I think overall, I do miss it. After a while, I pretty much accepted that it was merely a small WWE brand, and liked it for what it was; more or less a place for new stars to develop. After all, it did kick start the likes of CM Punk, Miz, Morrison, Swagger and Sheamus, among others. I liked what Dreamer said about it one time, how even though it obviously wasn't the original ECW, it was the same concept, as far as allowing unknowns to make names for themselves.
Plus a lot of the time, I found ECW more entertaining when it came to actual wrestling than Raw or SD. To me, it was kind of similar to how college basketball wasn't quite at the level that the NBA is, but the guys playing college basketball are younger and more hungry for that spot. That's what some of the really good matches in ECW reminded me of.
I like NXT, but initially, I thought when ECW was going down, it was going to be the same format, rather than what NXT has going on. So I do miss how ECW was showcasing the younger guys and molding future WWE stars... but lately, I'm starting to believe that's what SmackDown will be more like, as a large percentage of the top draws are on Raw now. At first, I didn't like how SmackDown was left with only a few main eventers, but am now realizing that this leaves an opportunity open for someone to step up and become a top draw in the future.
