY

anyone else agree?

The WWE Hall of Fame is as meaningful as all the WWE Championships. If you believe in it, then yes, it is meaningful. If you think the Hall and the Titles are just the WWE’s version of a setting in a movie and its props, then no, it’s not. I, for one, am a SMark and proud of it, and I enjoy all the little in and outs of Pro Wrestling. To answer your question, it all depends on who you’re talking to.

I have heard of everyone in the WWE Hall of Fame. Now I like the old stuff and discussing wrestling history and things like that so I may be in the minority but the WWE has some of the most memorable people. My personal favorite is Sylvester Ritter/Junkyard Dog. Met him at a house show wonderful man bless his soul and one of the top entertainers in the business.

It isn't always your championship reigns that count as it is your impact on the business. Roddy Piper, greatest heel of the 1980's never held the world title, Junkyard Dog, never held a championship in the WWF/E. They made a lasting impact on the business. So in my mind the Hall of Fame does matter. Very much so.

I think the HOF has for the most part made good choices for their inductees....

If you do research on every person involved they all played key roles in wrestling in some capacity....

I DO feel the HOF should be left open ONLY to people who were strictly wrestling personalities and NOT from other areas of life... Like acting or sports... With the 1 exception maybe being Mr. T because it was his celebrity power that really HELPED with launching Wrestlemania 1 & 2....

But inducting Pete Rose and even worse William "The Refriderater" Perry <----Stupid Idea

As for true wrestling personalities inducted, the only 1 that is really there that SHOULD NOT be is career jobber Koko B. Ware... I petition to have him removed and Chris Beniot, Randy Savage, The Ultimate Warrior, or Scott Hall put in his place

Is it meaningful. In some ways it is and some it isnt. By making the hall of fame it proves that for 15-20 years you provided the fans with entertainment and they wanted to see you each and every week whether it was to cheer or boo you. But for some it dont matter because the best wrestlers dont make the hall of fame. It also depends on how good you r with the boss, as if VKM dont like you, you cant make the Hall of Fame.

It matters because you are being acknowledged and inducted by your peers. The Hall Of Fame is about peer recognition, not fan recognition. That's why its important, that's why it matters, that's why it will always matter.

I agree with King Patrick on this one, it depends on who you talk to , to me, the Hall of Fame means something , and not everyone gets in, and it's not necessarily always going to be people that had major impacts of wrestling, it may just be people that just wrestled a long ass time ago and deserve recognition for their skill.

Its a way to make some dough before wrestlemania and nothing more (through selling 1000s of tickets to the ceremony and increasing buyrates. For Example, I know alot of people who watched wrestlemania 21 because Hogan got inducted the night before and was going to be at the event, and also Pipers pit with SCSA). If there was an actual building that honored these superstars I would probably be singing another tune right now, but at this point in time, it means nothing. It also doesn't help your cause when the longest reigning WWWF champ and a cornerstone of the company for 20 years is not included in it. Its like not having Johnny Unitas in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, it loses credibility.

It does mean something. I think someone like you is really missing the point.

The Hall Of Fame is to honor the legends of the business and their legacies. A lot of wrestlers takes much pride in being a WWE Hall Of Famer. Whenever you hear names like The Iron Sheik, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart and Steve Austin, they are always referred as a WWE Hall Of Famer. If the Hall Of Fame was meaningless, no one, you included, would mention or acknowledge it. You see people constantly making discussions about who should be in the Hall Of Fame in 2010 although it's still 8 months away. That says something right there.

You also have other wrestlers that weren't WWE champion such as KoKo B. Ware. Sure he wasn't a mega star but they still left their mark in history and they contributed. Imagine the WWE in the 1980's without midcarders such as KoKo B. Ware.

In my opinion it really sounds as if you're saying the only people that should be in the Hall of Fame are past WWE champions; people that made a BIG difference. I mean sure they made the mistake of inducting 2 celebrities but when was the last time they did that? Only 2! Do you remember them inducting any other celebrities in recent timing? I sure don't but how often do you hear of Pete Rose and that Chicago Bears legend or whatever his name is get mentioned? Never. Minor mistake in the past but I'm sure we could move forward without feeling too heartbroken.

Hell you see someone like The Iron Sheik going around with his Hall Of Fame ring and advertising himself constantly as a WWE Hall Of Famer. There are wrestlers that takes much pride in being a Hall Of Famer. It is ALWAYS meaningful to someone when they get honored for their accomplishments and to bring that feeling to guys such as Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, Bret Hart, Iron Sheik, Ricky Steamboat, etc. REALLY determines a lot. I mean yeah there isn't a building to showcase old wrestling outfits and such but if they ever do open a Hall Of Fame building I'm sure it will be in either New York or CT; two states I don't live in and chances are I would never get the chance to visit it and the same could be said about majority of the WWE Universe. So why do we need a Hall Of Fame building in order to have a credible Hall Of Fame? It's about honoring and recognizing past wrestlers that made their contributions to the business. That is exactly what the WWE Hall of Fame is about so I'd say it's meaningful.

you have to rememeber that the Hall of Fame just started 16 years ago the wwe is just trying to induct everyone that started out with the company just like the NBA Hall of Fame when the NBA first started the NBA inucted almost everyone then they just inducted the special ones so give the wwe some time when all of those legends that started out with the company are inducted then they will induct the special ones because I know for sure that Santino Marella is not going to be in the wwe Hall of Fame.

I'm sure the HOF means something to the wrestlers that are in WWE. It seems like if you are not working in or with WWE in some sort of capacity you are left out. Superstar Billy Graham sold is HOF ring since Vince pretty much kicked him to the curb. Look at Ric Flair, he is a hall of famer and had a great retirement match and a good farewell. However, he was brought back just to build up Batista and get the crap beaten out of him by Orton and has never been seen from again. Triple H even insulted him on Raw saying Flair is signing autographs right now for the VFW. Doesn't seem like WWE has much respect for Flair or the other legends when they are not working for them. WWE has made fun of Hogan, Savage, and Bret Hart when they were in WCW. When Hogan came back and they made a DVD of Bret and Savage, WWE made it sound like they were the greatest wrestlers of all time. Then Shawn of course made fun of Bret in 2005 on Raw in Canada which was a great promo but still sticking it to the people that made WWF a household name in the 80's and 90s. I believe the HOF is a joke when you have people like Pete Rose and William the Refrigerator Perry in it. The HOF won't mean anything to me unless they put stars like Dibiase, Jake the Snake, Savage, Rick Rude, and The Four Horseman into it. I'm sure they will, I just hope that the 2010 class isn't led by Doink the Clown or Repo Man.

The wwe hall of fame doesn't. There are other hall of fames out there that do. Really I don't give a shit if some is inducted into wwe hall of fame, because it doesn't really mean much anymore, because like you said we are starting to see more and more men that we don't think should be in elevated to that status.

The WWE Hall of Fame is a great place to be and if you are there then you more than certainly deserve it.

Of course, it is not a real Hall of Fame since there is no building. However, it does mean something. In fact, it means a great deal. It means a massive amount to the WWE, it means a great amount to the fanbase and I am certain that it means a huge deal to the people being inducted to the Hall of Fame. Let me ask you something, if you were inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame, would you be happy with people telling you that it meant nothing? I don't think you would somehow.

The point is, when you get inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame, it shows that you were once, one of the greatest performers in the business. It should mean agreat deal to everyone. I mean, how often is it that you are given a huge honour of being named one of the best at what you do? Not often.

Bottom line: Of course it means something.

I know for sure that Santino Marella is not going to be in the wwe Hall of Fame.

EXCUSE ME!? This man is genius! Sure, he jobs. But he's also a 2-time Intercontinental Champion! The WWE will definitely honor him in the HOF. He might not be the main attraction, but he'll be there. The WWE can't just only induct ultra stars, cus there aren't that many. They'd only be inducting one or two a year for a few years until they start inducting their current stars. Superstars like Marella are crucial for the HOF. They fill in space. Plus his career isn't even over with. How can you assume something like that already? He could somehow be handed the WWE championship and run with it for a few months. Just after last SummerSlam everybody started marking over him and acting like he was the modern Honky Tonk Man.
